The petition went over 10,000 signatures on the same day Rachel mentioned Joop in her video...but I'm pretty sure the boys won't send it in to The Hanso Foundation until they are sure they have 10,000 legitimate signature. They've caused quite a stir though and I wouldn't be surprised if Hanso beats them to the punch with a response...Aren't we due some info about Joop?

Damn. And here is me going off to bed. Well. Not a lot here I dont think. Not as much as the rachel blake think. Seems that all the pictures I noticed were ones from looking into the flash files. Seems they may have wanted us to look at the pictures (but not the passwords obviously). Oh well. I will see what you all have had to say in the morning. Dont get me wrong. I am excited by it; I am sure I didnt catch all the pics. As admin are saying. A link to all the pictures would be nice. Catch you all tomorrow.

The thing i found most interesting was that there were at least 5-6 pictures of swans. So maybe there are also pictures there of the signs of the other hatches on the island?

The other thing it seems like is a "how do you feel?" test. That's not what they would be officially called, but it's common practice in psych experiments to flash a bunch of images at a subject and then see if their perspective or mood has changed.

You know, something just hit me. I think it'd be fun if we started another blog/forum about the Lost Experience, but we role-play and look it at as a reality. We post and act like we really do live inside the LOST world. The plane crash was real, and all of teh events...really did happen.
Something like the message board from RoT, except with real people.

So, the film is called Psychology Test 1 of 1. How do we know that this isn't a film that they showed to potential recruits who were to work on the DHARMA initiative? It reminds me of the tests that they give to patients or "gifted" individuals. All of the imagry definiteley coincides with things we have seen so far, but I think maybe we are getting a glimpse of what the DHARMA initiative was really about. They would need people who could keep their cool and not lose their heads if they were shipping them off to an island by themselves for indefinate amounts of time. Subliminal has come up before too and maybe the images were suppose to jar a particular thing in the participants mind.
Sorry for the psycho babble, but with the VIK institute, DHARMA, and this new orientation film, I think we are looking at some very crazy mind games here!

We can conclude that this video is NOT one of the Orientation Videos that we have seen in the Pearl or the Swan (in the TV series), becuase in those they are listed as "Orientation - The ____ - # of 6". This video seems to be of a different format, and has a different purpose/usage.

I like what JENGOD said about the "how do you feel?" test. That was the vibe I got from this film, or another memory test like the memory game that we played previously and that was given to the patients at the VIK institute. As far as some of the images:
I saw a rorschach inkblot test page, a pig, swans, torso, satelitte, helicopter, group photo, school of fish, a cell or maybe an egg, vials, DHARMA logo, flowers, cobra, hazmat people, polar bear ( i think they are tagging it). I know some are what we all saw, but hopefully this helps!
My husband and i thought that the symbol on the DHARMA logo looked like a cameo. You know the pins with the outline of a face? It would make sense with it being the psychology orientation that it would be a symbol representing the human head in some way.

I think Maven and Serenity are right. If you think of the whitespace as skin, the colored part looks like the back of a woman's head. A neatly coiffed woman with a hairstyle reminicent of the 40's.

Hi guys-
As they say, first time commenting, longtime....lurker? (I'm way new to this!) Anyway, I have been (trying) to keep up with the comments and I'd like to throw out my two cents:
-First, the whole Persephone/Rachel thing. Has anyone considered that maybe they are twins?? (Lame joke....Is Persephone the "bad twin"?? Had to say it!!). The similarities in voice and mannerisms could be an indication of it, if they aren't the same person (Which I kind of hope they aren't...P could use some help I think!)
-Second, regarding the design in the Dharma Initiative symbol on the video. My first impression was that it looked a bit like a fetus...big head and all that. Going along with this, it seems like I heard somewhere forever ago that the mother's emotional/stress states can positively or negatively influence the baby. Maybe they are trying to experiment on the fetus through the mother in some way? (I say this because the pictures freaked me out a little even though I could tell what they really were.)

Well, it is a part of the video. Anyone who watched the video should have seen it, unless they accidentally closed their browser or something.

Supposedly done in 1965 they talk about nano-technology and the Hanso Foundation. Might be worth a look.
the seabouys pict looks like it has the offshore radio pole that paik industrusties wanted hanso to move. it was in one of the recent hacks. plus the australia picture looks like it too has the mapinguari init, and wils rather than the djdan pict.

I don't think that nanotech video is real, primarily because the first use of the term nanotechnology was in a 1974 paper by a Japanese scientist.
Also it doesn't seem like the narrator has the appropriate accent for industrial films of the 1960s. He sounds more like someone in his early 20s--which is a very different voice than the 1960s "Voice of Authority" used in most industrial films of the time.

the alternative: that video's been floatin' around for a while now.... no one knows where it came from... I've tried repeatedly to contact the Hottfitt Films dude that uploaded it to youtube, but has never replied... I don't think it's real, but it's very very good... I gave it 5 stars on youtube

Hey, be very careful of all the fake clues out there. They are starting to mount up and it seems like there is a sudden and quite large increase in the number of players who have turned against the greater good.

Who wants to bet that there are 108 unique frames shown during the video? That would just be funny. Tina and I are both up to 70+ a piece, with a few unique catches to each of us.

