Rachel just posted the Login and Password for the richerbroaderdeeper login box on her blog under Italy Post 01. User Name = rblake. Password = allveggie. It takes us to a new video, which is in Quicktime format. We've put the video up at this YouTube link for those who cannot access it in Quicktime format!
Rachel brings her "genes" into the mix with a specific mention her mother. It may or may not be relevant, but she signs off using a phrase that Gerry found more information about on this website or this one.
Rachel updated her post AGAIN! Looks like she wants us to dig up as much information as possible on Enzo Valenzetti, she should check out our Research Blog for more information on him.

thrasher - that is the classic merry go round - they all used to have a brass ring, and the one who got it got 1 free ride. that is wehre the phrase (grab the brass ring came from). However most fairs removed the ring due to people sometimes falling off, while reaching out for the ring (fear of lawsuits).

o.k. for the user name, I just put in wtk, and then "breaking strain" for the password - just guessing. while the password was not correct it does appear that there might be something to "wtk" as the username because the username then changed to richerdeepbroader.com/wtk however when I put that into my url it said the page could not be found..maybe ya'll have already tried this, or it does it for anything you put in?

I agree. That letter has to be the key. I also think that the user name has to be someone on that site. wtk worked before because it was tied to the jeep site. Now that we're on rbd, we'll need one of the verizon names. Since the clues have come from DSL, I would assume he's the username.
Thanks, tony: Playing with images is definitely an in-game experience and it is something we just did with the Spider memo. We got red, green, blue. Maybe there's a yellow (or other color) we have to add. I tried everything yellow I could think of, but nothing worked.
This is nuts!! Once we know the user Id we can find the password, but we won't know if the user Id is right until we have the right password...totally mind numbing!

All roads lead to the Valenzetti Equation. We've been trying all along to find out things about it. Vexingmodstwo and MattthePale's blog (http://findvalenzetti.blogspot.com/) has been working on this for quite a while. This is where Gary Troup ties in. He must have left something behind for us to uncover.
Also, we're finding out more about Rachel's motivation. There has to be a family connection here. Talking about her mom, and her genes...daughter or granddaughter to Alvar or Enzo. Wistfully talks about her Mom wanting to see Italy (maybe Valenzetti is her father.)

On the Gary Troup web site (garytroupbooks.com or garytroup.net whichever you prefer) there has always been a page for reviews that has been blank. Perhaps we should watch that page this week. Maybe we'll see something there with the re-relaease of Bad Twin (large print) on Wednesday and with all of the Valenzetti chatter.
A lot of us have been trying to find out info re Valenzetti and his equation, and the only sites are the valenzettifoundation.org (which has been deemed OOG) and the watermarkcommunity2 site which Speaker gave some credence to. Everything with Gary Troup has been a deadend, so far.
Maybe Alvar is one grandfather and Enzo is the other? Perhaps working together in the beginning until Mittlewerk came on the scene and things went haywire. That would keep things interesting.

The words were figured out in the comment sections by a few people, not sure there were actual clues, more like hints in a direction like, blue = sarrow...
It looks like the letter came from Mittlewerk, it is 'signed' TM...Thomas Mittelwerk...hmmm

Even if the Calabash thing isn't directly related, the way in which she said it makes me think Rachel's mom is dead. She speaks about her in the past tense, and the "wherever you are" makes me believe that.

my take on the inclusion of the ROT/RDB link in Rachel's blog is I think they included the link as we had already figured it out. They dished the clues out as per their schedule over the weekend even though we had already figured them out, but I guess there was no point continuing that line since it was known for a good while.

