By the way, I'm betting there are glyphs in the free Apollo bars they plan to pass out next month.

God, I hope this glyph thing doesn't take another month to resolve itself.

do you think they will drag the game into the first 5 epi's of season 3? I beleive they are scheduled to premier on Sept. 29th which is a little over a month away.

I thought the idea behind TLE was to give us something to follow over the summer and keep us interested in LOST during the lag. But based on how slow the frags are coming (2 - 4 a week) this could take several weeks to finish.

From one of the clips it appears there will be static over the critical part of the tape. I think all we will get out of this is that Dr M is addressing his minions to go out and stick to their story. At best it just points out that THF is up to something - good or bad we don't really know yet.

Apparently DHARMA was put together to solve the world's problems through science. That's a recipe for disaster if there is no moral philosophy behind it.

Some "scientists" believe the only way to "save" the world is to eliminate human life on the planet. I wonder if this ship is their own twisted version of an Ark - filled with their genetically selected, and controlled, population of neo-humanoids...did they actually say the rooms on the ship were meant for people? Save Joop could have some dark, alternate meaning.

"Damn them! Damn them all to hell!"

I haven't thought about that before, but that's interesting.

Since they are only going to show 6 new episodes before another break, why not continue the game through the episodes, and into the next break? That will give us somthing to do until it restarts in ... when does it start up again?

Lol, I just read the new code in the last comments and we were already on 35 here. Seems post numbers are back up again since the live DJDan show. I guess they needed the boost in the middle.

The segments are slowly starting to get more interesting. I'm getting the impression the real twists as far as the ARG go will be in the Mittlewerk stuff and not in the orientation video as we seem to be completing the video first. Although a starting frame of one of the orientation framents hinted at perhaps a breakdown of the different stations on the island and that would be a huge bit of show juice (more so then simply knowing why the created Dharma, although that is cool in itself).

Current Order

I'm not convinced the Orientation video is at the start with all the MW stuff after, I actually think it will be in the middle of it. But with so few MW pieces I've not tried to guess where yet.

Belly, yeah locations of the fragment codes have started to hot up a bit along with the content.

I suppose once again it's just bad design. Of course they couldn't give exciting stuff first and of course they had to be more creative with the more important pieces. So that means to begin with you have the less interesting pieces given out in less interesting ways. I'll keep my fingers crossed it keeps it's current momentum (which isn't the streamroller of Act 1, but at least it's moving forwards).

And for the rest of you: Hello! I'm having warm fuzzy feelings about you all and the comraderie we got going on that or it could be nap time. ;-)

And about Hanso's bettering humanity, he may have started out with good intentions, but his premise was wrong. He assumed he could decide what was *better* for all of humanity. That's like making yourself out to be God. No matter how benevolent he is, Alvar just doesn't have what it takes to do that. Maybe we need to sit TVM and Hanso down and show them Bruce Almighty?

Shakey - Yeah, whatever it turns out to be that DAVE has done (I'm refering to Mittlewerk as Dave for the day), it will be interesting to see how it fits in with the apparently good meaning Dharma set up.

The only things I can think of is that it's either a case that the only way to ensure survival of the human race is to firstly create your own little Utopian community and then wipe out the rest of the world (through poisoned choclate bars?) or that they aren't actually trying to create a community, but doing experients on how they can alter humanity to tackle the threats mentioned by Alvar in the video. We've seen mind control, genetic alteration, suggestions on nanotechnology, some kind of poisoning. It all adds up to an attempt to pacify the whole of humanity. Reduce our aggression levels, make us easy to control, but also make us immune to diseas and cause most people to be infertile to avoid over-population. Treating humanity as cattle for the sake of survival.

Actually I'm swining towards the later idea now.

As for the Orientation in the middle thing. Part of my reasoning is the amount of movement Rachel(?) makes. It would fit in if she was swining her view over to where the orientation screen was and then back to mittlewerk. Otherwise she would just seem to be swining the camera around a lot for no real reason. Plus there are a few bits of Daves speech that it would seem logical to have after the video (unless he's just showing it for kicks...which I wouldn't entirely rule out, it's probably like the company song on that boat). But at the same time, I doubt it would start with the orientation.

