*Interesting note: After the podcast, we started receiving emails that there was a "hack" on savejoop.com. Basically their banner has been changed to flash and every 30 seconds there is static and it says "Don't believe the lies." I'm now officially mad at Shaun and will pester him until I get a straight answer.

Good stuff guys. Have you considered using archive.org to ease your bandwidth pains? It allows you to link directly to the file so listeners don't have to go through their site at all to listen and you can embed it in the feed.

i just did a quick search of the site and didn't find anything, so i was curious as to whether or not anyone figured out the significance (or lack thereof) of the message code 3G3TC1 that you get when you call the hanso number?

i just tried the number my self and got 68-4 with the same message so the number could be a regonial thing or a phone company specific error message.

Someone on another message board mentioned that the message code "3G3TC1" can also be seen as GGGTTTC, a genetic sequence. whether that means anything or not, who knows.. particularly since everyone seems to be getting a different message! it certainly didn't sound like a phone company quality message, but who knows.

sarah you need to highlight the text of the Ninja's most recent post the secret phrase/question/password is down the bottom of the post. I haven't picked it apart for clues as to where in Melbourne to go as I have no hope of getting there (I'm in Newcastle). Though I did notice that the Ninja said 'sun' instead of 'spun'... The Sun newspaper offices or something?

I bought the audiobook so we audio-philes better not be left out of the possibly cipering...

Was in bed listening to the podcast before going to sleep and I ended up which my jaw agape while doing the rock n' roll sign with my hand that wasn't holding the iPod.

Guys, I'm blushing. Seriously. Guess I don't need to mope that I'm never mentioned in the clue thank yous... audio shout-outs rule! Text ones drool! :)

Alright. Real life calls. And I'm not sure that we should separate the worlds all together yet. Don't think it's ever going to be in the way we've been thinking of in the past but still... LOST is fictional and are using real-life facts like Hanso. Though Hugh said Dharma was cancelled in the 80s...

Really, we just need a human aspect to it. The characters from LOST are the only human aspect we have thus far. We need it to feel connected to the story and follow along with the mystery of the experience to the extent that we have thus far. Until the people behind the Experience give us more of an emotional connection... we're gonna keep reaching for the connections.

We NEED it. I NEED it. And they've got to find it again.

ooh sarah, if you want! I haven't checked bookstores though online they seemed to be very expensive. Local library has one copy and of course it is out at the moment.

K.barrick that does seem to be the coded question :D

Ah... goodness. ::shaking head::

That WILL be quite a feat... asking a stranger that question.

Can't wait to hear how it goes.

And no wonder they gave us the answer in the final episode. :)

Good luck Aussies!

Not sure about the ruling out of show related stuff. I mean if we are to assume the show is based off information assertained from Hanso (assuming Hanso as real) then there is still every reason to reference information from it (the only thing it would theoretically rule out is considering characters from Lost to be directly involved). There are three people/groups that have had used info about Hanso and have been spoken out against by Hanso. Persephone, Gary Troup and the makers of Lost. If we're supposed to be getting info from the fictional book Bad Twin, why shouldn't we be getting info from the fictional show Lost? Take the blast door map for instance? The quote about mouse holes is on the door, in the show and was also used by Persephone in an in game clue! That takes us directly to the other info on the blast door which is the perfect place to hide game related info amongst all the other stuff. So maybe a character from Lost won't come out in Lost or the game as being Persephone, that's fine, but that doesn't mean that there aren't clues to be found in the show and if it is meant to be metafiction and not fiction (in the game world at least) then we could find clues for the show in the game. Why not? Again it may not be that Mittlewerk is HIM but there could for example be information about the projects if they are based on information about the in game version of Hanso.

So personally I'm going to keep open minded about finding clue information in the show or considering information from the game for speculating about things in the show. If I'm wasting my time fine, but if we ignore, for example, the possibility of Persephone referencing something from the show for a password or url (considering the show exists in the game world and therefore is a valid source for Persphone to use) then we may miss something vital.

It does seem very fishy that he would cop out like that. I do believe he has been "Compromised" and that he sold out to ABC. why we don't know but only time will tell in this "Experience"

If you're into the game, the (simple) flash addition is definitely a neat way to garner more attention to the shirts. And if ABC HAS decided to hide something within the site, let's hope in this case, SaveJoop isn't making extra money off of it and that they're doing it just for fun like you said. Not because I don't want to see RandomShirts avoid profiting from their efforts, but because that DOES seem like a breaking of the trust you thought you had, and that's not cool.

In other words, I think you may be over-reacting, but if your inklings are correct, then it is totally fair for you to react negatively. Fight the power... uh-- I mean, Namaste.

Matt & everyone,

I was thrown off but I don't know if that is a good thing or not. Should a game have that much power?

Anways, I deleted my last comment because I just got off the phone with Shaun. He said he had read my comment. After talking to him for a second, I remembered how friendly he was and felt bad about the tone of frustration that I took in my last comment. I apologized to him and wanted to apologize to everyone that read it. I got a little too into "the game" and became personally frustrated. That was my fault, not his. He was way cool about it.

He is playing the game with us and playing it well. His final word on the phone was "Until you see an actual clue on savejoop.com, you have no reason to believe that we are affiliated with ABC" and that's all he would say. I pressed him little for a direct "yes" or "no" and he still wouldn't give it to me. I've looked over the site and don't see anything "persephonish" so for now, don't think that there is anything to get too excited about. But I'll be watching...

This game has got me spinning.

Amen, K.Barrick and Fenris! I still think the ARG is pointless unless it ties back to the show at some point. So, put me firmly in that camp. Persephone has told us not to believe his lies, so I think Hugh (on Kimmel) talking about the show being "fictional" and Dharma being ended was bogus.

I FINALLY got my computer to cooperate with me so I could listen to the podcasts. What a chore! But the payoff was awesome...thanks for the shoutout!

I went to page source again for joop.com and in the meta tags list at top there are lots of what you would pretty much expect EXCEPT ONE WIERD ONE???

Here is the list:

meta http-equiv="keywords" content="joop, orangutang, lost, abc, hanso foundation, hanso, foundation, lost experience, www.thelostexperienceclues.com, Persephone, Hugh McIntyre, lost clues, island, Dharma, randomshirts.com, random, shirts, funny shirts, funny tee shirts, t-shirts, humorous, save joop, Mittelwerk"

THAT LAST ONE...WHY would Mittelwerk be in that list????????????

6/01/2006 11:51:00 AM
Blogger DJ Lena said...

Then why not Thomson or Candle or ANY of the OTHER people involved in this game??????

Blogger DJ Lena said...

OK what I meant was ANY of the others from the hanso website? Yes they have Hugh, but thats because he mentioned savejoop in his interview, but there are LOTS of charactors on the hanso site...why only Mittelwerk?
