sxzgun/john, let's try to keep this board constructive... I'd hate to see the same bickering and negativity here that has become pretty common on ITE's blogs. We appreciate your opinions, but at least offer something constructive to go along.
I've noticed a lot of "grumbling"(?) over the DJDan podcast being out of sync with his website and the "current events" provided by P. I think I'm beginning to get a theory on this, so bear with me... this is speculation:
The hacks we have been getting are not the "original" releases of the information she's giving us. Perhaps we are seeing replays of hacks and/or information that P previously acquired and shared - possibly along a timeline in the past that would match up with DJDan's information. With the introduction of ROT and what I believe to be their "signature" in the IGA page, I think that they are the current hackers pumping us information. Speaker eluded to the Lost show being past events of this alternate reality - why can't the P and DJDan information also be past events of the alternate reality, with ROT being current?
Just a theory, but if there are any gaping holes, please point them out (constructively).

Ordinary people could be capable of extraordinary feats of mental agility by turning off part of the brain with magnetic fields, according to Australian scientists.
In the Hollywood film Rain Man, the character played by Dustin Hoffman counts 246 toothpicks at lightning speed when a waitress spills them in a heap on the floor of a diner.
The ability of ordinary people to do this same feat can be boosted with magnetic fields, says Prof Allan Snyder, Director of the Centre for the Mind, a joint venture of the Australian National University and the University of Sydney.
His study, which is published this month in the journal Perception, investigates whether repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, TMS, can improve a healthy person's ability to guess accurately the number of elements in a scene.
Participants in the study were presented with 50 to 150 random elements on a monitor.
Of the 12 participants, 10 improved their ability accurately to guess the number of elements immediately following TMS treatment to the left anterior temporal lobe, a skill that receded an hour later.

I never saw mentioned (and I actually saw this BEFORE reading your stuff) about what looks like a mast in pic 2 of the clue. here. I put it down to being a glitch with the picture but the apparent submarine found here seems to have a mast coming from it too. I still don't think it genuine though.
I saw 2 dogs. One was the 3d jaws of a dog coming from the would. Think it is nothing though.
If you touch up the pic of the guy standing in photoshop it is definitely a coat like Marvins.

Oh well, more site problems. I have now heard DJDAN. I definitely think there is still more to SaveJoop.com from last podcast. An it really does sound like DJDAN or WIFE posted that latest clue. Plot thickens. Hmm. Miss not being able to speak to you guys.
And nae (no) fichtin' (fighting). Anyone comes in and says something that delibirately upsets, just ignore. Simple. It only fuels it. We follow the game differently and we are learning a hell of a lot of useless (in real life except for pub conversations) but fascinating information. I for one like it. I see why others don't. Fantasy and all (not everyone likes role playing board games (and computer games) like Warhammer 40000 and the dungeons and dragons type theme. But those who do really ENJOY it.

I was reading over at InsidetheExperience while this was down today, and boy, did it get nasty over there. Very juvenile! Please...don't let that happen here. Everyone is so nice and I'm learning so much about computors, obscure facts, and human nature. Keep up the pleasantries and good work.

I have discovered how to read posts made even though I cannot force myself to post.
If you put the link to the comments sections into a download manager (I use download accelerator) it will keep trying until it can download it. The file should be opened with notepad and then all the text copies. Create a new text document and paste the text and save as an HTM file instead of txt. It will then show you the posts made. Thought it might be hand under the circumstances.

I mentioned that http://lxicon.com/hanso2/ was a list of official clues and how to get them. Great reference tool. But as has been pointed out it does not list hole2 and hole3 stuff. These are definitely official. Why doesn't it mention them? Will it ever? Seems it is only refering to stuff on main Hanso site only. Doesn't mention hidden Joop page box. (I think this is a red herring as I am sure someone mentioned that official sources said there would be red herrings). Just theorising. Don't mind me.