I don't know if this has already been mentioned but on the save joop website if you hang around long enough you get a static interference then what sounds like talking then it fades out with more static. Anyone know what this is or am i going mad?
Did anyone notice that in the blog for clue #56 "Chelsea" gave the password and link to the Rachel site without being able to say how this was done? Chelsea's explanation didn't stack up. It was only later explained how to obtain the code from the backwards numbers.
If Chelsea is reading this can they please respond so that we can verify whether this was a "plant" or a genuine decode?
I suspect that the game organisers wanted to ensure that the second round started with a bang and planted multiple (obvious) clues to the Rachel site, including the usual haunts (thf, Persephone.thf, these blogs etc).
cipher: Is this the same sort of static that occurs on the main Hanso page? The sound of static at certain minutes of each hour (15, 16, 23, 42, etc)?? I'll sit around for a few minutes and investi-ma-gate.
EDIT: OH THAT. I can't pick anything up, but stare at the main logo and it says something like "Don't believe the lies." It's always been like this, though, hasn't it?
mr.bankhead: Nothing so far. I mean, a lot are simply reproductions of pictures from all the various sites. Joop's ugly mug, the mapinguari, the swans, a boar, Alvar Hanso's shadow-laden window shot, the radio tower in the ocean, shots of the 815 flight over the ocean, the tattooed shark... A lot of these are simply duplicates..
But, then again, some of these are merely pictures of seemingly random objects. Explosions, the Australian outback, clouds, a guy in a hazmat suit.
The one that really intregues me is the redish picture with the randomly overlayed pictures and numbers on it.
I haven'T seen this anywhere else, so hopefully this is helpful. I apologise if this is a repeat. Time to clutter up the thread with a shot by shot transcript I've done of the Rachel video. Worse, they're in bed with the Global Welfare Consortium, you know, the people keeping us all safe from disease. I'm sorry if these big names are confusing, but that haze is how people like them get away with stuff like 'Joop', the ageless orangutan.

Two. The Hanso squad have this program called the (split screen to show dharma logo) Dharma Initiative, super top secret. Now get this.

10. MID SHOT - Rachel sits, dejected – indistinct voice (I hear "they killed her"?) she looks into camera

And three – speaking of disappearing acts, (split screen to show grainy hanso picture) Alvar Hanso, head of the whole outfit, he is missing. (screen returns to normal) And by missing I mean missing, but that doesn't mean that he is not accountable for his actions.
12. MID SHOT – laptop closed, book face up, closed and turned around.
Now. The man running the show in Alvar's “absence”, is (split screen) this Dr Thmas Werner Mittelwerk. Here's what we know about Mittelwerk. (normal screen) He calls himself a doctor, but a doctor of what? I dug for any evidence of this guy getting a doctorate from every industrialised nation in the world and guess what? Zippo.
13. ECU
This guy is a total shadow figure. Who is he, what is he trying to do? That's what I'm here to find out.
14. MIDSHOT – Rachel adjusts camera and sits down on the cluttered bed. The editing is choppy.
Now the fun part. Here. We've got mikes, we've got cameras. We have wigs, and caps and we even have – check this – glasses cam, just like Alias.
15. ECU – sitting, holding her backpack. Upset?
You're probably wondering why I'm going to all this trouble to hide my identity if I'm going to show my face and use my real name. The fact is, whatever Hanso, Mittelwerk and these guys are hiding, they believe in it, they've dedicated their lives to it and they will go to any length to protect it. Chances are they already know who I am. And if they know the face that's going to take them down, you should, too.
Just promise me this. If they – if they get to me, promise me that you won't let the Hanso Foundation's crimes to go unpunished. Because they might be able to stop one of me but they can't stop a hundred of me, or a thousand.
So let's rock, shall we?

Anyhoo, I just sat through her video again. What dewdrop necklace? I see a necklace, but it's mostly covered by her shirt for the duration of the video.
Hmm. The video makes me think that Rachel isn't Persephone.
Rachel is saying that Alvar Hanso is a bad man, he needs to be accountable for his actions, he's hiding something, etc...
But, doesn't Persphone seem like she's trying to find Hanso because she believes things got out of hand and he fled to be safe, or something? It makes it seem like Persephone has a connection with Hanso, like, maybe he's her father.
I don't know.

Mochi - the necklace looks like a dewdrop to me, jsut waxing poetical :) Not sure in the necklace is meant to *be* anything. Can't assume that anything is just random.

Last note. I still think the chiming notes on the P page mean something. It's too clever, catchy, and bold to be there for no reason.
The nuclear tests are one at the NTS, possibly cactus (small bomb buried deeply), as well as two pacific test images of large bombs. The large mushroom cloud is from the test series Castle, shot Bravo. This was the largest american bomb test ever, at about 15 MT. But this was hardly the largest ever: the russians detonated a bomb at over 40 MT.
Shocking. I've never been so frustrated at being dragged out to pubs and have people round my house, I haven't been able to spend some proper time on this and all this crops up. Argh. I will be on the case tommorow though and I'll have a good look (and listen) at it all. My copy of Bad Twin finally turned up too, woot.

On the savejoop.com site, if you keep it open for a while there is a really quick sound clip. I am not sure if this has been noticed before or if it is new. I can't figure out what it is saying, any ideas?

mochi its not the obey sound that you used to get on the hanso site at 4 8 15 16 etc on the save joop site i was just reading the list of names on the petition when a radio like static being heard some warped voice then static the whole thing lasts about 3 seconds at first i thought it was when the savejoop message came up but its at different times. if it helps the noise occured after i clicked the aerial on djdans page and the returned to savejoop.

YES, there are a number of times that the ARG has given us an alternate way of getting passwords because not all of us have the technology or skills to mess around with sound, find the numbers & translate them backwards with ASCii.
The main interest is here is if that's a reason that Rachel used the password, if she's already in cahoots with Persephone or again probably IS Persephone. Hopefully they get her an acting coach for any future video diaries.
