Clue #51 - Persephone (18) Magic Word & DJDan

Go to the Electromagnetic Research Inititative page on the Hanso Foundation site and click the picture. A message from Persephone pops up asking for the magic word. If you look closely, you can also see the faint image of a radio tower in the "early morning" picture. The magic word is "conspiraspies". Inside you'll find info about the Vik Institute and other fascinating insights. Click the word "offshore" and it will link you to DJDan's site.

Oddly enough...everything is inter-connected...There is also a new DJDan podcast up and it points you to Retrievers of Truth. However, on DJDan's site, if you click on the radio tower image on the homepage (the same one that faintly appeared on the ERI page), it will take you to http://www.thehansofoundation.org/swf/extra/spies/ where you will find a static-looking picture which says "conspira" hidden within.

Transcript of the letter for those who can't read it:

-SPOILERS for people who haven't found the clue-

…believe this is something we can both agree on

Dr. Mittlework, in recent years my honorable government has turned a blind eye to the questionable activities of your off-shore research station due to the lucrative business partnerships the Hanso Group has offered the proud people of this nation. Your joint venture in the Paik Motors, for example, is a matter of great national pride, and we wish to continue doing that level of business with your firm.

However, I need to present my superiors with an accounting of your activities. Since the construction of your offshore antenna, we have had numerous disruptions in the local telecommunications infrastructure, the navigational systems of our fishing fleets and ever our ability to access our satellites from the area appear to have been impaired.

Additionally, we have begun to receive reports of deformed fish and other aberrant changes in the wildlife around your electromagnetic research facility. Given this, it is simply impossible for me to continue to tell my government that your research is outside of our national interest.

My influence in parliament is not unlimited. If this scandal over your off-shore antenna project reaches a national scale, I fear the Hanso Group’s fiduciary role will be severely crippled, and your multi-million dollar research venture may be forced into open international waters or even fired upon by naval units.

Consider this warning to be light in ______, but weighty in its urgency. I require a response within the next 48 hours, or I shall be forces to take up the matter with my superiors.

Regard, (signature)

Hoo-Gon Choi

srsizzy, in your earlier post, were you expressing frustration that we didn't give you credit? You said: "Wow, check the forums linked to this site. I posted all the answers there before this blog was up."

First I want to say, WAY TO GO! I'm so sorry if you don't feel like you got the credit you deserved. I hate it when that happens. I wish you would have emailed us so we could have gotten it up earlier.

Second, Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that the 3 of us cannot possible be responsible for having our eyes everywhere at one time and always giving credit to the first person in the world who found something. Mostly we acknowledge the people that send us emails unless we happen to be reading the comments or message board at that specific time. Message to all: Please remember to email us with anything pertinent!

As always - we are grateful to be participating in this game with such great people and we are greatly disturbed if we feel like we've offended anybody. Srsizzy...are we cool?

The use of the word animus could mean hatred or animosity, but it could also relate to Carl Jung's Anima/Animus concept. Animus to Jung means the unconscious male attributes and potentials in an unconscious of a woman. May be too deep for game purposes, but just thought I'd pass it along since the game is full of philosophical references.

To explain the magic eye a little may help you to see it but it may not.

The idea with a magic eye (aka stereogram) is that there is something that you cannot see in the image under normal focus. ie just looking at it. You have to "focus" on a spot behind the picture. eg pretend your monitor is a window. If you were looking at a window you would be focused on it. You would clearly see any stains/marks on the window. Now if you instead focus on an object in the distance eg a tree you are looking in the same direction but you are no longer focused on the window. If the windows was a magic eye picture then you may see the hidden message at this point.
However with a monitor it is not so easy to focus on a point beyond (behind the screen) because there is no such real physical point to focus on, but this is what you must do. Try looking to the side of the monitor and on a point in the distance (if you can) and then move your point of view to the pic on the monitor but keeping that distant focus. You will not see anything right away but if you try and maintain that focus you will hopefully slip into the correct focus needed to see the hidden message.

