Clue #88 - Fragment Code "vix7zxt97"

In the newest Official Lost Podcast there is an interruption in the middle (around 27:52) in which the new fragment code, "vix7zxt97" is revealed. Entering this code at hansoexposed.com reveals another video of Mr. Beardy saying "Why all the security, all the secrecy? The answer is simple."

*Check out Matt the Pale's summary of all the found fragment codes at...Matt the Pale's HansoExposed Video Fragment Code List

Since his ground-breaking interview with Rachel Blake, we've been keeping an eye on Jeff "Doc" Jensen over at Entertainment Weekly. Thought we'd let everyone know that he has gone public today with his latest theory about how the whole Lost Experience will turn out. HERE is a link if you'd like to check it out!

The really frustrating thing is that the whole thing is probably 3-4 minutes long and it's going to take weeks, if we keep going at this rate, to put it all together. All that work for 3-4 minutes. Better be big payoff.

I agree with Marcus; there's no evidence yet to show unambigously whether this is Alvar Hanso or not. I'm pretty sure the continuation to "I'm ..." will be published last. Personally I think this is Hanso; a) because he says 'my organisation', b) TPTB are holding out on his identity, c) he someone who's face we had not yet come across, and d) because he has a nordic kind of accent (I may be crap at finding glyphs but I have a good ear for accents).

For the "Do It Yourselfers" go into your browser cache folder and delete all unnecessary files (BE Careful, you can mess up your history) In Opera, it is straight forward, just don't delete the "dcache4" file. Now log onto hansoexposed, and load your video segments. Once loaded, go back into browser cache and copy all the file into a new folder. At this point in time you should have 21 oddly named .flv files...those are the video clips. These can be renamed and played back offline one at a time with a flv player like "FLV Player" (free shareware, do a google search.

There is more manipulating you can do with these files, but I wont go into that now. As more video segments are added, Dial Up users will be cut out of the loop, because of download times, so storing the flv files in a clean directory will allow dial uppers to at least see the fragments. In the mean time I have youtubed the video, so dial up ppl can maybe see it (when I had dial up, 12 megs an hour was good rate, this video is now at 7.5 megs, which is over 1/2 hour to download this thing)

Many dial up users have good brains, just no broadband...let's help em a little.

Sorry, I was offline for awhile... Were you able to figure it out? When you have your clips in the order you want them in, hit save and a link will appear for several seconds right above where you hit Save. You can click on that and it will play your sequence in a new window. Or, like lostmyid said, you can click "Send Sequence" and send yourself an email with the link to watch it later. These can both only be done from the most zoomed out view of the clips.

Morning all!

I agree with you Shakey. I have said since the first clip of Mr. Beardy that it is Alvar Hanso. The number one thing that sold me was the conversation between TWM and Peter Thompson on the beach in Sanremo: TWM told Thompson that he has a DVD of an orientation film with Alvar talking about the Valenzetti Equation. Everything else just falls into place.

The thing that has me worried is: Could this video indeed be the end? This video can reveal all we been told will be revealed: The numbers, the Valenzetti Equation, more DHARMA stuff. Also, we can also get pretty much exactly what TWM is currently up to as he lectures potential new scientists and workers. Once we know what TWM is up to, what are we supposed to do? We know he's headed for that mysterious island with a boatload of "stuff" and now a group of people. Once he's been exposed (supposedly by this video), are we supposed to stop him?

The only big question maybe remaining will still be: Where is Alvar Hanso? Maybe our job is to find him and get him to help stop TWM and rest of the current Hanso Foundaton gang.

sean/crossfade-People don't have anything to talk about. I used to love to post and specualte, but come on how many times can we discuss whether Mr. Beardy is Alvar Hanso....other than that there's not much else to do except complain about hansoexposed.com, talk about the show (which spoils for others), and reorder our clips. Here's hoping the last 49 clips will have more to offer.

Maven Wrote: The only big question maybe remaining will still be: Where is Alvar Hanso? Maybe our job is to find him and get him to help stop TWM and rest of the current Hanso Foundaton gang.
I agree Maven, I have been trying to figure where this would go once we KNOW the big secret. BUT we will still have to find out who Rachel really is, and figure out why she is so important.

8/01/2006 09:20:00 AM
Blogger maven said...

Hi, ange: Yes, you're right. Another big question still unanswered (and most likely not in the video) will be Rachel's motives and possibly who her parents are. I'm still in the camp that she's related to Alvar (most likely granddaughter).