Jpike - yeah, in this instance I believe our memory and that of whomever wrote that on Lostpedia was correct. The Comicon podcast is long that's why I went to Lostpedia instead (no transcript there, I guess they thought it was long too) and I checked because I heard it wrong. I'm fairly sure I didn't now. Lostpedia is still not the best source to rely on to learn new stuff (like when it had Lockes dad on the board of directors at Widmore for apparently, no reason whatsoever and I started basing huge long theories around it. Grrr.) but it's a reasonable place to doublecheck stuff you already know.

I think they should have overlapped Acts. Like overlapping Act II with Act III and Act III with Act IV. The glyphs, while pretty cool, have slowed down the momentum built up during Acts I and II. Another month of glyph hunting will be tedious.

So, what if an Apollo bar has the WheresAlvar.com molded into it, and a Golden Ticket-like glyph (the last ones)? That would tie Act III and Act IV together nicely.

Twenty years from now someone will be trying to cash in their unopened Apollo bars.

I would also not assume that TLE ends when the new season begins. I think it could end at Episode 6 - when we receive a good cliffhanger to keep us engaged or guessing until January/February 2007. I believe they've said that we'll know who "Him" is during episode one of season 3. Could that be Alvar or someone else?

One interesting point to the Sri Lanka video is that the team of scientists are provided with survival training. That's from a video shot in 1975, when the island was set up with all of the cushy living quarters. Other than your basic island orientation - don't eat that, don't touch that, etc. - what does a group of scientists who are continually supplied with all manner of luxury items need with survival training? It doesn't sound like DHARMA is the benevolent organization that we are being led to believe.

Thanks. It was in the last clue, that's why I didn't see it.

Same here. I put ten people from here, but I wasn't sure if they posted there also or not. I'll leave that to Speaker to figure it out ;)

Sorry I didn't put a lot of folks here in the top 10. I'm not sure if it's turned into a popularity contest (probably has_, but I didn't see it as that to begin with (and I don't think that is what Speaker intended). I put in people I didn't know much (or anything) about but am curious. So those that I've chatted to a lot, or just followed their ramblings a lot here I pretty much ignore. Mostly because I post over at ITE now and then, but not enough to really know people, I just put people from over there. I actually would have changed it slightly after posting it, but wouldn't want to offend the people who's names I would take off. Lol.

Of course realistically we know who will most likely "win", and that's not terrible exciting in itself. Maybe if Speaks repeats the excesive it would be more interesting.

Actually what has been interesting has been the way people have been voting. Okay, not the obvious votes, Willow, Wolfe and co, but the fringe votes. What would be really interesting to me though, would be to see a top 10 accompanies by some kind of justification and then the profiles can be made up of other posters impressions of that person. That would be cool (and because it's a top 10 you would only get the postive side so no space for tears).

Okay I can't type, messed up the word verification (little known fact - I do that a lot). But I can add an additional. I'm all for supporting people from here over there, although I've already posted a top 10. I could always just log on under an alias. I mean frag it, if it's going to be a popularity contest let's show the love. :) However I really don't think there are prizes involved except an ego boost for the winners.

hello all, I have a silly question. Where is our heroine during all of this glyph hunting? Is she hiding out somewhere or still hot on the trail of the evil doers? If she discovered this video weeks ago what is she working on.

Just a random thought as I wait for the day to end.

Fenris, I was just thinking this morning about how we are getting so many sizeable sections of the Orientation video together that there are few secrets left in it (except, as you said, the other stations that we know little or nothing abut), and that the real juice will be in the Mittelwerk bits. I hope they aren't just putting these out in a random order, that they are deliberately keeping some key fragments till the end.

