Finally! After a long wait, the DJDan podcast is up. Came from Retriever of Truth forum as expected. Go to the Retrievers of Truth site and type in "porter" for your email address. In the Message Board, click on the post entitled "Too Legit to Quit". Read through everything and then copy and past the URL in the bottom into your browser or direct link HERE.

So, I just listened to the podcast again, and it seems to me that DJ Dan was more cynical towards his callers on this one. He *almost* seems to be poking fun at Dubuque (raisin-cinnamon toast) and Franklin (the caller about nanotech/nanites). I'm wondering again about Dan's credibility in wanting to "shutdown" the man. Was anyone working on determining the sequence of the podcasts? (other than the sequence we received them in) If so, has anything been found?

roomforhuman/arisero... - The black smoke on the island was thought to be nanotech in season 1. I don't know that it was ever directly dismissed, but as I mentioned in the last comments, there was a Ask Javi podcast in which he is answering emaails. In his answer to one of them he said "It's not nanotech, ok! It's not!". Unfortunately, he didn't read the question he was responding to, so I don't know if this was it, but strongly suspect it. rach79 - I have heard one theory that has some merit: some have said that the plane never did really crash. They think the passengers were drugged (this being based on the theory that THF or DHARMA owns oceanic airlines) and that a THF/DHARMA "insider" landed the plane on the island(s) and then they were all cryogenically frozen for study/treatments/etc. Then the crash was staged so they believed they crashed, and they are being observed. There may be more to it, but this is the general idea, and could explain the healing of Locke (paralysis) and Rose (cancer). I don't really buy it myself, but you never know. I think I read this on The Fuselage, if you want to hunt it down.
Also there is a lot of mention of masts lately.

Lainie, that is only true after you have typed in "porter" If you close all your browsers and re-enter the ROT site, when you enter in something other than porter it says "please enter a valid email address"
Just to clarify.

This is common. If you go to the ROT site and enter porter you can then enter anything after that. Once you have been off the ROT site for a while (say about half an hour) and go back it will be reset again so that you must enter porter. It is rather annoying really. It is something to do with the cache or similar I think.

Yes roomforhuman. I mentioned it in the last comments (though it had been mentioned already. It is in the main clue section) but everyone had moved here. I agree. It seems that this offshore link was meant to say "see podcast for more info". I don't see how it can help us solve a clue though. The hex codes are more likely I would have thought. But maybe the hex codes will need more podcasts to make sense.
Who knows.
rach79 - That's one of the things I enjoy about this board... pretty much a wide-open area. I haven't seen any real cliques form, or nastiness; like what seems to happen in other places. Everyone here seems to really enjoy the fresh ideas and in-sights from a new poster.

What strikes me about the blast door map is that I am sure it was written invisibly deliberately so that DHARMA and co could not find it. It was the people in the hatch pressing the button who after a while thought "what the f*&@" is this all about. And this is how they logged all their findings while trying to figure out what was going on.
It could also suggest that these are members of the GOOD ONES associated with Persephone and co. Could explain the link between the map and the clue somehow. (I still think that Penelope is possibly Persephone (or at least on similar ground) and she knows of the island (I think this is what was found at the end of season 2) and there is a bit of an inside (good guy) thing going on. Mutiny and all.

Nice Thrasher. I read the post lena pointed out and I got caught up. But YES. He did sound more cynical and if the podcasts were playing backwards this could make sense. (there was no Tanya too at this point). Not sure if there is any clue as to the dates the podcasts actually happened though.
How did you come up with the backwards thing lena? was it just a hunch. Because now three of us have it(at least).

Maybe its just cause I like sci-fi....but I found it completely unreasonable that DJ Dan had never ever heard of nano-technology. Isnt nanotech a conspiracy theorist's bread-n-butter nowadays?

ghetto, gotta say I agree. Everyone has heard of nanotechnology. Unless he's never watched Star Trek, Dr.Who, Red Dwarf or pretty much any other sci-fi series created in the last 20 years. Bit odd considering his job. It's not like you need to be a scientist to have heard of the idea.
It seems so obvious he should have been more aware of the idea it makes me wonder more and more if he has been compromised somehow. Or maybe he was just being patronising to his audience, I dunno.

