We wanted to let everyone know about a minor adjustment we have made to our blog. We will now display only the 20 latest posts on our front page and the rest will be archived by the month that they were posted. You will now see links to archived items in the sidebar to the right.
We made this adjustment as a response to several emails about problems with our feed being recognized by iTunes. After troubleshootizing in Feedburner, we realized that our feed was way TOO BIG. From now on, any media in the latest 20 posts (pdf documents, video, or audio) should be available in iTunes for free for those who have a (free) subscription to our podcast. If you haven't subscribed yet, you should. It's pretty cool.
Consequently, the front page of this blog & the RSS feed should load much faster! Hope this helps and doesn't cause anyone any inconvenience or confusion. Looking forward to another fun week...

adelphiadella: Unfortunately, that's exactly how I feel and I'm getting a little worried with this. 14 glyphs per week means three more weeks of this ultra boring glyph hunting. Are you even sure that this game will have two more phases? Because it looks like they want to drag this gylph stuff till season 3's premiere...

the pyramids is how you get to one of the podcasts. you get pyramids, and click on the pyramid icon at the bottom, and it takes you to a podcast.

Yo Yo, Morning all. Great Idea on the blog to fasten things up here. I think if TLEC gets a glyph, we should hide it so it's hard and cool to find. Make it interesting and show the ITE world how cool we are...Make it good cause I think RB will give us one since everybody has been getting them..

Actually, the "pyramids" clue from DJ Dan was a way to find one of the first July podcasts, I believe ... it activated the link associated with the pyramid picture at the bottom of the page, and when you clicked on it, you were brought to the podcast.

Some people at the fuselage are saying that those articles mentioning five phases were wrong. I don't what to think anymore, but I realy don't want the game to end in such a boring way...

I'm sorry, but this is just a game. I'm just like all of you, reading every comment on every post. Now, all that I read is people complaining about Jamie's acting, TPTB screwing up, and how this game has made some bad turns. I just roll with it and go with the flow. Maybe they are just giving us a break for act 4 and 5... I think they will kick it up a notch Because of all the complaining. So I'm not saying don't complain, but don't complain too much and hopefully things will get better. Hang in there guys and gals.
ryandrumz: In any game, the major fun comes from "playing", not from the "end result". This game is not fun to play anymore. That's why we are complaining.

Lost, your right, this glyph thing is slow and boring. But it gives us all a chance to step away from our computers and breathe some fresh air. Also, my boss is much happier I'm not huddled over my PC F5ing all the time. It will get better.

Remember Doc Jensen's article about Dwights, Micheals, and Jim/Pam's? (It was Doc Jensen, right?) Well, now we know that he gets insider information and is quasi-official. Maybe he was telling us something.
Act 1 was for the Dwights. Act 2 was to draw in the Micheal's. Act 3 they're trying to reach even the Jim/Pam's. The only problem is that they're losing the Dwights. Oh well, Act 4 & 5 are up for grabs.
Marcus: I copied all of your nano stuff from the last comment thread. I'm collecting stuff for a nano article maybe on the Research blog. Do you have any more? You seem more knowledgeable about the subject than me. I only catch a science article about it now and then.
Somehow nanotech doesn't seem in flavor with other verified work they've been doing - removing organs, conducting psychology and para-psychology experiments, investigating adaptation in humans and animals to extreme environments, etc.... Look at how old the Dharma computers were. I don't have anything but a gut feeling right now, but it's telling me the nanotech track isn't quite right because it's too modern or lab intensive or something. I'm dissappointed because nanotech would explain a lot.

Painkiller had an interesting idea this morning....let's come up with some questions for DJ Dan's podcast. Our collective brain power should be able to come up with some good ones.
ya but marcus that podcast is readily available in his archives so the pyramid code is redundent now, Rachel ecapsulated what happened until comicon on her sight. Marcus what was the deal with her sight getting hacked. I took it as hanso planting something on her site. When zander revealed about the mathamaticians he talked about the glyphs from the show, then the coundown clocks glyphs were on her site, but I thought and many others have expressed that the numbers turning out to be the valenzetti equation would be anti-climactic. So I think they tried to pull it back and add the IT guy saying he has been helping mittlewerk all alond and rachel"true identity" being the new payoff. That beach recording seems to point to the new video we are compiling now. To go with my new turn theory we have the new clip saying that our operatives confirmed the figure is there, sorry I'm paraphrasing. That seems to debunk the autistic mathamatician stuff we learned earlier, So the organ harvesting and other stuff was probably all red herrings,but to what end. I think they are gonna make it like doc jensoen said and say hanso was orchestrating this whole thing and all the bad stuff about them was fake and the work they are doing is good work compared to the scandalous stuff we heard first.
Marcus: Thanks for encouraging my faith in nanotech as it relates to Lost. I don't see any other way for the healings on the island to have happened.
I haven't done much work yet on a nano article. But if you find something let me know. I think we need a general definition and some applications to different areas of science: biology, technology, electromagnetism,... you know the areas that THF is working in. If I'm the one that puts it together it's going to be a long time coming though.