andre - thank you... I felt at the time it was a tad too easy. I guess I should have waited until my coffee had kicked in before I posted this morning. I guess I'm going to have to relisten to the DJDan podcast; I missed where P was his wife (?). At any rate, I think TPTB have made it a point with this clue/podcast that we can't trust that everything we are getting is "real-time". Does anyone know where I can actually download his 3rd podcast, the one from sublymonal? I got the others, but wanted to save a copy of them just in case they dissappear.
Another thing that has come to my attention: expounding on Bellyo's parthenogenisis definition/explanation, if we go further back than the current definition, we can find parthenogenisis in Greek mythology. As you all know, mythology has been very intertwined in this game and show. In Greek mythos, parthenogenisis was not strictly reserved to the females. An example of a parthenogenic creation by a male would be Zeus creating Athena either from his mind, or from his thigh (depending on which mythos is read). Zeus had 2 or 3 more parthenogenic creations.
I don't know if this will be significant, but you never know...
Just as another weird aside - I have a greek mythology text book (remnant from college) and was looking up a couple things in the index... Penelope is listed and is on page 108! Just thought that was funny. :)
Pharmacopaeia - good info. I have limited experience outside of Greek and Roman mythos, and am always interested to learn about others. Interstingly though, Athena was technically a parthenogenic birth as well since she sprung from Chronos' genetalia after he was castrated and they fell into the sea. I'll have to go read on that Genos Gynaikon...

Has anyone seen that new dr. pepper commercial? Their pitch is that it has '23' flavors. I bring it up because they mention the number over and over again, like every 2 seconds. is this a clue? is dr. pepper a new sponsor for the game? am I getting so wrapped up in the lost experience that I am starting to associate everything with the game? Has anyone made a timeline of the events around the show and the experience so far? They don't seem to match, they have been on the island for like 65 days, which would put them around the end November. It seems like the HF is now trying to do some spin control, not very good, but anyway...It is nice to be away from the out of control post on ABC...

I would not go to in depth yet, I think the story has it's merits, and certainly has a parallel...I have been doing a lot of mythology research, more than I need, but there seems to be a direct link to many of the mythologies of certain cultures and lost...when I can get direct connections or we have a philosophy/religion group blog I will unload my findings...most of which are at home...=(

No, Crossfade...that was a GREAT book too (cannot remember which book that was but it was good).
Watchers is the one where there are exparament subjects: a Golden Retriver and an ape like thing that were "bothers" or "twins" so to speak and dog is good and the monster is bad. The monster hates the dog cuz the dog is the "pretty" one.
Crossfade...it was "The Taking" not "Watchers"!! That is an interesting book to relate to this too!

I'm not sure where to post things like this.
I get the same feeling marple. I remember in the Cape Town Inquisitor clue that we saw that same xray with a circle under the right lung - possibly showing a missing organ (kidney/liver?). Of course, I still feel that there's more to find in most of our old clues... so I don't think my opinion is necessarily the one to seek on this. :)

I am now officially on a quest to see just how FREAKISHLY close some of this story is to Dean Koontz books. I know this sounds like a LOST cause LOL but bare with me. I wander if the writers of LOST are AT THE LEAST MAJOR fans of Koontz or maybe, just maybe Koontz possibly could be somehow involved with the show/game.
Here is a JUST A TIDBIT of stuff to chew on while I do MAJOR research in this idea:
Watchers: has good/bad twin and a ape like thing and retriever
the taking: has retriever guiding people as the get killed and kidnapped by aliens
the light of the moon: has people being injected by unknown substance
one door away from heaven: (have not read) says it has to do with hanicaped girl gonna be healed by tenth birthday
soul servivor: is about a guy who is the only survivor of a plane crash
life expenctancy: (taken from the book description) Jimmy Tock comes into the world on the very night his grandfather leaves it. As a violent storm rages outside the hospital, Rudy Tock spends long hours walking the corridors between the expectant fathers' waiting room and his dying father's bedside. It's a strange vigil made all the stranger when, at the very height of the storm's fury, Josef Tock suddenly sits up in bed and speaks coherently for the frist and last time since his stroke.

I am getting more and more interested in DJDan. I think that the phone call at the end of his latest podcast was very intriguing. It almost seemed to me that this guy was getting to Dan. Especially when things got personal and his wife was mentioned. I still think there is a good chance he may be involved with Persephone somehow. Is she his wife? Is he an associate helping P out? Or some other connection. I feel there is more than meets the eye to him and his character will become more involved with the game as things progress. Anyone agree?
I read somewhere that on the http://emri.perception.net there is a hidden password box and they gave the password. It led to a document. I cannot remember nor find what I found. Does anybody know what I am talking about and can help?

