Clue #67 - RoT Clues - Money, Experiences, Check, Sorrow, and Tomorrow!

I thought it would be best to move the RoT chatter from yesterday to it's own clue and add the new ones from this morning. Those Retrievers are keeping us busy!

1. First See Clue # 65. We found a 3-layer document by guessing 2 of the clues. Today, we see what was supposed to happen in order to find the link to the MONEY page that was found yesterday by Dennis by simply guessing. We were supposed to notice a new image posted at Mandrake Wig's Flickr Site that shows a truck on grass that's "green like MONEY."

2. Also, looking below the other picture, it says "Get a clue: Direct observation or participation?"... doing a google search for these exact words will reveal to you that this as an exact definition for "EXPERIENCES. " So we also have our 7th word in the list of RoT clues (See below for more on RoT clues).

There has been new chatter on the RoT message board, and this time it gives us 2 new "clue words". If you are not familiar with the RoT clue words, you'll have to check the comments in previous posts b/c we were initially skeptical about the Retrievers and did a slack job of tracking their words. To boil it all down...up until this morning they have been leading us to SOMETHING LIKE THIS URL. We're still looking for more words to discover exactly where and what it is they are leading us to.

1. So...First, there's this conversation:

DSLerator You need to get a clue.
iobiSeeingYou But from where my love?
DSLerator You get it from the waitress! THE END?

The last part about what you get from the waitress at the end indicates to us that our 8th word in the string is "check"

2. Then we see the following dialogue:

BroadBandBeatnik That stunk.
Fiberoptician SORROW
BroadBandBeatnik What?
Fiberoptician Nothing.

And we have our third word, "sorrow" (See SORROW here), for that 3 layer document mentioned above. This was guessed by BellyOfDesire 2 days ago.

3. And then finally...Just by luck, once again, acts4food in our comments put a "tomorrow" on the string we already had and got a LOGIN BOX. We're on board with the RoT stuff and are looking to see what happens next!

Thanks to Tim, lhorse007, Laurie and acts4food for being the first to email

Morning, everyone!
I fell asleep watching the middle of Season 2 earlier this morning and awoke to the weird dream that Charlie had, involving his mother and Claire, saving the baby, and the white dove. Very weird indeed... hehehehe Hurley Jesus.

I was lucky and still had some Loews midweek passes (5 for $25 - each with a free popcorn AND valid for the IMAX) so I and my friends (4 of us) happened to get the best seats in the house for $5 with a free small popcorn.

I'm not sure if this has been said or not (and I don't want to look through the 1000+ comments over the last few days), but if you zoom in on the top left corner (I'm looking at them at 400%) and increase the contrast of any of the three layers there is a message hidden there. The only word I can make out is "down" but I think that it is part of "download". My Photoshop skills aren't that great, so someone who knows how to use the program might want to take a look at it. I'd advise using the originals rather than the combined version as they're all the same and the combined one has already been altered.

Hmmm... http://richerdeeperbroader.com/welcome/your/next/video/needs/your/experiences/check/tomorrow is "HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL set on the requested resource", which (I think) basically means the webserver doesn't have permission to access the file, and it's asking you for the username/password for a user account on the server that can access it. On the other hand, I don't know much about IIS/Windows access control. Is there anyone more experienced who could confirm this?

I've tried making the image negative and then increasing the contrast but the letters are just TOO small. I can't make out anything really, except "download".

acts4food - I think the size of those words just indicates how common a tag they are, e.g. there are a lot of photos with blue as a tag; not many with mandrake as a tag.

Hey guys. Nothing really to add to the discussion and question for U/Ps. I'm gonna keep trying random stuff and will let you know if I hit it.

But anyway, I was just chatting to Kyle on the IRC chatroom and decided to pimp the room a bit. So if anyone wants to chat in realtime then get yourself over to #lostclueteam on irc.crazeecanuck.homelinux.net

Dragon put up a great Tutorial for anyone not familiar with IRC and it's very easy to gain access.