Not sure if anyone read and remembers by theory on the glyphs, but I think they are given to the various sponsors, involved parties and the odd trusted outsider (eg TLEC) and these then get to decide how they will get the glyph out there. So I think the change in tactics has nothing to do with TPTB but more to do with those the next rungs down on the ladder responding to fan disharmony. Everything from TPTB end seems to be set in stone.

Still hoping for an Aussie Apollo handout...

Sorry had to change that to Lavenda

Thrasher: Sorry. My line of thought is often not even obvious to my husband.

TLEC got a glyph. Speaker, Ninja, and The Other girl got glpyhs. TLEC did a better job than they did as dispersing them. The other day I was all "David/Admin for The Powers That Be!" but if as Lavenda suggested the fault lies with the distributers rather than TPTB, then you all should take their jobs! How's that for kiling a joke! ;-) Of course, you got the girl because of the non-photographic proof of you in a dress.

I think the final fragment will almost certainly be the "woah!" fragment. I just hope it's a nice long one and not a single word. I was actually really worried the "Alvar Hanso" fragment would be the last one.

noiq and twinkle, if you're still here... just been catching up....

I just got puzzle #3 about the numbers, and I'm putting it together now. I'll post pictures on my blog as soon as I am done!

I did puzzle #2 (the hatch), and there are lots of pictures on my blog now. The image on the back was of the top right hand corner of the blast door map, primarily featuring the arrow station. There was also a long string of numbers - I've never actually written it down, but I will tonight and post it on my blog tomorrow.

Tapdawg did puzzle #1 (The others) and I believe he said that the image on the back of that one was the lower lefthand corner of the blast door map. I have that one as well, but I haven't put it together yet - that's next!

I couldn't get any good photos of the back of my puzzle, but I'll try to find my notes and post what all it said on my blog. Most of it appears on the pictures of the blast door (Thrasher's got a great one), but there were some notes that didn't appear to be on his version.

Thrasher: Nooo problem!

Thinking about finishing the glyphs seems tedious to me. Even if we have all but 5 or 2 or 1 we're likely going to have guessed what the video will reveal. So, crazy theory time, what if THF does manage to shut is down before we have to get all the way to the end?

Print something only visible under black light? I'm not sure they can.

the Hanso site has changed slightly, though that was a while ago. Where it used to flash "orientation testing issue 1980" after 108 seconds, it now flashes "orientation testing version 1980". It flashes much faster and now the sound does not go away if you move your mouse over the page after 108 seconds. There is also a chime that sounds when the thing is flashed but I can't remember whether that is new or not.

ROT password is related back to an email from Manny that mentioned a film (that was also a book IIRC) called "the Pearl", the writer was Steinbeck... I think the only significance of that was the Pearl reference, but hey, I have been wrong before ;)

There are also those (what, only two so far?) non-English speaking Lost tv sites that have had glyphs.

I agree with others that the timing coincides with the launch of the Apollo site, but given that it has now been out there for that long and people have been all over it, including pulling the flash apart, and it hasn't been found, I think we would have been given a hint or something by now. I suspect it is somewhere out of the hands of TPTB hence they have not aided its discovery.

That said, if we are now going to be aided by Speaker... I hope he just hints and doesn't just post the glyph in plain sight on his blog

Lena, great pic of Thrasher! Though I am a little concerned he has been the subject of a Hanso head transplantation ;)

Also, there was the Hnaso reference in the Nickelodeon Kids' mag. I spent Sunday at Paramount's King's Island, which has every Nick 'carroter' (as my niece kept saying). Sadly, no clues. Although we did have a power outage and people got stuck on rides ack!

Hey, does anyone know how to look at the little icon next to the hansoexposed.com in the url field?

I am curious what it is but can't figure out how to make it bigger.

Sorry if this has already been asked.

Never fails...by the time I get in here, everybody's gone. Sometimes being on the west coast stinks- where's pharmacopaeia when I need her? I didn't make Twinkle's top ten ladies list (which is ok), but hopefully I can be included in TLEC girls club- especially if there's ever an online girls night out or something. LOL

I poured through the rest of that Nick mag at the Dr.'s yesterday, and there didn't seem to be anything else HF related.