But it is weird that mark wickman can use his arm in the newer looking film(pearl). Which means he is either the fresher looking twin of marvin candle or he regenerated his arm i.e. the lizard from spiderman
plus there is the weirdness of the new washer dryer in the swan
or he is a clone, thats why he looks differant in the splice of the swan film
but the magnatism is a good explaination, because film is not erased by magnatism, but I think the limited scope and old appearance of the computer is tied

Adelphiadella - I feel the same way as you do on this subject of the game not being fun. But I do think that many of us regulars/long timers in the game are checking in all the time and when the game gets more exciting again you will see the longer posts return. People are being silent because there is not a lot to talk about.
I lurk as well and bop in from time to time. I beleive it will get fun again and I am in it for the long haul.
hey all... busy day at work today, so I haven't had much time to check in on the comments. Just wanted to ask if anyone knew if Lost is still gonna be on this week... I thought they were supposed to show an episode this week, but now the official abc site is announcing the episode airing on the 16th. I assume they normally list the next one coming up... are they pulling a fast one and skipping another week?
nitesea: I confirm that my TV listings say there is no Lost this Wed here. But on the 16th they'll be showing the episode Lockedown. Did they show the Whole Truth?
Is anyone else having issues getting on the new chat room? I was on earlier then my server went down, it is back up but I can't get past the Java loading screen...any suggestions?

I have a new theory about the numbers. The lostpedia page is locked for editing so I'll plug it here.
Last week I theorized that the numbers in the log printout in the Pearl Station represent the hours and minutes since a particular event in the 28th century BC, namely something to do with Fu Hsi, legendary ruler of China (traditional dates: 2852 BC-2738 BC). According to tradition Fu Hsi had the arrangement of the trigrams of the Yi Jing (I Ching, Book of Changes) revealed to him supernaturally. The trigrams, as we all know, form part of the Bagua which is used as the logo of the Dharma Initiative. The starting timestamp for the log could be, for example, the number of hours that have passed since the time the trigrams were revealed to Fu Hsi. Now, the number format on the printout is xxxxxxxx:yy (hrs:m) such as 41602066:29.
Ten figures, just like 4815162342.
What if we interpret the numbers as 48151623:42 and do the same calculations (divide by 24 hours, then divide by 365.2564 days)?
We get 5492.9 years. Substract 1970 years (start of Dharma Initiative) and we get a date of 3522BC. What happened at that time? Mythology - and to a certain degree science - hold that that is roughly the time of The Great Flood

I wrote "and perhaps even future" not in reference to the figures given but I mean IF (and that's a big if) my theory is right, perhaps the deGroots picked that figure to point at a past event because they anticipate Valenzetti's prediction to come true in the form of another great flood.
The figures as I interpreted them point further back into history the bigger they are. They don't point to the future.
uh oh, hold on, now I get you! You mean since 41602066:29 (one of the figures on the log) probably relates to 2004 (John and Mr. Eko only took a few pages which contained the date of the crash) then this could equally be some kind of countdown. Good thinking!
Ok, just did the maths. In that case the extinction would still be about 747 years away though. Maybe not. But good thought. Keep 'em comin'!
So I just went back and read DJ Dan transcripts that Matt the Pale posted on the research blog. His style seems to be short on substance and long on rhetoric. I'm not sure he'll ever give us real meat, but it would be interesting to ask
"What specific incident caused you to begin this campaign against the Hanso Foundation?" and a follow up "If it was Persephone's hacks, how do you know she is/was credible?"

Lena: Actually I only read enough to get the sense of things and to konw that it's not obvious if he's in game or out. If he's not in game, then MG may either be a pathologial liar, or a sadist who likes to play with our minds, or someone really addicted to alternate reality personas.

So would anyone else think that a better idea would be to release all 70 clips, or any number really, and put the glyphs on the insides of Sprite caps? That way we could all be searching for glyphs and Obey Our Thirst's at the same time....

In game wise he is just a presenter and an explanation of where the film came from sorta kinda LOL. Did that make ANY sence?????? LOL
HERE IS AN IMPORTANT FACT TO ME:
The reason this film did not show up in a in-game website is, if it was stuck in MG's celler for years, WHY WOULD the ingame bad guys or good guys even have it?? See what I mean?
I have been saying the hoffit film is real for a long time. TPTB saying it is fake just goes with this new act of the game where we don't know what is real. I think it is interesting that some of the same shots from the hanso website orentation seem to be from that stock film about light. Lena what do u think of the goblet film???it has that back story that it came in a dharma envelopeor hanso very simular to the cheesy story of finding it in the widow hoffits basement
I have a feeling that TLE is going to end open ended where we think there really is a coverup. Hanso is definetly based on albert nobel,remeber the speech about dynamite from season 1..