So far these clips have not provided us with anything that is earth shattering. Most of us figured alot of this out already from other sources. Any big reveal or informational clip will be held to the very end!

ange: Yeah, does anyone have an unresolved issues page for the TLEC. There's a lot more besides what Mittlework is up to. The ones you mentioned plus:

-Why was Save Me referenced so many times? Who is it?
-Who are Rachel's parents?
etc... Anyone know if they are compiled somewhere?

Blogger Tresbien said...

Crossfade, I think it's simply too soon to know for sure the order of these clips. I believe that Rachel will start saying where she's going in Sri Lanka, Mittelwerk addressing this group both before and after the orientation film (possibly two films), and Rachel again at the end.

I don't know if bearded guy is Alvar or not. He doesn't seem to be old enough to have sold arms during WWII, but he does refer to "my organization." And this man filmed in 1975 is not the same person whose photo was in the 1980 orientation film. I'm thinking it's either Alvar or his son. Dad could have continued running the company while the son ran the foundation. A son also would be a better age fit to have fathered Rachel.

Hi, tresbien: Yes, I agree it's way too early to really get a consensus as to what the order should be. Everytime someone posts their sequence, I check it against mine and there's usually a few that are different. As long as we start putting the clips in some sort of section order as we get them, we need to wait for more to fill in the blanks. It can give you somewhat an idea of where this is going, but we need to wait for quite a few more to get a more definitive order.

It's very frustrating comparing mine to others. I've stopped doing that. LOL

You know I was thinking of something, especially since you are on Maven, I wanted to talk about with you and others. I read your and Jamaster's Lost Grand Theory the other day and I was wondering why...

******************SPOILER ALERT***************************

you have Magnus and slaves as the potential creators of the foot statue? Just curious why you thought they made it? My first thoughts when I saw this was that it is much, much older than this. My first thought that came to my head is that maybe the island was inhabited long ago and was somehow a part of a very old civilization, and while there are no other relics that they have found on the island yet, maybe the island detached from some sort of mainland? I don't know if anyone else has ever brought this up, but it was just an idea - maybe they would even tie it in to Atlantis or some such thing? So I was just curious why you and Jamaster came up with Magnus having created it?

8/01/2006 09:43:00 AM
Blogger maven said...

hi, lordune: Thanks for checking out our Lost Grand Theory (a work in progress!). Jamaster actually worked on that section, but since we have no solid evidence as this point for that statute, it's just a theory utilizing what known info we do have. Basing it on the fact that Magnus was a slave trader, the Black Rock is there on the island, so most likely slaves were also there. Maybe it was some god that these slaves worshipped. I really don't want to speak for jamaster (who did that section), so maybe you can email him or leave a comment on our message board, and he can better explain his reasoning,

This is a theory afterall, and we welcome comments such as yours and other ways to look at things.

when peter thompson asked TVM if Alvar was on-board with the "project" that they were doing, TVM said that Yes Alvar was, the orientation dvd about the Valenzetti equation has Alvar talking all about it. This leads me to believe the the DVD that TVM was talking about was a newer video and not one from the 80's.

8/01/2006 09:56:00 AM
Blogger Christine said...

Why would TVM show reference a video that was decades old to Peter Thompson. It just would seem silly.

8/01/2006 09:57:00 AM
Blogger Mark Nunemaker said...

yeah, no I understand the theory, and I thought a lot of the ideas were great! I was just curious what had made you think of Magnus making that - I will ask Jamaster. It just seems to me that the statue looked much older than something built in 1881 (or thereafter). So on my silly idea of Atlantis though, has anyone ever talked about that? That maybe there are more forces at work with the "incidents" than just current human intervention (like the Losties or the Others causing the incidents)? Maybe the statue was a clue that an older civilization had died out from the same sort of incidents? Maybe an older civilization had advanced technology to the point that they could have Lives Extended among other things, but something went terribly wrong? And maybe Hanso somehow found out about it and has been trying to achieve what an earlier civilization failed at? Just some thoughts that went through my head when I saw the foot, and obviously my first thought was of Atlantis. Just curious if anyone else had ever discussed this.

powerslave73-

I agree with you, but most people seem to think that if Alvar is getting younger looking, it is because of the Life Extension Projects. There seems to be some discrepancies with both TWM looking younger in more recent videos too, and obviously Dr. Wickmund/Candle as well. So maybe they are all starting to look younger and maybe TPTB are doing this on purpose - I would hate to think that they are making that many mistakes otherwise lol!