A lot of the filming takes place in O`ahu. If you're actually looking for it, I can give you more information, but that's where they mainly film.

Benito- that would be great...even if I knew a website to check would be fine. We're going to Hawaii in a couple of months (just bought the airline tickets- yeah!) and I wanted to know in case I wanted to check it out- if that's possible.

Off to the grocery store...boy I lead an exciting life!

As a side note to what belly and the rest of you said... there was also the Newspapers that had the hanso BADTWIN adds, I have been checking the NY times everyday and never found a glyph or an ad for any of the sponsors.

What was the date of the release again, since I P-T in a library I can go back and check those days newspapers for a glyph or something...

P.S. I look forward to meeting anyone who goes to the Apollo bar giveaway on September 6th...

dedj, http://www.se-nse.net/ixalon/codes.php lists it as Aug 7th. I'd say that is pretty accurate because I initially did a search on the blog front page and got the Apollo site going live on the 8th (and when it did everyone thought 29 was there). Though ixalon's site lists it as 40 because it hasn't been found yet (and that site doesn't seem to like mixing it's found and non-found fragments)

Thanx Lav,

I really should have known that since I updated it on the MB last week, and could have easily just looked it up there, but the thought came to me in here so... I will check the 6,7, and 8th Times tomorrow... wish me luck... lol

Morning all,
didn't have much time yesterday and just scanned all the posts. Doubt I'll make it onto any of the lists [sigh], always seem to go off on the weirdest tangents LOL but just wanted to let you know that I'm firmly rooted in the girlie camp!

re whereisalvar.com - I'm fairly certain on that because it seems to me that that is what's written on the Apollo Candy bar. Also, try accessing whereishanso.com and you get a URL not found whereas whereisalvar.com gets you to that registration site.

@Belly: you are a gem! Great analysis.
@MattThePale (BTW are you pale or from Dublin?) -nice job with those avi files. Good on you.

re Apollo Candy: Just learned how to do this flash file decompilation and decompiled some of the .swf files from that site yesterday and found all sorts of little bits hidden in the file appollo_TheBeginning.swf
For those who have a decompiler check Shapes 8-56, Sprite 11 ('ib'), 13 ('face'), 16 ('ob'), 18 ('il'), 94 etc.
Just like the as yet non-visible "UK Distribution" button this will have to come into play at some stage.

Ta for now.

oh forgot:
The Verizon Chocolate phone shows "Wed Aug 16 12:45" on one of the displays (I think someone already pointed that out - just a reminder as it is today)
see here check Sleek Form - Click here to take a close look.

and another site for the choc phone has a number on the display: 0285-1181
see here (3rd thumbnail)
I'm not familiar with US# so I don't know if that means anything.

oodles, yay for wierdest tangents! :-D

I also checked the sites (ISP's) associated with thehansofoundation and there aren't any new ones... I know ages ago there were others mentioned and I can't remember them now. I checked whereisalvar.com but there was a smegload come up, and this isn't really my forte... maybe I should actually go back and check the last few days blog comments because I too have a feeling Admin said something about a site they had snapped up on the off-chance it would be handy...

morning all...
oodles, that phone stuff is interesting... wonder if people with Verizon should be trying to text msg? Didn't someone say they sent a text to a number the other day for some reason? Sorry for the vagueness, but I just remember it being mentioned and then no follow-up I don't think... anyone else remember that?

Good morning! I'm interested in the Verizon site too with the chocolate phone. I wonder if it will lead to anything. I examined the ad in my EW yesterday, but nothing interesting there... then I noticed that EW has an ad in their magazine for InStyle magazine with Evangaline (spelling?) on the front cover so I pulled out my copy of that magazine. Page by page I went through, but nothing...

Wish I could be more help. :(

I see the front page of abc has a mobile store with a quite a few Lost wallpapers for your phone. I have to admit that I was hoping there would be a glyph wallpaper in the list... oh well.
