Clue #105 - Fragment Code "A0Y8"

Fragment Code "A0Y8" was found today in NYC's Times Square on the ABC bigscreen. Click HERE for a YouTube video of what was displayed. It was our very own marcus_isn't_lost ;-) who saw the glyph LIVE and emailed in to us and then went back to capture it. Head over to hansoexposed.com and enter the new code. The video fragment is of Mr. Beardy saying "...founders and masterminds of the Dharma Iniative. By now, you also know there are many research goals for our joint venture."

*Check out Matt the Pale's summary of all the found fragment codes at...Matt the Pale's HansoExposed Video Fragment Code List

Thank you to Marcus for seeing the glyph and contacting us, tapdawg for the transcript and Chris, Marcus, and Dedjezter for roaming around in Times Square all day...Awesome team effort today by everyone in our comments and those live in Times Square!

I hope as a reward for Marcus that Rachel walks up to him and points to the big screen just when the glyph appears, then hands him a pen and a piece of paper so he can write it down. Also, she gives him a lymony Sprite. And a free month of Verizon.

Fasten?

How did you know... at first I thought it was an angel in the glow of Times Sq., but it was Rachel Blake...

And as she urged me to continue my quest as it was nearly at hand
Go forth young man and let's take a stand

So I jotted the characters and attempted the glyph
though not more important than this sexy li'l nymph
I mustered my strength and typed in with pride
this was mostly the end of my day's long ride

The glyph looked like 2 of those simple party horns...

The one on the left point up and the one on the right pointing down, but there was a second shape like the end of the horn 1/3 up with a giant "period" at the bottom of that right horn and a line going straight through both in the middle... how do I draw it... I try to scan a horrible drawing and upload it

then

the picture of a blank glyph box, the glyph and long pause...

then the letters A0Y8

it refreshed and popped out again and then the black screen again with the web address

That was all... it was over

Then about 10 minutes later while i was packing up my stuff it did the same thing again

If I hadn't been pointed toward the rehearsal recording I would have done the exact same thing that I did today only I wouldn't have gotten there THAT early!!!

There would have been no reason to be in Times Sq. if they hadn't released more codes (I didn't think this was going to be #29, but I could've been wrong, too!!)

I spent most of the day with another guy from ITE by the name of Oroku Saki and he was going to take the picture, but there was a point that it was getting ridiculous and the only reason I stayed was my tenacity and it was less than a 5 minute (~5 city blocks) walk home

At just the minute that the code came up my phone software on my computer which was acting as my modem froze. It still thought it was online from my previous session. I had to make two calls to free up the phone and restart the 'puter while I had less than 5% power on an OLD battery which meant much less that 5 minutes!!

Just as I commented the code, then sent DAvid an email, my computer SHUTDOWN! no power and then my phone went into Low Battery.

If it had come up later, I wouldn't have been able to enter it til I got home, but if I'd left...

No one else was there!! Phew, persistence & tenacity with a smattering of geek ;-) That must be me.

Jamie wansn't there... I was playing with Fasten...

I don't think I used jumbotron as it was on ABC's gigantic screen above Good Morning America as I stated from the moment it came up on the live podcast... I was in the TLEC chat room and have not wavered as to my opinion as I know Times Sq like the back of my hand and there wasn't anywhere else it could be, advertisement wise.

Don't forget the DJDan ad was on ABC-TV and this is their baby!!

Only being pointed to the rehearsal of the podcast was I convinced to get there earlier in the day...

We discussed a lot of the game, theories & possibilities as well as places / advertising for posting glyphs, but we were still both steadfast to it being on the big screen.

We looked at ads, billboards, buses a celebration next to us that had a guy on a megaphone who started yelling *garble* J DA *garble* sounded like it could be about DJDAN and it turned out to be VJ Day. A USO promotion.

I believed the Apollo site had glyph 29, as well, Tapdawg. So much I spent hours clicking on every last damn star on the front page, and onward. Nothing, nada. I even checked the Jeep site concerning the FC-150 featured on the site. You'd think the glyph would be in that vehicle's "historic ad" area, right? Nope, nothing there, not even a "historic ad" as promised!

The "Speaker" look is going to be very popular as more and more TLE glyph hunters rip out their hair over the absent #29...

If you can, youtube it. If that doesn't work, Megaupload it, it doesn't have to be in any particular file format and you don't have to register. Then someone else can deal with uploading it to a user-friendly site.

Dr. SpongeChrisShep,

I must say I was amused (whenever I checked into the web) to have the image of your searches, but could not for the LIFE of me figure out what you were talking about in respect to a subLYMONal bus. Jamal & I were on the lookout all day, but never saw any other bus that the blue or red tourist buses, MTA buses and a NY Correctional bus, so which one did you manage to get on ;-)

Great continual effort... I know everyone here & abroad appreciated being passed on about your exploits. Much better than I could've done even with a handheld or something...

I'm dead tired... will check in tomorrow and then be gone all day wednesday, but will be back more focused than I can be now, later in the week.

After reading through the last thread, and reading that you were on the island in a folding beach chair, I realize that I actually did walk right passed you three or four times. I guess it's easy to stand out in a crowd of like ten thousand people a minute... lol ...I really just walked around all day out of a sheer lack of anything better to do...

Well I guess I will see you on the 6th then. At least for the Apollo give away there is a set time. 12 - 6 baby, and I will wear the same shirt again for that event.

Locke turns into Dhalsim from Street Fighter. Dhalsim says "Namaste" before each fight and has a "Namaste" special move.

Maybe Jack and Sawyer become Ryu and Ken, while Chun Li - Sun, Hurley - E. Honday, Michael - Dee Jay, Jin - Fei Long, Sayid - Akuma, and Eko takes a turn for the worse, becoming BLANKA!

Experimental alternative sequence editor/player

Advantages: makes all fragments it knows about available (and periodically checks for new ones that other people have told it about), easy to insert fragments in middle of sequence, can send your sequence to someone and they can do further edits on it, player lets you jump to a particular fragment in your sequence, no more "undefined" errors, missing fragments, etc.

Disadvantages: sequence editor doesn't work in Internet Explorer (any other browser should be OK - tested in Firefox, Opera, etc - and you can still view sequences in IE), no direct way of saving your sequence (it's in the URL - when you're happy, just bookmark it, or better still, use a Firefox extension like SessionSaver, which should magically restore your sequence when you re-open Firefox), experimental, sequence viewer doesn't preload fragments (may be jerky on first viewing, especially on slow connections).

Todo: add a way of moving several fragments at once (should be fairly easy, fingers crossed).