8/01/2006 10:06:00 AM
Blogger Christine said...

no I dont think that is plausabble. TVM said if you want to see if Alvar is on board, then watch the DVD. They were discussing a current project, I dont think it was for kicks.

8/01/2006 10:16:00 AM
Blogger maven said...

Yes, shakey and christine: When TWM referred Thompson to the DVD it was because Thompson was "bugging" him about whether Alvar was onboard or not since he hasn't been seen for awhile. TWM replies that, of course, he's on board. I have a DVD of him talking all about the Valenzetti Equation. There's your proof! (paraphrasing)

One possible way to explain the age problem with Alvar on the video in 1975 and "Alvar" in the grainy photo seen in 1980 films (and on THF website dated Oct. 28, 2003): The grainy, long distance photo of the head of THF shows a distinguished gentleman. Maybe that "stock" photo was used instead of a younger person (the Alvar from circa 1975) for some unknown reason. (The head of a big Foundation should be seen as older and more distinguished?) Also, maybe this strange blood disease he has can rapidly age people? Maybe Alvar has gone into hiding by 1980 and they used this stock photo in the orientation videos. I know these are bizarre, off-the-wall theories but isn't this whole thing that way? LOL

8/01/2006 10:27:00 AM
Blogger maven said...

shakey: As you can see from the transcript that Marcus kindly posted...the DVD is proof that Hanso is "onboard".

I feel that this video will somehow reveal that TWM and the current Hanso Foundation gang are going forward with plans originally set up by Alvar back from when DHARMA started in 1970. But TWM has manipulated the reasoning behind DHARMA and SPIDER for his own purposes. Alvar was forced out from THF by TWM and the Board of Directors (which TWM controlled by blackmailing, etc.) and he took over control of THF. He now has a working version of the Valenzetti Equation (thanks to those autistic savants) and either knows the exact date of when the apocalypse will occur or he can manipulate the date. He's gathering a new batch of scientists and workers, he's got a lot of "stuff" on the HA and they're heading for that original island with the correct properties to install the SPIDER Protocol to prepare for the apocalypse. Using LEP (including genetic engineering and harvested organs), they plan to outlive any aftermath. Alvar originally set up DHARMA for good purposes, but slowly the goals were changed for evil purposes thanks to TWM.

The continuity issue is certainly something to consider regarding the discrepancy between the 1975 film if it's Alvar and the photo used in the 1980 film and on THF site. It might be explained that Alvar being so reclusive didn't want his own picture on the website, but that would raise questions from people with whom he's interacted over the years. And there's one more thing to consider, which is the photo underneath Alvar's pic on THF site. Who is that guy and why was it hidden? If the 1975 film is Alvar, why didn't they simply age a photo of that person?

Another thing that bothers me is how Rachel speaks of him. Even if she disapproves of his actions and didn't know he was her father until recently, one would think she'd speak of him in a more personal way than "old Alvar."

8/01/2006 11:23:00 AM
Blogger maven said...

Hi, jess! I think this 1975 film was geared to the scientists who were going to the island to observe other people in the various stations. They would get the whole reasoning and information as to why they were getting involved in this. The Swan and Pearl films were orientation for the subjects of DHARMA, not the scientists who were observing them. IMHO.

8/01/2006 11:27:00 AM
Blogger maven said...

Tres: Besides the fact that Rachel is not letting us in on her motives and relationship with any of the players yet, she would talk disparagingly (is that a word?) regarding Alvar because (1) she harbors resentment towards him because he was not part of most of her life, or (2) she resents him for leaving her mother or the way he treated her mother, or (3) she might not really know yet that she's related to him somehow (not likely, in my opinion).

I really don't think Sri Lanka is the final destination. (It's even the current news with the government fighting Tamil Guerillas). I don't think it a place where they can set up something like the SPIDER Protocol, etc. without being detected right away. I think Sri Lanka was a "staging" place. Where the next group of scientists gathered to be picked up by the HA along with more equipment. Darla and Hugh didn't like what was happening in Sri Lanka because it was the gathering site and the last stop before the final destination. Maybe the last place where they could possibly stop what was going on. (Another interpretation. LOL)

It fits the description given when they were hunting for an actor for someone we think is Hanso. It also fits this underground idea and why Hanso might be pro-Rachel. Also why Mittlwork is in charge of HF and Alvar is AWOL.

chopsshaw: If you're in the Recently Saved Sequences page the 19/19 means that it has loaded 19 of the 19 clips you have on your timeline. Some have reported that they'll have all the clips on the timeline but it will only register a portion of them on this screen. We don't know if it's totally a bug or somehow refers to the number you have in the right order.

