I (David) just realized something really stupid that I did a long time ago. When I started this blog, I used what I believed to be the "official" TLE logo as a part of our banner and our podcast graphic. I was ignorant of the fact that TLE.com was a fan site and didn't even think about asking permission for or giving credit for the art. I just came to my senses and did some research. To reitterate what I indicated about the image found in iga.swf(the counter) called "horah".
"Horah!" is something commonly yelled together during a Jewish dance. It can also refer to a style of music, a specific dance, and a general exclamation of celebration.
Perhaps this is preempting some sort of small victory soon to come.
Regardless, I believe simply having a new topic to post on is worthy of a grand community "Horah!" from us all.

Just catching up. Some more interesting info.
REALLY sorry to hear about antecedent (did he get too close to a clue? Were THF involved? Was that really Mrs Antecedent? LOL)but glad to hear he is ok.
ROTFLMAO @ jd getting the registry cleaner pop-up. I work in a computer shop and I see problems like that all the time.
I think pretty much all has been said about the new clue unless someone finds something else to follow. (text boxes in the countdown message struck me as odd though. I wanted to try "the numbers" but there were only 5 fields).
I guess plenty of time for research then. My list is slightly updated but it was really a list of topics. I started to try to fill the topics but very quickly realised it to be a task of monumentous proportions. I guess that will be the task of the new layout etc.
oh, and maybe the countdown is just a smokescreen to make us -want- to ignore LOST stuff until then. We'll overlook some little things they will do and they shall cackle in all of their evil Mittlewerk goodness!
Also, I get the feeling the Hanso Foundation is like Walmart now. The original founder of Walmart was a great guy, but the new owner is satan and has made Walmart evil. Perhaps Mittelwerk has done the same. Alvar Hanso was maybe a great visionary that died and his image is just kept around because Mittelwerk feels too weak to be in the public eye. All of this seems to be supported by clues from "Bad Twin", especially the recent Australian clues.

I just had an epiphany.
What if someone -for real-, not as part of the game, hacked them and put up some crappy thing just to jerk around with us? That would explain every bit of poor quality to it. Everything then makes sense. From the language to the countdown to the poor and rather lame Flash that is highly different from THF.org Flash work in the past.

Perhaps the coutdown clock is a clue too. 4:00 PM EST 6/7/06 appears to be the end time. Speaker said his birthday was on 6/8/06. Where is it 6/8/06 00:00:00:001 AM at 4:00:00:001 PM EST tomorrow? Could that also be in the same timezone as the 4 degrees 8 minutes 15 seconds East, 16 degrees 23 minutes 42 seconds South location?
The text and size are all wrong. Not to mention the Flash is amateur work.
I'm telling you. It makes sense that someone is screwing with us. It is either that, or we are to believe there is a second hacker that frankly lacks skill.

when you hit the RSS button at the bottom of the page, it still has the old update of the WWdp page. no mention of the IGA project page.
It would place the countdown at around Fiji, wouldn't it? I mean, if you move through the time zones to show a new day at 5PM Central Standard Time, the only place starting a new day is the Fiji area.
I happen to be a believer that analysing the flash is just as valid as analysing HTML and Photo's etc. TBTB are surely aware that many of us will do this (if not right away then they sure do by now). Things that they do not want to be seen YET shouldn't be there. They are surely that intelligent.
What if everyone stopped doing that and TPTB decided to have a clue in there and we missed it?
There are so many talents here it seems unfair to isolate that one.

With this latest clue there was much speculation that it was just a placeholder as we were all bored so it would be kind of irrelevant that it came from this other place as it fits anyway. It hasn't spoiled anything really. And there is enough to analyse already without entering into searching about jew etc.

Something that has been touched on (initially by lena I think) that the message seemed strange. Is it someone else. If so maybe they are trying to act as persephone somehow. Maybe the fact that THF would never normally use rubbish flash like this is because this is deliberately all supposed to look amateur and someone else. The page EviL^^ had found may be an important clue in that direction.
All IMHO and there could be many other interpretations. Sorry if anyone disagrees.
javy, it is sad because "she" left in a piece of an old example flash file that led us to get all LOST nerdy about the hidden image of "Horah!". So... it wasn't a clean Flash file, and the LOST people know by now that we decode these Flash files. Thus, it is simply degligence on their part.
Unless, of course, as some prostrate, this is evidence of a loser either another bad hacker or someone unrelated to the game messing with us with poor style and effort.
Still, my last find about the new day around Fiji intrigues me. (not to mention the addition of being able to change the text is different and new from the example countdown. thus, it must mean something. Either that, or negligence on their part again.)

