Clue #27 - Persephone (4) Whose Running This Place?

If you login and go to Executive Bios and click on "October 28, 2003" underneath the picture of Alvar Hanso, it takes you through a series of links. Here is what Persephone tells us:

Persephone: "Notice the grainy far away picture? It doesn't match anyone else.

Then it takes you to a global map which shows Alvar's last known public appearances in London (14.06.2000), Copenhagen (12.11.2000), Paris (23.02.2001), Geneva (12.07.2001), Rome (18.09.2001), back to Geneva and Copenhagen, then to somewhere off the map, then back to Copehnagen(01.01.2001),. His trip ends in Madrid(31.12.2002) on December 31, 2002

Persephone: "This is the last record I found of any public appearance of Alvar Hanso. The man hasn't been seen in public since 2002!!! Is he hiding? Alvar Hanso was never there. Whose running this place anyway?"

Wait for the green dot... it sounds like morse code.

SAFE G other ideas SAFER, SAFE 9, SAFE M, SAVE ME (See Clue #45)

Is this correct? What does this mean? Also, looking at the dates, does anyone else think they made a mistake with the 01.01.2001 date? Did they mean to do 2002 or is Alvar traveling through time?

Also, read the phone transcript on Clue #7 again (option 2). It sounds like Persephone interrupting asking "What have they done with him?"

Finally got in after clearing my cache. Kinda frustrated there for a bit!

Don't know which moderator is doing the posting today, but we know you have a life other than this. It's OK if it takes a while to get back to it. You're doing a bang up job!

Hey crew...a little advice.

The link is live for me for some reason. Why would that be? Do I need to do something like "Clear My Cache?"

Once you run through the date thing go to Joops corner and wave your mouse over the main area. It's a clickable link. It brought me back to the intro before entering the site but the voice sounded far away. I wasn't able to figure out much after that.

does anyone think that Persephone is the lady who asked "Where is Alvar Hanso? What have they done with him?" in the phone line?

after you ran the flash after you click on the link, the words in the alvar hanso bio are missing. if you check the flash again, the missing words are in the same position as the dates in the flash.

so, the missing words may not be significant.

ya'll think that having Alvar in pink on the bio bit might be another clue as to alvar being a lady?

It's def. SAFE 9. There's a break between SAFE and 9. The person in the pic on the map is probably Alvar.

Has anyone figured out the login name and password?

Is there a significance to the date OCTOBER 28th 2001?

The Electromagnetic Research Initiative has a pic from "Early morning hours of October 28, 2001"

Is there a connection to Hanso's trips? Is this the date of "the accident?"

The first Morse Code set that comes up when you do a Google Image Search is wrong: http://www.cwhistory.com/history/TeacherPack/morsecode.html

This does not match International Morse Code or the obsolete American Morse Code - so what is it? Can anyone find a different source for this chart?

All of the other Morse Code charts I have looked at match the Wikipedia chart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morse_code

American Morse Code: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Morse_code

This is what I got

s ...
a .-
f ..-.
e .
g --.

Rotating the letters doesn't give us much:

safeg gefas
afegs sgefa
fegsa asgef
egsaf fasge
gsafe efasg

Reading the code from right to left doesn't do much either:

welns snlew
elnsw wsnlw
lnswe ewsnl
nswel lewsn
sweln nlews

There may be a way to recombine the code into more or less letters (ala Kryptos):

i.e.

.. ..-. . -. .- -.

I F E N A N

... but I havent found anything yet...

Pistolharris, I think Persephone means that picture is not of Alvar. this is because the picture is dated 2003, and Alvar hasn't been seen since 2002.

It either means someone has dated the picture wrong on purpose, or that it's not him.

Yea for "the one true b!x"!!!!

THAT answers my question. I don't know if it's a NEW clue but it's new to me. And that makes sense (in the way that things from Lost make sense) since it had to be a conscious choice to put THAT date on the pic.

yea! Yea for b!x and yea for me!

In order to do the Joop thing or anything else, you must first do the newsletter thing.

The login at the bottom isn't working yet.
On the Joop game: it works only after you do the newsletter sign up. That's where "breaking strain" is the password you have to have. After that Joop appears to work with anything.

Yep, I was trying on Thursday to figure that out. I looked up maps of Africa now and also 10 years ago (since they started 10 years ago and you how things in Africa change)trying to find a country name and a capotol name that would fit what you can see. Never came up with anything, though. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough and with all the new clues, I kinda forgot about it. =o)

A couple of eps back when Jack and Kate were going out to "the line" there was a definate shot of Jack with a large black rock right behind him. Also, of course, there is the Black Rock ship...

Be happy to send anyone who doesn't have a good blast door map an email...

C&D say that "?" will feature/focus around the computer.

Yeah, I know. But I'm listening. And Carlton's face is scaring me right now. A lot. It's just...creepy. And big.

Widmore's mentioned. Someone's asking a whole bunch of questions that are NOT going to be answered. The answer is "There will be MORE Widmore. Not less." It'll appear in the finale. And they tell us to check "Bad Twin."

There are 2 branches of the Widmore family tree. One British and one American. Carlton won't say which one produces the pregnancy tests.

And NEVER write them a letter or e-mail without going through SPELL CHECK!

I thought about the fiji thing to, but If you think about it its too far south to be where they are...
If they flew four hours of a 14.5 hour flight (SYD AUS to LAX)
Then they turned and flew (I Think) 1 hour toward the phillipines <--sp. that would put them near the marshall islands in the south pacific or (i forget the name) a small island above guam...and as a note... the marshall islands were once used to test nukes...

Also note that turning toward the phillipines would be the wrong thing to do as they would have been closer to hawaii than to where they decided to go.

anyone else have a theory as to where they are??