By the way. I found this one quite hard due to the dimentions of the pic (the rest of the stuff on my monitor made it harder for me to focus on the text.

As a by the way, another way you can do it is instead of focusing into the distance you could go cross eyed (the opposite: this would be focusing on a point closer than the pic). The resulting hidden message is not as clear but you can still make it out.

Just posted this in case another magic eye came up and I hoped it may help someone. If not I am sorry for wasting your time with this long post.

Thanks "administrator", I wasn't saying that I had found it all first, because some of it was help from other people/me find the same stuff as other people at the same time (ie, we all found the same clues at the same time), so it's all good. We post as quickly as we find stuff but nobody can be on top all the time unless they are being fed "official" info (i.e. Speaker).

Our goal here is just to 1. Keep all the clues organized, clear, chronological (as they are given) and concise and 2.provide a friendly forum for interaction and ideas.

Shaun316,
I know that Speaker, Ninja, & UK Blogger are "insiders" b/c I've emailed with all of them individually. We chatted about having them on the podcast. In a nutshell, they couldn't do it because they're "backers" said they couldn't. Speaker spoke on behalf of all 3. Essentially, they weren't allowed to promote a non-affiliated site. Best I could gather though, they each have different "levels" of connectedness...meaning, they don't all get the same information all the time. Speaker gets the most & the best...then Ninja...then UK Blogger (she is probably the least dedicated of the 3 and most out of the loop).

They are all also "players" in the game. I'm pretty sure Speaker only receives information meaning he is not one of the "creators" of the game. I could be wrong on this...

nystingray, I agree. There is definitely something fishy going on with the Persephone & DJDan connection. The questions are and always have been: Can we really trust their information? All we have now are best guesses & hunches based on great, detailed observations like yours...

I copy the SWF files out of the Temporary Internet Files Directory (assuming you are using windows and IE).

It is usually located at (where USERNAME is your user name):

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

Click the type column to sort by type, then scroll down to the Shockwave Flash Objects types.

You should see all of the cached flash files. Just copy the one you want to open to another directory (i.e. desktop), and open it from there.

She seems kinda upset about the ID questioning/theft. I think she's clean. Wonder why TPTB would mess with her like that? Probably just trying to give her a shout out and didn't realize that it'd get messy. Shouldn't they know better...

lavenda/lena - I caught the Apollo in the code as well, but didn't think much of it at the time (not knowing a lot about html). I sort of just dismissed it. I'm also pretty interested in the myth end of this, and have started to gear my blogspot towards that end (hoping to get some real info up this week). If you think it's going to be pertinent, I can add it to my list I've started. Hopefully, everyone who has posted about the myth pieces in the past remembers them, and can comment/email me with what they had, and I'll add it to that page. If you want, check it out here and add what you can/if you will. As always, I'll do my best to keep the proper kudos to those who find/post the info.

The Persephone and Pandora pieces are very long, they're in the theories part of the messageboard linked from this blog... I offer them to anyone who wants to use them, if they'll be of use... but they could probably do with a re-write. As for anything else... Oh dear. Work late one night without time to log on and join in and I miss the biggest payday so far informationwise. Drat and double drat.

I have a question though. What exactly did someone do to the "link" image to get Conspira out of it? I've got photoshop but I'm no expert with it. I had a fiddle (already knowing what the clue was, but curious) and couldn't get close. What was I doing wrong?

So we know what Dharma stands for. Interesting. No actual podcast from DJDan but lots of links between the sights. Links being the keyword here. Seems they are trying to tell us P, ROT and Dan are in cahoots. Nothing huge there, but it still leaves a questionmark over the hacked Podcast.

Also the pictures from hole2 and hole4 and the phantom "save me" in the hole3 picture that was replaced later are still unconcluded. Would they spend all that time with visuals for them to be meaningless? Or maybe it is just a matter of who's faces they are with hole3 guy needing saving?

Of course we still have some entry boxes, but as we've seen with the mental health one they probably aren't active yet and will be later. Same can probably be said for discovered websites like the horde (which is a part of the hanso site). We've not been directed there properly so it's probably not in game yet.

