Clue #72 - Lost Experience Clues Podcast Episode 9, Rachel Blake Italy Post 06, The Call & The Commercial

We are BACK after being SHUTDOWN by Blogger! There is definitely something fishy about The Lost Experience Clues, Inside the Experience AND Lostpedia all going down at the same time! Is it just a coincidence, or is someone trying to silence us?

Podcast 9 Episode: We got episode 9 of our famous podcast coming in loud and unclear! We talk theories, and delve into our "Plot and Payoff Predictions" to spice up an otherwise slow couple of days. It's pretty long again, so be patient...

Click HERE to launch iTunes, find our podcast, and subscribe.
Click HERE if you'd rather just listen in your browser or right-click and save the file.
Thanks again to MrTimmyC for hosting and faster downloads!

Rachel Blake - Italy Post 06: Rachel updated her site today and received a phone call from non other than Gidget Girl. Click here and use "RBlake" as the id and "FalseDegree" as the password. Or click here to listen without having to use the id or password.

The Call: Yesterday, Speaker mentioned in his comments that he received a phone call instructing him to watch tonight's re-runs of LOST and today we can confirm what he says because we have also received a phone call! Someone with a heavy accent called in and told us that we definitely need to watch tonight, but didn't specify which episode. When we asked who he was, there was only a click... very mysterious. Luckily, we recorded the conversation and will try to have it on next week's podcast! :)

The Commercial: During the U.S. re-airing of "The 23rd Psalm", the Hanso Foundation ran an advertisement (YouTube link thanks to LHorse007) featuring Thomas Mittlewerk in which he said, "Spirited Debate. It is the cornerstone of our philosophy here at the Hanso Foundation We are reaching out to a better tomorow and that means listening to our critics. Even those who would lob unfounded claims from the darkness. We are confident in our mission. That is why we invite you, talk about us discuss our acomplishments and our continued progress. We are here for you. Thank you and namaste."

Thanks to Evil^^, Sean, NoIQ, Michaela, Alex, The Truth Tempest, Andrew, Jeremy and many others for being the first to email us.

Forget Stopping Hanso...Stop Disney!! I am about to bust a blog on Eisner's Arse.

http://www.variety.com/VR1117946640.html
The Mouse House will announce within the next 10 days that it's cutting back on the number of films it makes to around eight per year -- it currently releases around 18 -- and will substantially reduce its workforce. All movies will be Disney-branded, meaning companies like Touchstone could be vastly diminished.

Please watch our commercials so we can hire more Human Services Representatives to lay off the mousekateers

Hey, all, I'm glad I came back with things jumping around here! I read those Speaker's comments last night about the phone call as he posted them. It's very spooky that all main blogs got the same call, and there were technical problems, too. Coincidence...I think not!

So Rachel's off to Paris after eating some "tacosalad". GidgetGirl is Hugh's mistress and is British. Anybody find Rachel's email?

My DVR is set to Lost tonite, awaiting the EST people to keep up PST people and the rest of world informed!

Long time observer of the game, but enjoy the conversation in this blog the best.

Isn't Psalm 23 the episode were the producers say we may have saw the monster and didn't know it. Also are we sure the clue is in the commercial and not in the episode??

7/12/2006 06:57:00 PM
Blogger ColdUpHere said...

bigdog: in the episode? What a marketing tool for ABC. They can start making clues out of the episodes, and we'll all have to scramble to by the DVD seasons.

I completely understand, and it is your choice to watch, as it is my choice not to watch. No bad feelings here, but I detest this marketing direction ABC is taking. And I shudder at any support given to Disney in this marketing campaign. Because if Disney-ABC sees a gain in revenue, and viewer acceptance of this type marketing, you can bet all ya got, they (the networks) will repeat this marketing approach.

Good Night All and Peace!

7/12/2006 07:02:00 PM
Blogger Scoutpost said...

Yes the 23rd Psalm was definitely one of the episodes that they mentioned that we may have seen the monster but did not realize/recognize it...but what that means I don't know. And whether it will have any impact on the game I don't think so...but now that you've mentioned it, I think I will definitely record the show tonite.

7/12/2006 07:03:00 PM
Blogger sean said...

im betting it will be a anti-hanso commercial. it will probably be like one of those attack ad commercials for politicians. and at the bottom in black and white it will say

for more information, visit
hansoexposed.com

what will be really cool is if they have those black and white pictures of thompson, mcintyre and mittlewekr, and have some voiceover talking about all the bad stuff they've been doing.

if we're really lucky, it will lead to another hanso press release.

I have been reading a bit on the numbers forum today and was intrigued that in discussion of tacosalad there there was a mention of a Madrid post. I went to the tacosalad blog a few times when it was up and there were only ever the four locations Rachel has been to (or on her way to), so I don't know what is up with that. Noone there seems to have archived it either. I can't recall what order they appeared in but I have a feeling they were jumbled... I think Copehagen was second (ie third from the top). I remember the dates were all the same and no pictures.

Anyway... I fully expected Rachel to be in all of Act II and that it would be 48 days long. If she's going to Paris now... I find it hard to believe she will remain there for the rest of Act II. A few scenarios: Act II is not 48 days long; Rachel has more destinations ahead of her but they only had 4 on tacosalad; Rachel has more destinations ahead of her but she isn't going to mention them on her cover blog; Rachel is going to stop her blog altogether; Rachel will not be around for all of Act II...

And I few observations I forgot to post earlier. In the phone conversation with gidgetgirl Rachel seems to indicate that "Rachel Blake" is her real name. Also, with the segment of the original phone messages to Hugh's voicemail the first message sounds like the voice of Mittlewerks from Rachel's TWM/PT/mystery woman audio recording, but it sounds to me like he says "Hugh, Thomas..." If the voice is Mittlewerks, why is he refering to himself???

The twelve steps to follow as part of TLEA:

1. I admit I am powerless over The Lost Eperience.
2. I have come to believe that a Power (Hanson Foundation?) greater than I could restore my sanity.
3. I have made a decision to turn my life over to Rachel Blake.
4. I have made a moral inventory of the use of office technology to follow TLE.
5. I have admitted to my wife that I am addicted.
6. I have admitted to my coworkers the exact nature of my wrongdoings (got caught f-5ing it)
7. I have humbly asked Speaker to reveal more clues daily.
8. I have made a list of all those on the TLEC blog, and am willing to make amends.
9. I apologize to all on the TLEC blog for lurking for so long.
10. I continue to take a personal inventory of and promptly admit when I cannot stop refreshing.
11. I have sought meditation to improve my conscious contact with Alvar Hanson.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, I have carried the message to other addicts.

Here in Central Time we've seen a lot of Chrysler commercials. Every time that crazy professor comes on with his "accent" I think it might be the mysterious caller. Speaking as a marketing person, this little tease has been brilliant...no one is clicking away at the commericals! As a TLEA, it's making me a bit twitchy.

Why did Rachel put that audio with GG on an ABC - LOST site? Maybe she finally realizes there is an island with survivors on it!

oy vey, why do I have a feeling they are leaving the commecial for the end, to keep the ratings up longer....

Maven and Sweetscrapper, that's hilarious. I have to say, from paying such agonizing attention to the ads, I now know how to keep my whites white, what's better than American Idol, and that I need to get a Verizon phone in order to find my way out of a hardware store.
Advertising Gods, we're paying attention! Please reward us with a clue! Or a Rachel Video! Or just say Hanso once, out loud....man, I'm jonesin'...

If there is going to be anything tonight - it's going to be in the last 5 min. That's when the Hanso commercials aired. Don't give up!