Also someone said that they were glad that ACT 2 was less forced and more "go and find things." which IMHO is bull. We have not yet had any real influence on the game. We find stuff early... doesn't matter, we are just following the bread crumbs let to follow.
Chopsshaw: I hear you. What's worse is trying to explain it to famiy and friends that DON'T watch the show. Plus the fact that I haven't done anything like this before, so people and family are so surprised at my obsession with this.
I have been explaining to some relatives, but I have been doing it almost day by day so they have been able to follow what I am saying. I also use printouts of documents and send them the video links so they can feel involved even though I am the one doing all the work... lol
in explaining this game to people not the least aware of it... I try to give it in small doeses and concentrate on the bits that have more relevance to the show. So DHARMA, the heiroglyphs... and then if I haven't lost them try covering other bits the next tier in relevance. But it is near impossible :-)

Well, that "new" Valenzetti site that Speaker gave us and is on the Clue page doesn't really tell us anything we don't know already. Just confirms things. Unless there's something more to this.
Notice the mistake in the bio of Gary Troup on the valenzettiequation.com site: Said he was lost in the Oceanic 815 Flight on September 24, 2000 not 2004. Major error!

the hint that people were following, that we needed to go back and use an old login or password did pan out to be right, "rblake" has been used before, and vegan/allveggie we were aware of, but in this instance they didn't give long between that last ROT board and the answers being given. Maybe something else is happening today and they wanted to make sure we got through this with plenty of time before it, I dunno ~shrugs~ And I agree the video clue doesn't seem to have much in it, though we all seem to have picked up on Rachel referencing her genetics and her mother. Maybe it's another one of those cases where you only realise the significance of something after another development.

And I agree that the gary troup book should come into it at some point soon but we are still missing two interviews. Maybe that is act 3??

I read the book and can't think of anything I would add to this summary.
The book itself mentions The Hanso Foundation, Mittlewerk and Alvar Hanso specifically but doesn't give any new information. Lately we're seeing more and more subtle tie-in's that may not be included yet...
Dr. Armand Zander at the Vik, his last name is the nickname of one of the Widmore's in the book. I'm pretty sure something happened in game... a comment on a blog from someone named "Moth" that was relevant... "Moth" is the nickname of Zander's friend in the book.
We did learn that Valenzetti had an assistant (page 4). Whoever that is must know something!

Belly: I believe that saying was just a way to emphasize that Rachel's mom is deceased and was probably of a certain age when Durante was big. It was a pretty popular thing for a certain generation. You may be right, and if the equation COULD ever exists in reality, it probably would not be buried in a flash file. But it is the closest we will get to the actual formula, till someone ties Hanso down, and extracts the real valenzetti equation :)

I'm putting the binding on a king-size, scrappy 15-patch with alternate stars for our bed. It's the biggest thing I've ever done.
I've been working on it on and off for a few months. It's so big and heavy to work with. I machine quilted it (I do hand also).
Unfortunately, Alvar Hanso or Rachel Blake aren't quilters. Otherwise we would have this figured out by now!

Okay, there is more suspicous audio in this latest video. I've done the usual, cleaned it up and experimented with things. I've got three sound files up on my webspace, the first is the full audio with just some basic reduction of the the background road noises. The second is a treated file, but again the whole audio (I was checking for extra hidden bits. The final clip (which is a wav rather then mp3) is shorter and has a few bits in reverse (as well as forward) and some bits slowed down. There are a lot of potential words there and I'm not going to give any clue. But there was one ominous sentance that seemed to be repeated a few times from my perspective.

Also those "shotgun" microphones are pretty expensive, especially if you want a good one (I think she'd need a good one for what she was doing). No wonder she's starting to run out of money! I'm no expert on covert recordings but I would have thought from the clearly visible effects of wind behind her that she would be getting mostly noise from it without some kind of wind shield.

There's not much info (yet) on Valenzetti. That website (valenzettiequation.com) came out late in the day. Speaker started a new thread with it, and our new admins put it up about the same time (I think). But it didn't have too much new info.