Something is definately up, either this is an old podcast or he isnt the same person. Maybe he got 'taken care of' and his killers are replaying old podcasts like they are new so we dont think hes gone.

his podcast today was really generic and NO TONYA. He didnt seem nearly as serious either. No mention of persephone.
BASICALLY...NO BLING BLING EITHER!! LOL What I mean is, no groovy background music like the others, sound quality is VERY poor (listen while he speaks of LSD, the sound volume drops). Here my point is HE HAS NO SPONSERS YET...backwards huh...
I wouldnt drop the idea of Persephone being his wife just yet (not sure either way) but maybe as this Hanso thing started to be a real concern for Dan, his wife became the hacker. Who knows about that...just saying it doesnt rule it out.

I don't think I would necessarily say DJDan was late with the podcast... maybe it was sent to the ROT guys on time but of course it is then dependant on when they pass on it's location.
Do we have any information that can date the previous DJDan podcasts to anything other than between May 5th (when Persephone started hacking) and now? Obviously the first one was between May 5th and May 16th to appear on his site. And the last one with the shark photo being mentioned had to have been before the 16th too as the shark pic was on his site right from the start. Might go and read them again and see how he references Persephone
I've been thinking this since Persephone mentioned her lack of sleep... either she is on the run, or has to restrict her hacking and snooping activities to the night yet having to work a normal day, lots of travel (which could link to the first option, but could also be because she is on the move with DJDan :-D)... or too stressed to get much sleep... or other possibilities
Also, with these last couple of clues we have been given a bit more on the Korean off-shore thing... will we get details on Sri Lanka next (which was also mentioned on the initial phone messages)? I think this is leading to more stuff about Widmore too, but probably not till closer to Season 3 when Australia and the UK are more caught up with the show

The reason I personally follow DJDan more than anything is he is the only thing that seems to "connect" all the in game sites together. Think about this...even persephone giving us clues to the whereabouts of Dans podcast makes the HANSO website include him! Its the only clue that ties in to every website so far! Not even persephone does.

Wow! Everyone is doing such an awesome job with research. I'm finding the subject matter, even separate from the "Experience", to be quite facinating.
I consider myself one of the more "average" participants in this ARG. Heck, I've been riding on everyone's coat tails for the last five or six clues at least! LOL
From my perspective it seems like the ARG is starting to tie itself to the show a lot more. As the show gets closer to the end of season two outside of the U.S. it's a good time to do it. I don't recall them saying they would *never* tie the two together. :) Anyway, all of the pics they've been showing us recently have reminded me of the Island on the show. I'm not convinced everything we've seen recently ties to the Korean Off-Shore Project mentioned by Hanso. Obviously, they have multiple initiaves... could we be seeing more than one off-shore project?
I agree with lab tech. I thought nano technology solved a lot of stuff on LOST, especially the monster, and personally, I think the way this all was described in the podcast, it is the writers laughing about the possibility again.
In the LOST community, we used key terms such as "rain cloud" like monster and "nanites" and its connection to electromagnetism. Then, Damon Lindelof said that there was no nano technology going on; though, we did get the bone about "what do you consider nano bots?" It's all just to throw us off as usual.
The important thing from this podcast, I think, is all about the mind control. The tower he is referring to was shown in the last clue making that extremely load noise similar to the season 2 finale noise. Also, he is saying that despite seeing the tower, they can't see any island base or anything.
Maybe that tower protects the island from being found unless it is found by accident? A sort of mind control that limits our ability to perceive the huge island from the sky. It would explain how Flight 815 landed on the island but couldn't be found. It is a fluke occurance, an accident. Now, as indicated by Desmond and the end of Season 2, unless you go the exact perfect way (maybe opposite of the tower), you can't get out.
All of this sure does make electromagnetism sound pretty crazy. Maybe it will bring back popularity in Einstein's Grand Answer to Everything. Electromagnetism being the key to perception and life itself.

You know, I always wondered why podcasters never use something as simple as a compressor on the audio before they send it out. That was one thing that suprised me with the official Lost podcast, on some of them one of the guys sounded like he was shouting out from behind a door, maybe a loo or something. Listening to them late at night I actually ended up creating an in/out system through an audio program to put real time compression on it. That worked a treat.
hi. i'm new-ish - been lurking for a long while, posted once or twice on the boards. i've been following along, for the most part, and everyone else seemed so brilliant that every time i came up with an idea, someone else had already gotten there.
but now i've got one no one seems to have mentioned so far. ok, maybe i watch too much csi or something, but is there a way for the general populace to do voice comparisons? people were talking about persephone being the same person as tanya - is there voice recognition software or something that would be able to prove or disprove that? has anyone actually listened to the dj dan podcasts and the persephone voice clues side-by-side?
just a thought.