We've been pointed to ROT, but nothing actually seems new there aside from the possibility of a new code in the newsletter.

Oh yes and the new clue referenced Paik.

I'm starting to think, we've had a lot of show related links this time around. Perhaps it's time to look at how they link up a bit.

I don't know if this was posted, I haven't seen it anywhere, but you guys all comment so fast that I may have skipped it.

On the RoT site, inside the message board, someone posted a link to richerdeeperbroader.com (I know this has been found). I'd been to the website when it was first discovered but really saw nothing of interest so I forgot about it. Today, I was playing around with it, trying to see if there was some "in game" reason for it to be on the boards, when I came across something that was new to me.

If you click the link for "Pursue Dreams", you will find a connecting link to a site, realizeambition.com - from there, choose News and Events, then click on the link for Dream 254: Verizon Incubator. It is the story of a woman starting her business in Philadelphia. Nothing great there ... but in the top right corner, there is a login/password box marked "realizer use only".

Has this been seen before, and, if so, has it been ruled in or out of game? If it hasn't .... what's everyone's opinion?

tantiv/maia - try going to the url in the Hanso RSS page (http://www.thehansofoundation.org/#section=genomic). I know a lot of people were having trouble with this one.

fenris/welovecov - I agree that there is still something more to the pics. Especially since we have seen 3 of these & one pic of the Dr. from the MHA page with his face blackened out. I think there is something more to the "facless man" imagery and/or pictures. Maybe "faceless man" itself is a clue?

Wiz - at first I thought the same thing. Just some shameless plug for a Verizon publicity stunt. But the more I read on the page about this "experiment" (they locked the woman in a storefront, esentially a glass box, for 21 days to see if she could jump start her growing business. She would be given tasks, and if she completed them to the "Oracle's" satisfaction, she was rewarded ... if she failed, there were reprecussions ...!!??) the more I started to think that, had this truly happened (I believe the dates on the press releases pointed to a September 2005 kick off), there would have been more publicity.

Perhaps I am just grasping here. It's getting to the point where I look for clues and correlations everywhere ... and it's starting to annoy me.

A possible tip if something doesn't work for eg passwords in THF.

Install another browser like firefox (the obvious one to use other than internet explorer). Stick to your main browser for general use but if you have a problem like this it usually resolves itself in time. So instead of waiting try accessing the site using the different browser. It may mean having to repeat some clues (but I don't think so) but you will probably get it this way unless you are extremely unlucky.

Is it a mistake (I don't see why) or does 6x6 mean something (other than 36 or is that the clue?)?

Sorry.

The page I got showed this.

I guess it was just a glitch. What are the odds. New password/clue (maybe) and this happens. Hmph

Someone over at ITE has mentioned that 6x6 means grave, 6 feet long by 6 feet deep, is DJ Dan dead?

Thrasher: I think it maybe 6:30. On the ROT forum iobiSeeingyou on 06/07 at 6:30 referenced the richerdeeperbroader.com site. It has to be something in there. I always thought it odd that on the "feel the music" link there's a blank billboard (wouldn't Verizon had put something there to advertise themselves?)! Instead, it has faint lettering. I know we've already looked at it, but I really feel something is in there. I just don't have the skills to get it.

Maven, I think that billboard is nothing. On that page, Verizon is announcing a music service that starts in July. My impression is that the covered billboard relates to launching that service.

But, I could certainly be wrong.

Quote from summary of "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time". Main character is a savant named Christopher.

"Christopher's difficulties with his emotions are particularly poignant. "Feelings," he says, "are just having a picture on the screen in your head of what is going to happen tomorrow or next year, or what might have happened instead of what did happen..."

This book looks much more interesting than Bad Twin

ROT is a front for the Verizon group led by DSLerator.

We know that, but apparently Hanso doesn't, or they would not be advertising the site in their TV commercials.

ROT is fake in a way. A lot of things to indicate this.
I think the various "clues" on the page suggest it to be fake and just a cover as you suggest. In other words do not take any clues from main ROT page as to be leading to something in-game I think.