There are so many reasons for thinking that P did not write that message including the fact that there DOES seem to be another hacker from a previous clue (recent one at that) "Persephone, if you can read this, I know who you are.".
Sounds like the other hacker might be trying to impersonate Persephone.

Someone mentioned that the flash file from the karupa site did not allow you to enter text into the boxes. A teaser or something important? A reason I think the karupa site may have been good site to find.

um... When the clock gets down to 0 when you actually fully wait, the time around Fiji will hit midnight. So, it is a countdown to a new day (aka. also 6/8/06, which the Speaker says is his birthday) in the area around Fiji(aka. where we think the island is).

I think there may be a reason for the "other hacker" to be doing this. It is maybe a long shot but maybe she wants to impersonate as persephone to get information from us about something. I am having difficulty in trying to vision in my head how TPTB would manage to encorporate something like this successfully into the game but I find the idea VERY intriguing.

Alright, this will be long and purely theoretical, so if you don't go in for that - save yourself some time.
Here's what I believe the status is (some game, some show, I still believe the two are meant to play off of each other): THF did initially fund the DHARMA Initiative. Those scientists who signed up for DHARMA did so with benevolent intentions, but found out that THF was using their findings in not so benevolent ways. They then "rebelled" (for lack of a better word) against THF and hid their work/findings from THF. In turn, THF cut their funding. Our beloved P is either somehow linked to the DHARMA folks, or is sympathetic towards them and is trying to bring THF's true character to light. There is another hacker following in P's footsteps and either trying to help or hinder her work, we really don't know yet. This in mind, at this point I don't think we can really know who to trust, what their motivations are, or where they are trying to 'lead' us.

Now, did anyone think that the video with the podcast dialogue was intentional by DJ Dan? If so, I'd say that all DJ Dan did was create a podcast. -Then- Persephone made a video with the podcast audio voicing her opinion on how DJ Dan has sold out.
To my point: Persephone has indeed been caught. I believe that their removal of her input is a sign of the times. A podcast stripped of her thoughts. Perhaps the Hanso site will revert to a safe and fine website after the countdown, clearly erasing all of Persephone's damage. Maybe this is the end of our leader.

What is the reason (from a programmers point of view) for allowing entry into text boxes in the swf file of the countdown from the latest clue? Would this feature have had to have been added or is there some other explaination? A call to all you Flash designers out there.

I see readding posts that another possible theory is coming. It is something that I had thought of too.
Maybe the reason for the flash and rushed message is that Persephone has been scrutinised and she finds it hard to get in touch. When worse maybe she has been captured/being held and Even worse drugged/tortured for information of some kind. This would explain the rushed stuff.
And maybe the timer is for when her plan will take place somehow.

Thus, theories that it generally refers to the modification of something or something looking like one thing but being another. I'm sure the "heavy water" clue probably just has some sort of dastardly nuclear arms deal side story or something. But for the moment, we can speculate, right?

This comments section had over 150 messsages in just four hours. It is getting popular.
There are some action scripts going on in that .swf that are pretty crazy. I mean, using insanely large numbers for seemingly no purpose. It is rather strange.
Actually, it is really weird. When you look at all the components... this .swf is a ton more complex than the original countdown it ripped off. I mean, it leaves in a few pieces here and there like the Horah! and some black pieces, but the amount of action scripts is a lot larger, and the frame count is huge. The text boxes seem to either be empty or related to a number sequence of some sort. It really is oddly complex for how shoddy it seems at first.
Maybe it was supposed to come off as unimpressive but actually be complex. This intrigues me.
Mention them here, Moxy. Gary Troup's "Bad Twin" it technically included as part of the game. So, if you think you've noticed anything, just speak your peace. We'll hear you out and see if it is something new. ^^

Well on a finishing note for today I would like to say this.
There has been so much research done on this whole Lost Experience stuff throughout this thing. It seems to me that it has taken many by storm and thanks to blogs like this, more and more people are getting involved. I think that this really will have been an experience for all of us and hopefully new games will evolve from it "BECAUSE OF US". We are breaking records here I am sure.
I think that it may be possible for people to think that the work being done here is meaningless. ie Stick to the clues and when it comes to researching all this off the cuff stuff (valnazetti, who is persephone and all the other unanswered stuff) there is no point. I think however that digging for all this background info means two things. When the bigger picture arises later in the game (hopefully we were on the right track) we will appreciate all the work done as a true understanding of the conclusion and also the feeling of a good job well done.
The fact is sticking to the clues (and getting through the game happily doing so) may well bring you to the end but will it be anywhere near as fulfilling. And could you truly comprehend what the experience is all about?
I am truly warmed to see so many newcomers tonight (and one in particular I like what they said (hanso careers change). Please post. ALL of you. We are making history and enjoying it at the same time.