Btw, I'd also like to pimp Trillian, cos I use it to IRC as well as ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, AIM and Jabber. It's just cool and the IRC bit is dead simple and a good alternative to mIRC. Although I know some people prefer the mIRC interface.

Not that it has ANYTHING to do with this, but I'm going to throw out a theory here about the plane crash. The plane didn't crash on the island on accident. And it didn't crash because of the button. The plane was made of titanium and little steel so it's not as magnetic as other things like the numbers box. The last episode we saw what happens when you don't push the botton and it causes the heiroglyphics box to get crushed. This would have happened long before the plane would have crashed and yet the box when the losties got on the island was just fine. Maybe this thing we are doing now will explain why things go to the island?

7/01/2006 08:24:00 PM
Blogger I'll never tell said...

If it did crash because of teh button then next season things should be crashing all over the island. They could bring in all kinds of characters.

If numbers could predict the future, hmmm? The plane crash must've been on purpose as there are too many connecting factors between the characters.

Nobody ever mentions the people who wanted Claire's baby B4 she got on the plane... A lot of these people were WANTed on that island...

Some theatres that have a balcony are awesome because you don't sit too close to the screen and have NOone in front of you!! But everyone has different preferences, etc.

It was almost as good a film as Batman Begins, but that had more heart!

Hey Princechuck.

I have a theory on that.
When we first saw the heiroglyphics, some are red and some are black.
I think each glyph changed colour when the button wasn't pushed and the explosion was after the final glyph changed. This possibly is why there was no explosion after Henry didn't press the button(?).

whaddya think?

Henry pressed the button. Just didn't want John to know it. My thoughts were that the colors either ment the first 3 were one word and the last 2 were another or that the first 3 being minutes and last 2 seconds? Still if Henry didn't press the button just like Desmond, the number box still would have been trashed before the plane would have had an effect to crash. And if you think about it, the others knew the crash was coming. Both parts of the plane had a guy in the woods waiting. I also noticed that on one of the last episodes that Michael said... "We must get back Walt and it must be these people" (he knew how things had to be because the lady told him) If you look at the episode when he locks jack in the room, jack offers to go with him he says, "No, I must do this alone." Something told him he had to go by himself... a dream? I noticed alot of things people on the show say without any knowledge that are contridictory to what the common person would do. I.E. John and his button pushing and believing it's so important.

is there anyone else thinking that the experience, although definitely now interesting in the way it updates everyday, is getting a bit more confusing?
i mean, with all the sites to keep up with, rachel blake, ROT and the dj dan podcasts (that seem unrelated but I'm sure we'll have to dig up something in the old podcasts for a password or something), this seems to get much more all encompassing.
all this stuff with ROT and the guy with the crazy face (sorry, not really up to snuff with that) seem completely unrelated to how the experience started, with the hanso foundation.
if someone (since I haven't been keeping up to the date on the ROT very much) can fill me in on how it's related at all, I would be very grateful

Mademoiselle - ROT has been a well of clues & info, including toward Rachel Blake & Thomas Werner Mittlework, which is ALL Hanso related (this is Act II of the three Act "play" of TLE).

Wally Bole (anagram for Yelow Lab) could be anyone including Alvar Hanso (not my bag) & Manny from the ROT email newsletter that gave us Porter is possibly related to Bad Twin and Mandrake Wig (more great hair/face) is an anagram for Waking Dream; although I've only read that and NOT Bad Twin...

What's you real question(s)?

P.S. It can't be THAT difficult to keep up, as you made it this board which means you know about www.TheLostExperienceClues.blogspot.com which could help you catch up as well as an awesome timeline within the www.TheLostExperienceResearch.blogspot.com

Those would be better than just this board and quite a few people get upset that they have to reiterate what's been continually talked about or people re-posting stuff because they didn't even take the time to do a find word search (Ctrl + F) which could quite quickly take you through 100s or more posts to look for something specific.

It's all related to the endgame (connections to Hanso & that island) which has been reinforced by the RGB (blood-Red, Money-Green & sorrow-Blue) clues & letter gotten through ROT / Verizon which is from TM about possible alternate sites including going back to an old one - most probably the lost island...

Good luck with your research!