Yes. But it really does seem to me that that last clue was not from P. I have a few reasons for believing this. And with the shark mentioned in the podcast I think things are pointing to DJDan having something to do with the clue. Happened at the same time so seems TPTB would have meant this and is too vague to be a red herring IMHO.
I say happened at the same time but DJDan was later. Not sure how important this is. Is DJDan live or is this the time discrepency that was mentioned earlier?
Evidence to sugggest clue was not from P.
-Message from P was not written the same way. Used contractions and just did not "feel" Persephone.
-Message saying standby (which was up for quite a while before anything happened) on persephpne.thehansofoundation.org suggested to me that she was having trouble getting through to us and the clue genomic countdown message backed that up.
-Countdown to a hack. Come on. As has been mentioned this just would not happen. Sounds more like the personality of DJDan to me. P is more careful.
-None of the usual hidden letters etc. Just all seemed a different format (reminds me of DJDan)
-DJDan seemed to not know of the sharks but said having the pic was important. I guess it want on his site but that makes the podcast a while ago. Maybe this is in the past but both him and P are now doing there bit to let the rest of us know what Hanso are up to in there own way. Only P is in trouble so he had to do this latest hack.
And probably some others. Anybody have any thoughts?
After listening to podcast again I couldn't find that I could disprove roomforhumans comment.

It does sound quite like her. I haven't compared to hearing her in the previous clue(s) though.

Just heard the clue of persephone speaking. (the one in WWPDP after clicking on the phone.
I am not 100% convinced but am very convinced.
I would suggest that the message that come up in the WWPDP clue... something like "if you can read this. I know who you are" was not the new hacker but maybe the person that phoned DJDan with threats. This guy is on to both of them. And has Shut Down P. Did this message "if you can read this etc" coincide roughly with the shark pic coming up on DJDan's site. I have to go to bed soon so don't have time to check. I am excited.
Someone mentioned the fact that the DJdan podcast are "archives" not live shows....was a good point.
I think we are hearing them backwards. Heard that last one first kind of thing.
That would also explain why DJDan is gone (not airing new shows) and remember he was threatened and also said he was gonna name a new guy, and the one before he said there was a DJDave.

The http://emri.perception.net/ site that came from the ROT site (though site was available before) leads to the walkthrough of official clues hereall except for the hole2 and hole3 clues (and maybe others I cannot think of). I have heard this is just an ordinary clue site but I haven't seen it proved. I think that if it is not officially hanso then they have chosen to use it as the most accurate one they have found or at least one that TPTB feel is closest to how they want it all to be portrayed. Seeing as though it could be found through an official clue and all.
I did a search for the author of the site. lxicon. The first page I got was this. I guess it does seem like a normal site but as I said I am off to bed very soon and your opinions would be valued.

I have emailed the guys about possibly posting the timelines Thrasher and I did today (combining them -- there are some differences)in the Clue section so everyone can see them and contribute to them. Hopefully, we can have the most complete and accurate one in the game. Otherwise, they've gotten "lost" (ha ha) in the comment section.

I was thinking about parthenogenesis. Wiki says it comes from the greek for Virgin Birth. I've been thinking for a while that there are an awful lot of potential virgin births in the series. A lot of it is only suggested, but you can actually take it further and speculate about a few other characters too. I can't go into detail now because I'm not at home and don't have my paperwork. But we have hints at Locke being a virgin birth/parthenogenesis and Suns unborn being one and Walt being one. We've also got Kate suspecting her father wasn't her real father (so much so she had someone clear in her mind she thought to be her real father). Maybe she was half right and the truth is she has no father.
But it could be a lot of these people had minders, like Lockes "dad" who we know has links with Hanso via the Widmore group. Kates could have been Sam Austen who she thought was her real father (and was maybe the person to recommend the Dharma Initiative to Kelvin?) . Suns child maybe was meant to be the hotel owners son or maybe the person the watch was for? I don't know about Claires son - The American couple? Ethan? Alex? Charlie?? Walts minder was his adopted father (who had some reason for re-introducing Micheal to him before sending him to the Island)? The minder idea makes me think of the "red queens" in the origional Machurian Candidate. Maybe even Jacks father is just an Agent.
If Lockes mother had to be "treated" so she wouldn't reveal anything, then that could tie in the mental health hospital with the Hanso project and that could suggest that both/either Libby and/or Hugo were also Virgin Births/parthenogenesis (my theory - Hugo is and Libby was his minder).
It could be every character in lost is or has had / will have a virgin birth. Certainly there is too much co-incidence for there to be nothing to the angle. If the game is linking in with the series in a way that suggests the series makers have inside info on the real Hanso we could be learning some really significant stuff relevent to the series from the in game version of the angle.
I had some other theories, but I'm too tired. See you all tommorow.
p.s. Is DJDan HIM? Well there has been suggestions that the Others are the hackers, rebels trying to take down Hanso and the DI. You neverknow. Okay that wasn't really a serious one.