The 'glyphs from the equation turn up on the counter when the button isn't pressed, this implies it does.
My personal theory is this; They have savants furiously working away on the equation in iceland - but Valenzetti apparently finished his equation.
I think that pushing the button does something to the electro magnetic field on the island, it's a long shot, but I think this has something to do with one of the parameters in the equation.
So if THF are constantly changing the parameters of the equation, they need to constantly re-calculate it XD.
Just my suggestion.

kinetic, i admit a few things dont seem to add up, like the hacking thing, and the fact she can afford all this travelling and expensive equipment, she has internet access everywhere, and she had her laptop stolen but then had a new one the very next day...but in the end, its just a game, theres only so much realism you can expect lol ;)

Unidentified Female Voice = GidgetGirl?
Hey all...I'm out of town again but have been reading the comments as often as I get a chance. Just wanted to say "Hi" and mention a few things:
1. I think the RoT are soooo annoying.
2. I think GidgetGirl=Darla (Clue #7 - Phone Message to Hugh) but not the woman's voice in the audio.
3. I'm not sure how much the Jimmy Durante quote is a clue but I do think Rachel's "genes" will be very interesting.
4. I love all the discussion about Valenzetti. It's already been mentioned but Matt the Pale has a great blog findvalenzetti.blogspot.com and thelostexperienceresearch.blogspot.com has a great post about brain power.
5. I've been mulling this around in my head since a convo I had with winston_wolfe a few days ago. In regard to the continuity issues with the game tying into the show: What if season 3 starts with a black screen that says "October 2006" and suddenly the plot jumps again 2 years and the flashbacks are mostly about filling in the blanks? What if in ACT 3 of the ARG we follow Rachel and Mittlewerk to THE island and they become characters in season 3? Of course this possibility is marred by Hugh's appearance on Kimmel. What are other pros & cons to this possibility?

Oh yeah...and I agree wtih marcusallencooper, Peter Thompson definitely sounds just like DJDan and the woman in the audio is definitely Tanya! Is Peter Thompson on our team or is DJDan on theirs? I think Pete/Dan is with us.
Guys, its not a matter of using the same voice actors...they are telling us that Peter = DJDan! ABC is not that cheap and voice actors aren't that expensive!

Admin: I really like your scenario for the start of season 3. The 2004/2006 has always bugged me. I had a similar thought to yours: tv shows can do whatever they want (remember "it was all a dream" on "Dallas?" They can say 2 years went by, and we have to accept it. I like the idea of flashbacks to fill in the long blank. Hopefully, when the show and ARG are on the same page, there will be interaction between the two.
DJDan and Tanya: Definitely the same voice as Peter and Woman. Now what would that mean?

Well, it seems to me that Mittelwerk is supposed to be a strong, evil personality and has a hold over Thompson (especially with the cancer-curing thing). But why would Thompson take on the persona of DJ Dan and "host" a podcast. Not much of any substance has been given on these podcasts to "take down the man". It's mostly been innuendo, nothing solid. Thompson's motives were indicated in P's hack on THF website: Survivor Guilt. He also could be guilty over his past legal manueverings for big oil, tobacco, nuclear industry when it was revealed what the cases he worked on did to the public. Also, ABC wouldn't scrimp to use the same actor for both parts. It's not that much to hire two people. There is a reason it's the same person. However, with Peter being a legal mind, you would think he would come up with other methods rather becoming DJ Dan and hosting pretty tame podcasts that have really done nothing so far to THF other than bad mouth them. I don't know, it's very confusing to me.
Did anyone else see the commercial during Kyle XY? Toward the end of Kyle XY (ABC Family) that really looks like something for the game. It gave this link.... http://madacorp.com and the "tone" of the commercial had the same feel as the Hanso commercials. There is a "employee locator" which may lead to something. I haven't figured it out.

Maybe Gidget Girl is Rachels mother. She had an affair with her father (Hanso???) which is a large part of the reason as to why she didn't like Rachels attack on Hugh because of his affair (also possibly she knows Hugh is DJDan, but that seems crazy because if it's obvious to us it's the same voice we can be damn sure Mittlewerk and his cronnies noticed about the time of the first podcast!). Anyway, perhaps the reason Rachels gut leads her to believe Gidget when logic suggests she should be more cautious is because deep inside she knows it's her mother. That could also explain why there was only a look of partial recognition to Mittlewerk, perhaps he only saw her once as a child or it's just the family resemblence. If she was raised by her mother it's possible the father didn't even know.
Anyway that's my theory. Plus, Rachel said it herself - "Just like Alias".
Well, someone probably might have this theory. This board gets so big that I can't possibly read everything due to my busy schedule.