rhettoric - For some reason I seem to recall that one of the recent podcasts told us that Gary Troupe is important to us because of what he can tell us about the Valenzetti equation, so I think you're on the right track for that.
I know I've said this before, but with more people starting to point in the direction of the Valenzetti thing, I strongly suggest you read the Wiki entry on Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and his Omega Point. Specifically in the Omega Point theory, it talks of a physicist who presumably had worked out an "end of the world" type theory that I have yet to find. The physicist was Frank J. Tipler who calculates out to "the Big Crunch"; pretty much the opposite of "the Big Bang". I found this wiki article particularly interesting since it lists the occurences of the Omega Point in Pop Culture (i.e. Isaac Asimov and Mr. Bungle). If nothing else, it's interesting reading for the next 18 hours or so...

Looks like the monitor accidentally broke down for a moment today and that led to some false positives when they started it again. So they removed those pretty quickly. That sounds about right.

TETF - I think that one has yet to be identified as a clue... the diFFTR731 is similar to earlier 2FEN06. Both seem to use some rather specific military abbreviations. Abbreviations which refer to activities in the south pacific, especially involving communication between islands earlier in the century. Some say their frequencies could still be received after all these years as residual signals.

I think it's safe to say this is an official, in-game site. I DVR Boston Legal every week. As soon as I saw the message that there was a site advertised on a Hanso commerical, I checked my recording (still in process) of tonight's BL episode. About 15 minutes in, there is a Hanso commercial, the same one we've seen throughout the entire game. It give the retrieversoftruth.com website, right at the very end of the commercial, just like they did HansoCareers, Sublymonal, etc.

Anyway, FWIW, I totally agree with you. My husband (who is oo7surge) told me about the website as soon as bgoal posted it. I went to it and told him it was a fake too. Until he mentioned that bgoal saw it on BL, which I reminded him I was recording. So we rewound the recording and saw the commercial. He's currently working on getting the entire commerical uploaded (anyone know a movie hosting site he can post it to?) and hopefully that will clear up any problems about the validity of the site.
I still believe it's a red-herring, "busy work" as my husband called it to misdirect us until the real clues start pouring in again.
Is it just me, or does Dr. Yellow Lab look like he got mauled by a dog when he was a child? I mean, daaaamn, that man is unattractive. In a completely creepy way.

I thnik it's wrong to dismiss the content of the clues because of the percieved quality of the webmastery. Verizon has been a sponsor from Day 1, and now they appear on the scene. The fact that this new area looks and feels different is not a surprise -- it is not a THF site. THF is merely a sponsor of ROTF. This is meant to be funny, people. ROTF. And I think it's great that there will be some more humorous aspects to the ARG-world, in addition to the heavy espionage stuff.
Dr. Bole' is definitely a flake. But that doesn't mean we won't get some good stuff from this trail. Hanso himself is mentioned, and Buddy Clinton was a life enhancement experiment! Please people, make sure Joop doesn't get off his leash and run through the streets of Westchester!
Also, can anybody do anything with the photos behind Vincent the Dog ("VtD") in on the Clairvoyance page? The layout and captions seem to be telling us that there is something hidden behind. I remember people talking about moving photos into Adobe and finding hidden images behind, but I don't know how to do that. The top picture especially seems to be hiding something.
VtD is here for a reason, and (what's behind) his thoughts will reward us.

I guess the question still stands:
Do the coordinates 4 degrees 8 minutes 15 seconds East, 16 degrees 23 minutes 15 seconds South fall within the timezone that will be the start of 6/8/06? So far, the timezone in question falls along the middle east. And, remember that the original orientation would have been based off of Giza.
The next question is, does the tangent of this point hit one of our targets on the MFI map? The tangent in question would appear to be the one associated with 108 degrees.

i'm not seeing this latest change as it's presented here. what i get on the GA page are twinkly cells in the corner and when you mouse over them the words "Retriever of Truth" appear in the X-ray. There is also a text field to the bottom right under the picture of the scientists. no clue what to type here. neither word "disease" is highlighted or underlined or clickable. and i see no countdown.