Alvar Hanso was on the board of Widmore Corp (in the book), but now Mittlewerk has taken over.
Fenris: Do we know that Lockes father had ties to Widmore? This is news to me. I'd be interested to know more.

Hey BellyO, have you tried the Wizard of Oz+Dark Side of the Moon thing yet? It is really freaky how well it sychronises up. Start the album just after the third MGM roar and get ready for an experience! Of course the album doesn't even last half the film and replaying it doesn't synch it up as well with the rest of the film (although it's still entertaining providing you can listen to DSotM 2 1/2 times in a row) but that first run through is stunning.
Sorry kind of off topic (although it was the Lost blogcast that got me looking into that in the first place as they mentioned it would be funny if they had found the Pearl station complete with a copy of Dark Side and Oz ready to play).

Okay to explain, I was asked about where I found links between Anthony Cooper and Widmore. It was listed in his bio on lostpedia. So I assumed it was mentioned in passing in the show, but infact his name was listed on the www.widmoregroup.com website which is now considered to be non-cannon, but at the time some eager fan must have filled in the info on his lostpedia bio pressuming the site to be legit. That misinformation in Coopers bio has now been removed. So I don't have a link for him being linked to the widmore group. But it doesn't really change my theories about him or Santa Rosa. Just it's now more theoretical and less factual.
I did wonder how I missed the widmore namedrop in the show, seems the reason is because it wasn't there.
Oh yes, as for the male offspring with a technique that should in theory only produce females. While I put that down to the sci-fi element. The technologies in use in the show/game don't have to be real life ones, just vaguely linked to it. Perhaps that is why people like Walt have funky powers, because the introduction of an artificial chromosone (sp?).

The first time line posted (frenchie's) mentioned Alvar Hanso's photo dated Oct 23 2003... but as was noted in the messageboard linked from this blog... that date is wrong as the same shot is in the Swan orientation film.
Yes Charles Widmore was Jim in Neighbours (and someone nasty in like the last XFiles, and he was in 24 too yes?). Farscape fans may also have noticed Scorpius as Isaac (plus someone else from Farscape as the coronor of Charlotte Malkin (who has also had a lot of roles on tv in Aus...))
There is no mention on lostpedia of Michael working for Widmore, I think that is a fan assumption.

Belly: I think you're totaly righton re whether a site is in or out-game. TPTB can't rely on us just stumbing across an in-game site. We must be led there either by Hanso commercials or specific clues on known in-game sites. The web is a vast universe and we must be directed to where we must go next. When someone "finds" a site based on googling a game "word" that can't really result in an in-game site, can it?
brammers: I just got a "form letter" saying they are so overwhelmed by emails they don't know when they can answer them. I guess they are working on setting up the "research blogs". I assume they will email people who want to be on those when David returns from vacation. My request was on a different subject, so I guess I'll be "put on hold" for a while!

Does anyone have any ideas of ways to go the find "The Valenzetti Equation" book or the Equation itself? I tried searching the UN archives because it was mentioned somewhere that the Equation was commissioned by the UN after the Cuban Missile crisis and Valenzetti presented his equation a year later. I got nowhere, but any other ideas?

Welcome, devondude! This is the best place for TLE. Everyone's so nice and knowledgeable. Real work gets done here. There is no Fibonacci Institute that I can find, but I believe you're right about the numbers in Da Vinci Code.
Just a note before anyone gets too wound up on Valenzetti - to quote Wikipedia "The Valenzetti Equation about an equation derived by a fictional mathematician"
matt the pale (who I admire for doing this) plays the game "in character". That is to say, that he is playing within the alternate reality as if it were our current true reality. Just wanted to point this out to anyone who may be doing anything ...questionable to find out information on him.
Outside of the ARG - Equations such as this one are often called "Armageddon Equations" or a "Doomsday Argument". I think Frank J. Tipler and his work on "The Big Crunch" could be a point of research for one of these since (IMHO) they have leaned a tad more towards the side of pseudoscience with most of their materials.
... and just to clarify (since I didn't state it in my last post): I like the idea of pushing THF for information and think that the Valenzetti Equation blog is a great idea.
007: I'm just "playing along". TPTB must have someone out there with a copy of "The Valenzetti Equation" in the ARG world. It's up to us to find it!
Maven: I agree that they have to have somthing that their running with on the Valenzetti stuff, and definitely think it should be pursued since it will most likely be important to the game/show. Outside of ARG, there appear to be several leads on these Doomsday equations. I'm working on putting together some mythology tie-ins this weekend, but once I finish that, I think I'm going to start down the road of Valenzetti-ish information.

