I don't think that they are form the show now that I look at them again...true that Lost is fiction with truth sprinkled in...but there is no way an iceburg could support the structures they have "built" into it...some of the others look like real photos of real world things...the skeleton hand is super fake looking, like somethign you might see at an amusement park or at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas....

TLE could just explain what happens to the island at the end of the show. What's it going to be? Seven seasons?
The show's timeline is in the past. THF efforts and Rachel Blake are in the present.
I'm also wondering whether TWM knows that the island is still active. The big ship arriving at the island could be the final episode of the final season.

Don't know what to say about the pics, except to question whether they're real or not. If they are, then the production costs must have really escalated on the show.

If you look carefully at the fragments, the TV set up to show the orientation video is at the back of the room and pointed away from TWM's audience. That struck me as very odd. It's as if RB is hiding behind boxes watching an orientation video while everyone else in the room seems oblivious.

interesting theory erich. my thinking is that by "hitting genetic targets" twm meant either producing genes matching a preset goal or targeting specific genes for something. i.e. their vaccine, disease, whatever won't work unless it reacts with the proper gene.

Interesting clip today. Back to the DAVE stuff too. Precise Genetic targets. Hmmm. So that could go a couple of ways (at least). Either a target in redifining the human genetic code or they are targeting an already existing genetic code, either for enhancement or destruction. If it's enhancement, this is starting to sound a bit like the 4400. Although I like that show (after a fairly shakey first season it really bloomed into something worth watching) so I'm not too worried. These theories also kind of fit into the idea that they are tampering with worldwide DNA to create human cattle that will never find themself in the situations in which Valencetti saw the destruction of humanity (of course that would essentially be the destruction of humanity anyway, but nevermind, perhaps Dave just overlooked that).

We were talking about the puzzles yesterday, and I said that I would go home and copy down the code from the back of #2 and post them on my blog - so I did! What can I say, I'm a woman of her word. :)
I'm about halfway through puzzle #3 right now. I'm hoping to have it finished before I leave on vacation this weekend, so that I can get pictures up from that one as well.
I don't work with film and I understand they may have better equipment, (my technique is going into the middle zoom and clicking on the frame really fast to see what the first frame is and matching it with the still, which is the last frame.) Do this for those three and tell me they don't match, and i will humbly apologize.

my favorite story of Apollo includes Pan and King Midas. Apollow played the lyre and Pan the flute, one day they had a contest to determine who played the best. They picked creatures and beings to represent everyone on the planet to judge it. King Midas (yes the one with the golden touch) was to represent humanity. First Pan played his pipe and everyone thought it lovely. Then Apollo played his lyre and everyone agreed that while Pan's was haunting, Apollo's playing was ethereal and was the best of the two. Everyone except King Midas. Midas preferred Pan's. Apollos was insulted and said "you have the ears of an ass." As soon as he said this Midas' ears did turn into those of an ass. He had a special crown made in order to hide his ears and the only one that knew Midas's secret was his barber who was sworn to secrecy. HOwever the barber was dying to tell someone so he went to the reeds along the river and whispered "King Midas has the ears of an ass" and supposedly for years if you went to a certain river the reeds would sing "King Midas as the ears of an ass" whenever the wind would blow.
I love Apollo. He's such a jerk. :) He's the god of all kinds of good things, like music and medicine and prophecy, but he's a complete jerk most of the time.
Cassandra of Troy is my favorite character in mythology and I just love how he screwed her so completely. So vindictive! Although I guess most of the gods were.

In the Olympian telling [citation needed], the gods Hermes, Ares, Apollo and Hephaistos, had all wooed Persephone, but Demeter rejected all their gifts and hid her daughter away from the company of the gods.
I don't think persephone had any real connection with Apollo in Greek or Roman mythology. I think the connection with the name persephone for TLE is that she was queen of the underworld.

oxillini - Actually you could be onto something with the kittens. I mean Dave does all the goodie two shoes stuff, Vegan eating, curing cancer, looking after the future of mankind, leaving his hair to grow naturally into his enourmous mop. It wouldn't suprise me to find that it's all subterfuge and his real aim to is kill all kittens. Maybe he has an alergy or something. Come to think of it, maybe those strange little creatures that are always chasing after kittens (you know, the little square ones with the big mouth) are actually Daves minions.
But anyway, seems your idea is similar to mine only I was looking at genetic manipulation of mankind as a whole to avoid an apocalpyse rather then one to survive in the aftermath. Same dilema though, if you radically change the human genome has humanity really survived? Especially as I reckon there is some kind of pacification involved. A world of human cattle would be easy to rule over, ever by kitten hating wierdo's with enourmous pony tails. Of course if control really is his aim he probably would be better off just letting the world destroy itself. But if that is the case, why the choclate bars?

