Clue #36 - Persephone (9) Another Number Message

The hacker's at it again. We got a new message from Persephone at persephone.thehansofoundation.org. This one was really tricky....

106 103 157 162 235 45 122 202 39 122 26 39 162 218 222 151 42 39 142 87 168 186

*Thanks and shout out to Rita, Rod, Chris, James, Mohammed Ali, Leslie, and Lauren for noticing the change first and emailing.

The numbers are "base64 coded". If you head to http://www.paulschou.com/tools/xlate/ and enter the numbers into the "dec/char" box for ASCii, you get nonsense that comes up in the text translation box. But in the "base 64" box you get: amedoustesonehonotrelyonjleoug

So far this string has been anagrammed to:

a mouse does not rely on just one hole

(The "g" actually ends up being a coding error for "s" - Why is Persephone being so tricky?) According to Psytor, this is a phrase that is on the blast door map (The one only Locke got a look at in Season 2). It is also a direct quote from the Roman dramatist, Plautus. Click HERE to read more about him. Hmmm...

Maybe it's not ASCII??? What else could it be?

Over at unfiction, we think that maybe some of it says 'do not trust just me' or something like that. there's a lot left over, and it's just speculation anyway.

jenn jenn -- there's only two t's in the whole thing, and four in "do not trust just me"

maybe it is a coincidence, but there is a town called Amedou in Cameroon (central Africa) http://www.fallingrain.com/world/CM/0/Amedou.html. Probably nothing, but who knows!?

it seems like "jungle" should be one of the words...

dang it! i thought i had just discovered something. When you take the leftover letters from "do not rely on one message" (the leftover ones are: uehotjlou) and ROT13 them, you get "hrubgwybh" which you can spell "hugh" from. I was stuck after that, but anyway.

Good job psytor!

has anyone tried to put the names from the compass site into thehansofoundation.org like: ahanso.thehandsofoundation.org? That particular one just sends you right the main site, but maybe others will go somewhere else?

Maybe we should post what clues we have that we haven't figured out what to do with yet...it might come to us having it all put together

Could the "a mouse does not rely on one hole" phrase have to do with the fact that there were so many ways to get the password last night?

NB, You can type just about anything before the hansofoundation.org and you willbe taken to the site, try your name, try anything, it will work. I think it is P's way of telling us to not over think things, clues will come from many places and often get us to the same result because we all have different ways of coming to a solution.

Almost all of the clues have had more than one way of getting to them. Not everyone can decode ASCii or morse code, so the codes come to us from multiple areas.

Not to mention the vast array of mediums they can and will use to get clues out to us. And the marketing opportunities are astounding, why have they not made Namaste, Hanso and Dharma merchandise yet?

it seems to me that the 'other mouse hole' is that they're going to spell things out for us later, by, oh... say PUTTING A DIRECT LINK ON A FREAKING COMMERCIAL. that's what they've done before anyway.
regardless, good work gals and guys. i've since stopped losing sleep over this stuff as they're keeping everything pretty straightforward and easy to figure out eventually.

and, by the way, I LOVE THE PODCAST.

I think we need to relax and breath after yesterday and last night. Compile all of our clues and be ready for the next big thing. We have many loose ends and we will certainly get more. Great work to everyone that keeps this site up and puts in the hard work to figure out clues. Kuddos!!

and...Namaste

Not sure if anyone has made this connection yet, but in last nights episode when they were asking about Walt being in two places at once, that is the basis of remote viewing. I know that it has been mentioned in connection with the game too...maybe something to check out and keep an eye out for.

tt & verylost, they posted about the numbers from the Dharma packs in Clue #34. It is about halfway down...it's a long clue but the info is all there.

Okay, Some spoilers may be included here.
First... let me say HAHAHA to all those people who kept telling me that the things in the show would not make there way in to the game... I believe this is proof that the show can and will effect the game even if only in a slight way.

A mouse does not rely on just one hole... anybody?

Second... I will never buy a save joop T... I would make my own but feel no need to give someone else money, they should be ashamed of themeselves... This is the same attitude that made people rich off selling American flags on the street for $30 after 911... I weep for them...
Third...Lanie Grace Ever thought that whoever wrote it might have been...not in the right mind, so to speak... In the S1 dvd's Dominic said that he believes that the island brings out the better qualities of the human psychy...like His need to care for claire and such... Now the injections that Desmond took and that the others gave to micheal seem to repress these inner qualities allowing them to take irrational measures that they normally wouldn't
Fourth...has anyone yet figured out why oh, why some of us are still only getting that damn solid green screen at Let your compass. How are the masses supposed to see things if we can't see things?

C-ya and Namaste

Marty, I've been thinking along the same lines -- but I've been trying to use the old "gopher" protocol. (Thought of that while reading the stuff about "safe g" on www.thelostexperience.com. That and the fact that gopher servers were sometimes called "gopherholes.") I haven't managed to find anything yet. I wonder if the "CV IV" near the "mouse" quote on the map has anything to do with it? A port number, maybe?