zky: I thought of this too, but don't remember seeing it mentioned. The Lost numbers aren't a Fibonacci sequence in themselves, so I don't think it will be pertinent. I do like to use a line I heard years ago that is "There's no such thing as too much information". So, if you find it relevant, interesting, or think it may become so, please post your thoughts. One thing I've noticed on this board is that nobody really balks at getting additional information.

raechel - the Nov. 28, 2005 date was even more interesting in the book since it referenced an actual event that occured on that date: the end of Scottish Feudalism... possibly just another production discrepency since he would not have been able to know that if he had written the book prior to Sept. 2005.

Good to hear you are still on the case with the DJDan podcasts. I feel with you on the case something will more likely be found (no pressure likes). I think that there is definitely something funny going with the DJDan stuff and I think it is going to explode soon and would like to get as much info on this as possible. (Before the big thing happens and we are all going ooohhhhhhhhhh. So it is. Why did we not think of that sort of thing etc).

There are only 6 that I am awere of. I have a bunch of subscriptions to youtube users that post anything to do with LOST and havent seen anything new pop up as of yet...though I have a gut feeling thats about to change.

I noticed how similar the numbers in my previous post were to the numbers in Lost. I wondered how I coulde add to make the set. Just show how easy it is for coincidences to happen. "x too" means 4 x 2 therefore 8.

Oh yah, I also went through the previous postings about the first podcast and there were SO MANY kick booty comments about it that just seem to have been forgotten about, so I will also be following up on those leads and making sure I give kudos to those who posted them!

random comment, and i don't know exactly where to post this, so i'm just gonna put it here - P seems to be on the right track with her theory that Alvar Hanso doesn't exist any more...in "Bad Twin", the Widmores (Arthur and Cliff) are talking about their board meeting (towards the end of the book), and Arthur says something to the effect of "I don't like that Mittlework guy - I liked it better when Alvar was running things." (Sorry, I don't own the book, I just read it over multiple visits to Border's, hahaha), and Cliff says something to the effect of "You just liked Alvar because you two made lots of money together"...just thought it was interesting.

BTW...who is the one who started the time line? Sorry but my mind is all busy with the podcast research and I saw that someone is doing a time line. I want to know if they want to park it on my blog here? I have an email posted in it, so if you would like to send it all to me, I would be happy to put it in the blog and give that person the credit! It updates occure, I can tweek it to fit!

aylakat - the dharmaindustries.com site is currently thought of as out of game. If you check the disclaimer, there are multiple gramatical errors and the "Pre-membership card" link takes you to a Paypal site that is looking for a $30.00 payment. These, along with not being directed to the site by and in-game means, makes us believe it is not in-game. IMHO - this is someone's attempt to profit from the Lost Experience's popularity.

Following on from what lena, others and I were saying about DJDan podcasts and DJDan.
I had said that I could not find the first podcast of his. I had actually heard it but forgot that the 2nd was found on sublymonal.com after typing 108. Does anyone know where I can find it to download? I thought the obvious place would be DJDans site but it just links to sublymonal. (interesting that the last podcast links to another site http://podcast.monster.com/archives/djdan/ but I can't find the podcast there. I have it though so doesn't matter.Also I noticed that the latest two had comments in hexadecimal (right click file, click properties then summary and see in the comments section. I haven't seen that mentioned.

I do not recall ever seeing if widmoregroup.com has been proved to not be in-game but the reality is that anyone can make a website. The key point is how was the site found. If it came from a link within an official source then I guess it is in-game but if not and it has just been found by googling etc then I would suggest that although not proven to not be in game, it would seem a little fruitless to put a lot of effort into it when I and others feel in all likelyhood, if a site was to be explored for clues then some clue or other would take us there first.
Still though. I have an open mind to the possibility of various sites being in-game that have not proved to be so it wouldn't be impossible.

Hi everyone! I am going to be posting all four transcribed podcast of DJDan on my blog (in my profile) I have no problems with using this blog for data collecting...and having others join in as members to aid in updates!
I would love to make sure everyone gets the credits for what the submit if they want as well.
Just click on my picture and in my profile there are blogs. Not sure yet how someone becomes a member other then me emailing them...so if someone knows how, let me know. I just started getting into this blogsite, so not real great at the features just yet.