Just because there are going to be Orientation clips on the DVD, DOESN'T necessarily mean that the "Glyph" clip will be on there. Even if it is on there, probably only the "film" part will be there, but not the TWM part. That part wouldn't make sense to anyone not playing the game.
i think so too i think it's in the real world possibly the golden gate bridge because i was reading stuff at the apollo candy website and they said bar had landed in the "golden gate city" it's just a theory but it but it could happen

I spend all my "down time" looking for #29. I don't know where it is... and I was just talking to Speaker and he doesn't even know for sure if it's out there. If the glyph were in the hands of Speaker, Ninja or Other Girl, we would have been given at least an extra clue by now, which means we can count out all 3 of their blogs, along with the fuselage...
I know we can't count out physical locations, including magazines, but it seems to me that glyphs have been popping up on all the in-game sites so far... and, aside from the "hidden" glyph on the StopHanso site, it seems that there have only been 1 glyph on each site... so narrowing our possibilities down could be a start for finding it.

LYCGY - I've searched EVERYWHERE on this site to no avail... It hasn't been used for a while, but, according to an email we recently received, but must have somehow gotten deleted, it was referenced in a recent Daimler Chrysler ad in People magazine...

THF.org (the black and red one) - I keep checking this as well, but see no difference. Sit and listen to the noise that used to evenutally give us the orientation video, but it seems like now it just keeps starting over.
RoT - We have yet to receive a glyph from this site. We also have had no purpose from the "Return of the Prodigal Son" post from BBB. And that strange pic from "Comic Con" that he uploaded. I see no glyph in the image or anywhere on that site. And I'm looking forward to Canine Clairvoyance No. 2... I hope they don't leave us hangin' on it. Also, is there any reason for the "Steinbeck" reference. It seems to me like there is probably something we are missing from this site. They gave us what appeared to be a clue, but with no outcome, which seems strange to me... and they have yet to provide us with a glyph.
RBD - We haven't used this site for quite some time... parthenogenesis is still in the source for the page. The number on the billboard is irrelevant. The 9 word string that we waited so patiently for no longer lets me in with "rblake" and "allveggie", which I believe was the log on for that site. Not sure if that means anything or not.
Beatbox Mixer.com - referenced by BBB in his "Return of the Prodigal Son" post... it's either the most likely place for an undiscovered glyph to be hiding or RoT no longer serves a purpose in the game and they are milking our interest for advertising purposes. I've searched all over this site, but haven't found anything.
Hanso Careers - hasn't changed in quite some time... I see no place for a glyph to be hiding, but I check every job posting regularly for the ever-so-elusive #29.
Monster.com - It's monster.com... it's huge and searching it would take forever. Rachel's Copenhagen Post 1 was leaked through the celebrity career advice videos. I've searched this site, but it's so big that it's impossible to really know where to go. I don't see any obvious clues on the site (game-related words/names) and there's nothing strange in any of the page's source codes.
Entertainment Weekley's website - hasn't been "officially" in-game, but Jeff "Doc" Jensen's had an interview with Rachel and clues have been in the EW magazine... so it's a possibility, but again, the site is huge and impossible to search through without a lead as to what direction to follow.
Hole 2,Hole 3 and Hole 4 - I keep checking them in case they change into a glyph... hasn't happened yet, but maybe it will... :/ no #29, tho. They do bring back memories... also I've tried Hole5 and other random things to no avail.
Old Hanso Site - It wasn't officially put out as a way to access the old site, but I thought that they may have found out that we were using it and may have burried a glyph somewhere inside. Sadly, I've checked every clue and haven't found anything different from the way they were before THF went "down".
UdonPaul331's blog - highly unlikely, but the student from Benoffsky's "home town"... hey... it's possible...
Gidget Girl's Vik Article Blog - again, highly unlikely... but maybe?
Amazon.com - another huge site... Gary Troup vids (another elusive clue) have been found on the site, which, to me, means it could be considered in-game and could be the source of clues in the future, but how do you search through such a huge site... I don't think it's there...
On all of these I continue to check the source code everytime I go to the site, and I've been running an awful lot through the Base64 decoder (thanks to RoT), but still nothing...
I am Saying: I just poured over a weeks worth of the New York Times, from the 4th to th 10th and came up with ZILCH. If it was in there it magically disapeared. Any other suggestions of where to look. I am going to try the other New York newspapers, but I doubt they will be there + we havn't gotten a new EW in 2 weeks, the subscription might be dead, arrrgggggghhhhhhhh!!
The only thing in all those NY Times papers was a verizon ad for there new phone, not the chocolate one but the
LGVX5200, but that can't be it.

