Lost Experience Podcast Episode 6 & More...

Whew! It's tough to put together a podcast on a week this busy. We hope our "8 Thoughts in 16 Minutes" sparks some good thinking.

Click HERE to launch iTunes, find our podcast, and subscribe.
Click HERE if you'd rather just listen in your browser or right-click and save the file.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Research Blog is complete and fully functional. In case you haven't heard us mention it, this is intended to be a place where deeper meanings and implications of these "clues" are summarized and explained. Our Researchers will be working hard to provide understandable abstracts of the most popular and relevant topics.

Lastly, it seems that Rachel Blake may have listened to last week's podcast and enjoyed our "interview" with Persephone. Who knows, maybe she shares P's affinity for Kirk Cameron. Whatever the case may be, THIS ALTERNATE VIDEO popped up on YouTube and we had to share it with you...just for inspiration & laughs.

The Valenzetti Foundation webpage

Even right down on the bottom of the main page they say they're not affiliated with ABC, linking to the Lost homepage.

The site covers lots of things like Life Extention and some sort of device. Check it out. I'm scouring over it for clues, so if this is old news, pleeease let me know, so I'm not wasting my time here.

Aside from having Friends that are 100% surely fansites (Dr. Marvin Candle's page, in fact, claims that he was only in one of the Orientation videos) from the Lost show, I don't know what is significant about this guy. He is the "Doctor" of the RoT group, but wasn't that a fake cover-up group?

Has anyone tried translating his hometown? "Aufwecken des Traums"? In the Retrievers of Truth site, a French Town was translated to be something like "This is all fake" or something.

And check out his Interests. If ever there were a greater list of Lost-like Books, TV shows, or Movies, it'll probably be close to our good friend's interests.

But all of this could have easily been fan-crafted. Kind of the the skeptics when we first discovered Retrievers of Truth.

So what do we have here that we can consider "official"? I'm not saying that we can completely discredit it (look at the people who discredited RoT), but I'm trying to find a hidden part of this site here...

PS: I knew it was ineviteable for MySpace to come into play here.

MTP - Well, from what I've heard, the guy's story has been confirmed by alot of people...but then again it could just be one guy and a bunch of his friends deciding to post similar stories.

Blogger Carol Dunstan said...

Just in case there are those who don't want any hint of spoilers... ahead there be discussion of an episode that has not aired in the UK

resin, I have thought that the 'Dharmatel' reference on the blastdoor map may just be a nickname given to a possible telecommunications network on the Island. There maybe an actual off-shoot of DHARMA called that, dunno at this stage :D I've also always thought, like maven suggested (actually, thought I had posted it here recently, but things do have a habit of being overlooked), that DI/HG might be DHARMA Initiative/Hanso Group. I think it was Matt The Pale that posted the suggestion earlier that Hanso Group may be the corporate arm of the Hanso Foundation. And I just looked up lostpedia to see what they have about Alvar, and they suggest MDG = Magnetic Discharge Grid. Then again they've also got Alan Dale aka Charles Widmore on the Alvar page... guess there is some resemblence...

Blogger Carol Dunstan said...

mochi, that is an idea my sister had the other night, but at this stage we don't know of a Magnus De Groot

I'm afraid I don't exactly catch what you're getting at, a.scott. I think that all was covered back when the RoT site first popped up and the clue was to hunt for the password to the secret RoT site ("porter").
In any case, it's nothing new to me. Sorry.

6/21/2006 01:03:00 AM
Blogger Benthic said...

lavenda: True. But, for the sake of surnames, Magnus could just mean "the great". Or possibly yet nother psuedonym for Alvar Hanso. Maybe a relative, even.

Shaman, yeah that has been discussed. Walt's Mum's name (Susan Lloyd) factors in the ROT email too :D

Blogger Carol Dunstan said...

mochi, you are right on the "the great" angle, but I'm inclined to think it is something else (expecially since De Groot also means "great" ;) ) now that we have a real Magnus Hanso and the blastdoor map reference isn't using Magnus as a title (well, Rachel's latest seem to indicate that anyway)

Blogger Carol Dunstan said...

resin, now that is something I hadn't considered, a reason for forging the date of the orientation videos. My sister and I were discussing things the other night, theorising where the information for the blastdoor map came from.

MORE SPOILERS (UK and AUS)

I think it's pretty safe to say Inman and Radzinsky are the two authors of the map. A lot of the information could have come from scouting the island, but that note about The Pearl on the right hand side... how did they find out about a Pearl station without finding the station itself? Even though that right hand side of the island (looking at the map) doesn't seem to have been explored as extensively, we wondered whether they came across the notebooks from the Pearl. We came up with a lot of other thoughts, and more questions of course, which would be mostly answered with just a few more tidbits from the show. A bit more backstory would help a lot... maybe that is what this game will provide :) Anyway, if their information was coming from those notebooks (or a notebook) that might indicate why there isn't older information on the map. huge question about how much you rely on the information we are given...

I typed out the text from the ship book scan that is linked from Rachel's blog (easier to compare text to text) and just started comparing it to the informtion from that freewebs site about ships... The site says the Black Rock disappeared in 1881, the book talks about events in 1882 from the point of view of some years after then. There is no mention of the Black Rock disappearing, though they do say Magnus captained vessels for some time after 1882. So if Magnus was around after the Black Rock disappeared, how did he come to have his final resting place on the Island???

maybe hanso foundation is getting its funding from a shipping company alvar hanso's family owned thats why mettelwerk visits the building becuase he's taken over hanso.
also the book mentions sea trading company in portsmouth this is where The Black Rock was built if you look at screenshots of the ship.
maybe hanso's family stumbled upon the hidden island during thier sea capt'n years. one more thing this could connect hanso more with the philly experiment.

I'm having trouble believing that theory, shrodes, simply because of the gaps it leaves open. It's only using half of what's presenting to us. Who knows... We all certainly don't yet. ;)

I'm taking the lines more literally right now and crossreferencing (XREF) the ships (ships, planes, boats, the balloon, etc.) from before or during the 1900s and during or after the year 2000. With so many crashing or shipwrecked vessels, there might be some similarities in there.

Besides, I've been up all night, obsessing over sites that I only now found out are non-canon (according to the Lostpedia, at least), so I guess I should be focusing on something offical.

Good luck all. Still awaiting DJDan's podcast.

The Flower of Life is a sacred power symbol which activates energy coding in the mind, helping one to access the light body. It is considered to be a wholly integrated expression of God, or All-That-Is.

Within the geometric Flower of Life symbol can be found all the Platonic Solids. The Platonic Solids are the building blocks of the universe. They form the basis of all organic life, as well as music, language, and consciousness itself.

Because it is a primary energy & language pattern that has a resonance with all things within us and around us, the interlocking circle Flower of Life design has the ability to unlock memories that are buried deep within our being.

The Flower of Life is a perfect metaphor illustrating the connectedness of all life and spirit within the universe. It is considered sanctified among many cultures, both ancient and modern, throughout the world.