Food Drops..Maybe Penny Widmore...How & Why?

Why...because Desmond is there and she knows it

How...Since the Island can not be found?

The exact Island location may not be known by the supplier of food and etc, but the portal that leads to the island may be known...drop the food into the portal, in the hopes that the food arrives on the island...this would also explain why no plane was seen or heard during the most recent drop.

Twinkle-The message board is easy...just read a thread and you can post a comment, similar to here, but less immidiate response. Check it out if you are serious, you can link to it on the right-----> under the research blog link. All you'd have to do is create a username and password. I will look into copying the other info and starting a new thread over there either today or tomorrow.

Oh and just_trying-Nope, not many over in the chat either...people are resuming life I think:)

Actually, in terms of capital letters, I get SOURCJE. Yes, I know the J is at the beginning of a sentence, but no other words at the beginning of sentences are capitalized.

Also, the elephant picture has the URL of http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/4269/acquakandytd5.jpg

The satelitte picture has the URL of http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/8607/myhomelv5.jpg

I'm wondering if 'acquakandyt5' might be the next code.

that blog looks suspicious to me. why would abc use imageshack to host pics? all her other pics were hosted on the same server as her site. fishy!

IMO http://rachelblake.blogspot.com/ is real; it leads to Rachel's profile. The cap letters in the blog spell "SOURCE". The source code contains http://blockhanso.blogspot.com/
which is her new stophanso blog. She writes "... The truth is in the video. The glyphs are coming. This one is one of the most important. Don't lose it." So that fragmenr may be released at a later date.

8/01/2006 03:20:00 PM
Blogger Skippy402 said...

Does that mean that the blockhanso.blogspot site is fake too?

Link is http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/6145/myhome2ws1.jpg
http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/8607/myhomelv5.jpg
Rachel says "I'm home now." Note the image names "myhome" followed by what could spell another glyph or glyphs.

8/01/2006 03:24:00 PM
Blogger Lost in Portugal said...

I think it's fake. Why would she use imageshack? Why do all the links point to stophanso?

Marcus, to answer your earlier question (been away for the day).
Just figured out how to measure distances in Google Earth -
The island location I proposed is c. 1600 miles (1390 nautical miles) from Fiji and c. 600 miles (521 nautical miles) from Tahiti. 1 week's sailing at 9 knots steady gets you 1512 nautical miles (Desmond's comment), 3 days out of Tahiti at 7.2 knots would also get you to the location (Rousseau's comment). Plus: if you draw a line (in Google Earth with "Measure tool") from Sydney to LA it passes just above Tokelau in the South Pacific which is just over 1000 miles away from the location I proposed at 16 23' 42" S 158 4' 0" W

as to the Polar bear - I think it's more likely some weird experiment

Ok since it has been a slooooow day, here's a couple of off topic things:
1) Has anyone given consideration to keeping up this community after the ARG is over and season 3 starts? Such good discussion among this group and we all get along so well (play sappy music).
2) Also sappy- what if we make a t-shirt to remember the TLE? It could have the dates on it May whatever to Sept./Oct. whatever. On the back we could have TLEC and list everybody's blogger name (ok I know this might be impossible, but if we used small font, could at least put a few hundred names on a shirt right?) OK if everybody thinks this idea is too juvenile, my feelings won't be hurt, but I think it would be pretty cool and unique. Someone who is creative could design it and figure out how to sell it online (don't know anything about that).
Of course, if the game doesn't pick up we may not want to remember this experience in a couple of months! LOL

Blogger maven said...

hey, scoutpost! I'm with you about keeping up some sort of communication after the ARG. We'll always have LOST to discuss, and maybe, how the ARG factors in new episodes. Hopefully, David will keep TLEC up and running after the ARG "ends". Maybe the chat room will still be there.

I've been having such a great time getting to know everybody, and having it end "cold turkey" would be tough. When I tell my husband that this is supposed to end the start of Season 3, he just says: "This will NEVER be over!" LOL I think we'll always have SOMETHING to talk about!
