ryandrumz-could be Hanso, could be Joop for all we know. I have a sneaking suspicion that it may not be Alvar who is HE. It just seems like something they would do. I really feel that there was more to Mittlewerk recognizing Rachel...maybe He is Mittlewerk...Iron Man was or is his bodyguard/assistant.
jeremy: I think TPTB want to keep Rachel's secret for a big aha! moment in the game either at the end of Act 2 or end of the game.
ange: I've seen it a few times... don't usually turn on the tv until the little one is in bed, so not really. A couple of months ago, I was made privy to incriminating evidence concerning my boss and his overseas business projects. The research he has become engaged in -- using the resources and talents of many unwitting employees –- is questionable and almost certainly criminal in nature. To worsen matters, being that my boss is the CEO of a major scientific research company, his unethical acts affect many more lives than just those of my colleagues. I don’t know what to do. Do I sacrifice my career to stop him -- or sit by and watch him ruin the company? I’m aware that blowing the whistle can have drastic consequences, but I feel morally obligated to take some action.

I agree that the leading candidate for HE is Hanso right now. But, if I were writing this game, I would put in a twist, say HE being Widmore? Or someone powerful that we'd go, WHAT!!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS HANSO!!! BUT THAT MAKES SENSE! DARN!!!

Longtime lurker here. Just wondering if "he" could possibly be Rachel's dad? After all the "I heard your mother died, I assume it was she who told you (pardon the misquote)" ... would it be a leap to assume her Dad might be involved somehow as well? Just a thought ...
If Eraser/Ironman has had contact with Hanso, via TM. wouldnt that mean that Hanso knows what TM is doing. which would make all of us pawns in this manhunt...

My gut reaction is that it is Alvar Hanso who is the HE. HE probably knew that her mother had died. The "you have a vested interest" line would tie Rachel to THF and Alvar himself.
Okay... I rescind the Alvar being the leading candidate for HE. Peter is just as likely.
As for whatever Ironman was referring to Rachel finding out from her mom:
-it could mean HE=Rachel's father, it does seem to be going that way
-it could also mean whatever involvement her family (father, mother, etc) had with THF, Darma, etc., but not necessarily HE=her dad
-this is a subset of the previous... it could mean that her mom told her that she was dying because of the Soilent Green Hanso gave her to eat
Doc Jensen predicts that ROT folks is now a done deal in this game. Seems like Act II is winding down with all these spoon fed clues and Comic-Con is when things will start picking up. I can't wait. I will record and try to post what I get right away. I am not staying long after the Lost thing. Ends aroud 12:00 Sat. So I will go home and try to get the video out...

Alvar could be Rachel's grandfather. Her mother could have been Alvar's daughter. Either way: HE = Alvar Hanso IMHO
When someone has a vested interest in something a lot more than "you should do this because it's important information, etc." Vested interest connotes that Rachel is connected to what's happening at THF. THF is her legacy...it's part of her.

dunse: certainly opens up the possibility of her being there, and it would be cool for everyone there, but... sorry, there is a but... but I don't see it happening, mainly because it would require a lot from TPTB to pull it off well (yes, I know, they haven't pulled off some other things well...). I mean think about it, if a bunch of fans see Rachel there in the flesh, don't you think that any faux threat to her could be in serious danger? I picture it now... Mittelwerk and bodyguards run after Rachel through the convention hall and are suddenly tackled and beaten to a pulp while hearing "THIS IS FOR JOOP!" and "You big fake doctor!"

Well, she would likely be mobbed by folks wanting to know how they could help or even fanboys (ala BBB) professing their devotion.
If she does show up at the Con, I think it would be neat if it were in the form of a Persephone hack done in mid Hanso presentation... a dream but easier to pull off by the powers that be.