i think that 29th glyph note came from a troll on ITE.

I just find it odd that there is no one in SF that is playing along in this game that would not have noticed a glyph any where near the GGB.... too many people visit that bridge every day. I would think at least one or two could be lost fans..... maybe....

I believe there IS a version of the Greek Mythos in which Apollo kills Helios (expert archer that he was) and takes over the Sun chariot. As I recall, his sister Artemis also usurped the role of one of the earlier generation of deities, but I can't remember the details at the moment.

Wow, have we come full circle from Phase One? People were decompiling crap like there was no tomorrow. People were turning images into sounds, for the love of God! Last month, people were complaining that this phase wasn't complex enough! Well, those with the technical ability have been handed a big fat Flash file. How has it not been decompiled yet? Has it struck anyone else as noteworthy that there is an expiration date and SKU clearly displayed on the Apollo Candy site?
I grant you, I'm something of an armchair quarterback here (or maybe officechair ARGer), so I'm suggesting work for other people to do, but it's the best I can do.
And I'd be really surprised if the free candy bars didn't have some kind of "golden ticket" with glyphs on them.

1. When you load up the "Return of the Prodigal Son" thread, you get the new "DSL is on the C-A-S-E" thread.
2. At the end of the thread, it says "Mittlework"--could this be part of getting to the 'bottom' of this?
3. The Beatbox Mixer--this is a real site, but I haven't found anything on it (I believe a flash decompilation is needed for this).
4. There are a couple religious references in the thread--prodigal son, excommunication

I did decompile the apollocandy site (see posts under earlier clues). There is some hidden stuff there. Dennis pointed out the UK Distribution logo and there are hidden bits in the TheBeginning swf file. Looks to me like this is going to be activated later - there are buttons, shadows and script references to a clip of sorts. But no glyph as far as I can see. I know nothing about programming so all the scripts are like Chinese to me. Perhaps someone else can take a look too.

re 29... I was going to check into this, but now that I am home there is so much happening! Last week Speaker said something about two glyphs or mags to keep an eye on at least... but then there seemed to be a stuff up... EW missed a week didn't it? Maybe 29 will be in the next EW? That maybe why TPTB haven't given a hint to it... because they know it is still coming to a place it will be found easily by a lot of people. Speaker might have been playing with semantics when he said he didn't know where it was...

Okay I spent the evening scouring sites (mostly ROT) and trying things out to no avail on the 29th parralel. Sorry, Glyph. I'm off for the night.
But a few thoughts.
Seems this new article is almost certainly in regards to the new glyph just released and not the 29ths. It also seems likely it's in People because of the (mis)timing is about right for glyphs (As people was out 2 days ago). I'd look for the bottom of something to do with investigations or Columbo or something, or just some random add. *shrug*
As for the 29ths, I'm almost certain the previous ROT post was the link and we just didn't get it. Maybe the clue was in that spelling error. *doubleshrug*

Just to fill you guys in on the Pirates game that may hold the next glyph. Description is:
This is the latest release of pspirates with a fiew small but effective updates
which im sure you guys will all appreciate untill the next release. Our first update
would be the difficulty select which gives you the option out of an easy, medium
or hard game against the computer. Our second update would be modifications made by mex to
the credits section. Our final update to pspirates can be spotted whilst playing in-game, now
each time a cannon ball is fired a small flame can be spotted at the tip of each cannon
which provides a bit more detail to the game.