And the videos are more than just interesting. If they are in game they show us how THF was thinking and what lines of research they were exploring. It gives us more informed fodder for our theories. I didn't examine the videos in detail yet, but I'm sure there will be clues along those lines, IF it is in game.
I also think gary troup is still alive on the island or never existed. His name is an anagram for purgatory, that is just to convient for reality or the show. The exec saying gary troup was definetly pulled into the engine in the pilot holds no whater, why would some exec know that,if the writers probably have not even decided yet, because they want us to think that,the answer lies in why they want us to think that

the reason I always bring up the goblet film is most of the others fakes are a combination of old stock clips put together with some new edititng tricks, the goblet film is all original material, with an actor that does a darn good job of matching the tone and background of the lost tv orentation films

I have chosen not to search for glyphs at all this week, in protest of the general pace and purpose of this act of the game. The whole point of this glyph hunt is to "train" us to surf around all these official show websites and, of course, to their advertisers.
I am confident that other people will find glyphs and report them, but I am equally sure that I don't want to blindly follow along the course "they" have set for us.
hurray... another frag on the wild... and you know what's better? now you have to search every single word on every single sponsor ad... In fact, after that "nanite" stuff, what's the point of searching for glyphs anymore?

Hello everyone! This is my first post but I must confess that I have been a long time lurker in the posts. I didn't really get the guts to post until now. I lately had been watching the clips that I have compiled and noticed something strange about the one where the guy is writing on the chalkboard. He writes a 4 and then he starts to write an 8(watch close 'cause you can only see it for a second). The glyph hunt seems to have slowed... I wish we had more to work with.
TPTB were foiled again!
Just a thought and let me know if this has been discussed, but has anyone downloaded the DJ Dan video and looked at it frame by frame in close up. There are a bunch of small octagons at the bottom, and some I can not tell what they are.

I think a few others caught the same thing you did, it's good to get your confirmation that he's writing the "numbers". I think you're on to something watching the fragments as they come together, little things may come up that will help us with the big picture.
Did anyone see the Madacorp commercial during Kyle XY? It looks like ABC is trying the "experience" out on another show. They even have a mystery hacker. Fingers crossed they skip the glyph phase.

Sorry if this was already mentioned but did anyone checked to see if there were any new glyphs released? Probably not.. . knowing how this game has been going lately. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who caught the numbers in the video. I really hope this doesn't mean they are the Valenzetti equation (or part of it anyway).

You'd think with 40ish glyphs to come out, one little magazine delay wouldn't gum up the works. I can't imagine that every other fragment would depend on that one (unless it's the mysterious elusive completion to "I'm...."

fasten, I was thinking it would be a problem if the order of the release of the glyphs was fixed at the beginning of this Act so TPTB could be largely hands off during this phase. Therefore if this is glyph #29, then they may have to leave a hole and go on or pause until this glyph is found.
I see your point Twinkle. I was thinking that they had the glyph release in "handfuls" rather than individuals one at a time.
I will cling to the glass being half full...one release today means that many more releases tomorrow! Right? Yeah?

I have heard talk of people leaving the game and I would have to say that I am in full agreement with Adelphiadella.
I have not left but I am in lurk mode. I dropped off of here simply because the MB is by far an easier way to follow what is going on without having to follow the inane content. (like 30 people saying what position they are instead of adding something to the comments...YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE...and asking things like is subLYMONal new or not) I also tend to come here less because there aren't any clues here... simple yes?... Once there is a clue/code/glyph out there if it is found before I find it myself it gets put right up there in the front, so why bother to read all the inane content when what everyone needs is right there.
I also want to answer @costa's question if it hasn't been answered yet.
The Frachel Blake site hack you were reffering to was the one with the Cape Town Inquisitor... she placed pics up that were not the pics that were there in the previous hack of THF, that she put there herself.
And of course yes, there is a rather large lack of things to talk about when all you can do is search for something that may not even be in your country...or hemispere. I am a little sad that there have been so many glyphs in the Australian area, but none on our side of the globe. It is rather disconserting (sp) that the game isn't being played in the same manner around the world, and that these stupid glyphs keep turning up in places that no one should be looking because the instructions on how to find them say nothing about POP culture crap magazines for little old ladies and people with no lives like People Magazine. I do not, myself, support any magazine or news show that allows paparazzi to prey upon the personal lives of people that normally just want to be left alone, and now since I have been collecting the hard copy stuff out there from this game... i.e. the Times Hanso Bad twin ads, and now I have to hunt down a People Magazine that as far as I can tell isn't even available yet. Or at least no one here in New York has an issue yet except for the August 7th issue which is not the one where the code was found. I mean I work part time for a library that subscribes to the mag and they don't have it yet so how are other people getting these things so early. It all seems like a waste of time for me to search all these damn site's just to find out that the glyph was on a street pole in the land of OZ. [/end rant]
Well, I agree with dropping off the map/lurking. I'm doing it until this whole fragment thing is over. I myself think that they are:
1. Making something really big, and need the extra time to do so.
2. Taking a break from making the game, and just giving us glyphs.

I wish I could make it so you could see the profile without having an account, but myspace is retarded...I might fix this problem later.