@Luke: yeah, I'm concerned too. But I think it's a really good plot twist because this part of the game fitted perfectly for following Rachel blindly. She had all the info, she had al the videos. And now it seems that she fooled us all. How great is that! It makes everything a lot more interesting :)

my predicition for comic con:
damon and carlton will be giving their speech against THF and during it rachel will either appear in person or she will hack into their presentation and spread the word about what the heck is going on... and i'm pretty much 99% sure this is what will occur.
I highly doubt G4 will actually show the whole 1 1/2 hours of the Lost Thing going on. They usually cover bits and pieces of things here and their like they did with the E3 thing. Just thought I'd let you guys know so you don't get your hopes up. There will be at least 10 of us filming, so don't worry.

Ryan i believe will be video taping the entire thing. I myself will be taking photographs of it all. I'm sure others will too. I'll be posting all info the night after i get it over at my blog and then I email admin and let him post any of the info here if he wants.
tapdawg: that's what I'm currently thinking, though maybe with some "Spirit Debate" between representatives for THF on one side, and Damon and Carlton on the other, and a hack interrupting THF's hitech video or powerpoint presentation.

my personal opinion (which of course you may all disregard if you like) is that HE is rachel's father. not that i know who rachel's father is.
We don't know when Rachel's mother died.
Rachel could have taken up hacking the site after her mother was killed. Fact that P does not equal RB does not mean that Rachel did not also perform hacks.
I don't believe RB when she said she is persephone. At least not yet. I am open to more confirmatin once we figure out who her mother is/was.

Guys, I was just thinking about the 2 "HE/HIM" reference in the video. Is this our connection to the island and the Dharma INitiative? Making 2 such references would seem silly if it was about 2 different people. So with that being said, if the HE is Alvar, then the people of the Dharma Initiative are waiting for Alvar to show up on the island... maybe to help them? Did Mittlewerk try to start his takeover a long time ago?

kylelane--if Rachel's mother "told" her something about THF, why is she acting as if she has no idea what's going on with THF?
I think that R really knows more than she's telling us. It seems that she was told something that got her all bunched up about taking Hanso down. Gatekepa in the message board commented that perhaps Rachel's mother was no saint and that she has done some bad things. Maybe Rachel is ashamed and doesn't want us to know what her mother has done.

According to DJ Dan, Alvar is around 120 years old if he's still alive.

Her mother could have begun to tell Rachel about what was happening at THF (since the Widmore Corp and THF are working closely) and (in my opinion) Alvar Hanso was her father/grandfather. Therefore, Rachel had a "vested interest" in what was happening at THF. Alvar was being forced out by the evil Mittelwerk and his "enforcers". So the SHE is Rachel's mother at Widmore Corp and the HE is Alvar Hanso (as her father or grandfather).

Annebeth, comic con is the worlds largest comic convention in the world. Vendors from across the globe come here to buy and sell different items ranging from Comic books to action figures, as well as t-shirts and costumes. The guys from Lost first showed their first episode at comic con two years ago and have been coming back ever since. They are having a conference here on saturday and during which Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse (Executive producers of Lost) will be having a press meeting about their views agaisnt the hanso foundation.

That's why i was thinking HE might be Gary Troup. He seems to be a better age fit. How do we know he was on Flight 815? Maybe Troup's death is a cover up... Maybe he missed the plane and is using the crash to hide from THF. Does his name show up on the flight manifest?

I found that if you cut and paste from TLEC main page, that you have to put it in a word doc first and remove the spaces to make it all on one line. It didn't work without removing the weird spacing.
We still have until Sat for Comic-Con. Also these videos happened awhile ago. She could be at Comic-Con by Saturday if she flew out Friday night. It's possible...I hope this goes down.

I think that we can leave Hugh and Zander off the list, since they are both probably dead. If it were one of them, wouldn't Ironman have said "He WOULD HAVE wanted me to help you?" or "He WANTED me to help you." Since he said "He WANTS me to help you," I would assume that the person is still alive.

I think we can take Joop off the list also. She doesnt appear ape-like to me, and joop doesnt have freckles for all I can tell!
I would also eliminate Jack, Sawyer and Henry as being too young to be her father, and Mr. Paik because Rachel doesn't look Korean at all.

