Clue #112 - An Email from Rachel & A Hack at TLE.com

AN EMAIL FROM RACHEL
We received the following email in our inbox from rachel@rachelblake.com at 6:56am CST.

"RACHEL HERE. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW -- THEY'RE AFTER ME...BUT, I'M STILL BREATHING. I LISTENED TO DJ DAN. I FEEL YOUR SUPPORT. I CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT IT MEANS TO ME. YOU'RE DOING GREAT WORK WITH THE SRI LANKA VIDEO. KEEP GOING. FIND THE PIECES. PUT THEM TOGETHER AT WWW.HANSOEXPOSED.COM BUT THAT'S NOT WHY I'M WRITING. THE REASON I'M WRITING IS TO TELL YOU... SOMETHING'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN. PAY ATTENTION. HEAD TO WWW.APOLLOCANDY.COM TRUST ME. THAT'S ALL FOR NOW."

A HACK AT THELOSTEXPERIENCE.COM
For the last few days we've been following developments over at thelostexperience.com. It appears that they have a "friendly" hacker who is trying to share with them useful information about things we're all interested in. If you ask us, it looks like a pretty lively glyph hunt is going on. Make sure you don't miss any of the action today as it seems like things are really heating up!

I love a challenge. For the two posers who are trying to jump on my coattails, the answer to vexingmodstwo's question is "42". And I must admit that was pretty damned funny...
Vexingmodstwo, I've also contacted you privately so you can confirm that it's me when I post here. You'll figure out who the posers are.

Hey all. I posted this over at ninjas blog but thought I'd head over here and give you all a shoutout for the work on 29. Go team!

I am actually very impressed with how the last clue was found. I think this is more of what the game needs. There has been talk about this part getting boring and repetitive, and I can understand that. However the doc jensen clue was great. It still involved a puzzle (figuring out where it would be posted), people worked together to solve it, and then some of who were geographically advantaged actually got to find it in the real world.
I think the fact that there was a time the clue would be found was also helpful. It all made this more of an "exiting treasure hunt" with more active participation. I personally hope we see more of this sort of thing. It could be done in many cities, and many countries. And if the big guys (ninja, TLEC etc) are going to get glyphs for us to find, perhaps even take into account the locations of the main, dedicated players (tapdawg, lav, justwillow etc) so they can hunt in thier areas.

(And btw, the daddy issues RUINED the last charlie and the chocolate factory)

So, are we watching for:

Right now that doesn't appear to do anything but bring up the usual HF site -- but as we have all seen, clues come out before things are actually up and running.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

weez ... personally, I like to change their resolutions and screen savers. Most people in my direct area don't know which end of the mouse is up, so it's fun to watch them try to figure out why all their icons are so small, and how to fix it.

Then again, I'm just mean ... ;)

noble, the old one still comes up but in the moving backgroun in the back right near the top it comes in right before the old neon glyph appears, it's sideways and you need to zoom on it.

Alternatively, you can click on the glyph when it first appears. This pauses the flash intro and you can then zoom in to the top right corner.

So the question is...what's the vaccine for? If these villages are allowing the testing, have they been exposed to something? And if they were exposed, is it to something TWM/THF invented or did it come from elsewhere?

In one breath he's talking about specific genetic targets, then he's vaccinating whole villages.

it could be that lost islad was a bustling community until a virus destroyed all the natives, and the DI moved in.
maybe THF even created the virus to get rid of the natives.

This clip is actually 2 clips joined together. At the beggining, when it goes all blurry, and then unblurs, the box and mittlewerk are in different positions.

I don't think it's two clips, but I'll have to watch again. My sense was that she had to quickly move behind the box, which caused the autofocus to go nutty before she could get the semi-obstructed shot of TWM through the handle holes.

This frag is an intriguing addition to the TWM sequence, in light of everyone's theories. Did they *give* the predicted doomsday-super-virus to the villagers and then test their new vaccine on the infected folks to see if it works? (E.G. the X-File consortium testing their black oil vaccine in the same way--infect/vaccinate) Maybe they told the villagers that it was a two-part vaccine as well, and not tell them that part one was the infecting phase (i.e., keeping up the story). OR (as alluded to by the coughing in the audience) have they secrectly infected the audience, who will then be shipped via the steamer to the island, infecting the villagers, and they will then supply the vaccine to the villagers after they are infected (and to themselves as well)? Perhaps the orientation audience is being duped in the same way that the observation hatch people were duped? E.G., you are going to do this to someone and observe them, when in actuality, we are doing it to you! Ow, my head hurts.

Under UK Distribution on www.apollocandy.com it says (in regards to how to get an Apollo Candy bar);

"It's easy! We're giving them away! While supplies last, simply go to your nearest Forbidden Planet store (from Thurs 24th August) and say the daily code. Trust us! Your tummy will thank you.

Thursday's code is "Alvar Hanso".
Good eating, UK!!"

I live on an island in the UK, and we don't have a 'Forbidden Planet' here, so I won't be able to get one. I'm sure some of you guys will be the first in line though.

Does anybody think there mayb be a glyph inside the wrapper of the candy bars? I figured that since on the site there is a picture of a candy bar being unwrapped.

Also, the barcode on the image of the Apollo bar seems significant as you only see it for a short time when each page loads, efore it's covered up again.

PS. Lurker, first time poster. :)