Sorry haven't read the all the comments yet but here is where I stand on Ironman!
He is ALVAR HANSO. The life extension drugs have taken years off his life. Just like mittlewerk said "Joop doesn't look 105 years old." He is also Mandrake Wig, clues here, the cast list called for a man named Frank Deeds, if you haven't seen the classic film Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (or the crappy Adam Sandler Remake Mr. Deeds) then you probably don't realize that it is about an innocent man from a tiny town called Mandrake Falls. He soo realizes he's the only living heir of a giant corperation, and he becomes the president overnight. He is forced out by his rivals, who see his turn to corperate responsiblity as a threat to the bottom line. It's only a guess but it kind of sounds loosely like Alvar Story of taking a war machine and turning it into a corperation to better mankind. Just a thought??

Also, does anyone else think that Rachel or this game for that matter won't tie in with the main losties. What if you are not playing this ARG, but are really in to the show...how would you make the connection between the game and the show for season 3.

For some reason, the people of the Dharma intitiative on the island dont seem like good candidates, becase if they are fathers/mothers.... then they would not be into kidnapping children for their own purposes.
The pronoun HE... I think that the three instances of HE in the Lost Universe are for three distinct male idividuals... basically, I think everyone is overanalyzing the use of the masculine subject pronoun! HE does not equal HE does not equal HE... this is faulty logic!

1)HE used by Desmond and Kelvin when someone first use it: Likely referred to the next guy sent by/hired to run the hatch so I can go back to my real life... could have meant someone specific, but regardless means little to us with regard to the game (my opinion)
2)HE used by FakeHenry: could have been fictitious, or even a self reference, since he was a master manipulator... again doubt any relation with respect to
3)Ironman's usage of HE in the video today... this HE is someone that wants Ironman to help Rachel, Ironman is willing to follow, hence, the most logical choice is someone high up in THF (Alvar, Peter, or even a not-dead Hugh) or a someone powerful connected th THF (Widemore or someone like that).

christine-I read the article too, but relevant is different than integral plot, my opinion, so take it as you will. I agree with Melissa_Lossa too, it wouldn't be fair to have a major plot tie-in be revealed in-game. I also just don't see how that will happen with the 2 year time difference. Again only my opinion though.
I think the end of the game will leave us with a "well how did that happen anyway?" cliff-hanger that will be answered in the season premiere.

Dr Jensen has some insider knowledge... he hints at this... also his statement about Rachel having important info for all Lost fans makes sense, when read in context with his article about fans of Lost... think about it, the 3 tiers of fans: Dwights, Michaels, and Jim/Pams... the game would mirror his theory of fans... first the Dwights get pulled into the game in act one, then more Michaels get pulled into the game in Act 2 (clues being easier to find, less technosavy needed), and lastly, the general population of fandom of Lost gets pulled into the game (a stretch but how about we just say more fans get pulled in) once the new reveal comes out

The plot tie in could be tied up in the first few minutes of Season 3. probably not a huge spoiler, but could be something interesting like what is Dharma's purpose or why was it abandoned (if it was).
The Jim/Pam's of the world might never know a secret has been revealed until they Tivo lost on Oct. 4th. After the beginng of the show they are caught up. no harm no foul.
I think she left out who HE is since it would explain her history which is being saved for a big reveal/climax... it will help things fall into place when we find out... TPTB need to build suspense and tease the players (the father bit is still an assumption on our part, a good one but still unproven)

I'm still skeptical about tie-ins with Lost characters though...I'm more of the mind that it is a mythology behind the WHY of the island rather than the who is on it.

Wasn't the picture that showed up behind Joop Dr. Zander? I thought there was a big discussion going on early in the game because his photo kept appearing everywhere.
ARG monitor only shows THF.org update the swf yesterday. Someone and LHorse were having a debate yesterday as to whether or not the info that pops up after 100 seconds about the orientation was different. So far today I have waited for the ding and the red writing to come up, but only a very quiet ding and no writing. Maybe it did update today?
