Clue #109 - Fragment Code "VACCINE"
Fragment Code "VACCINE" was hinted at by BroadBandBeatnick on the Retrievers of Truth site (Use "Steinbeck" as your password). He said to "take a tour" and "listen for a change". If you visit www.richerdeeperbroader.com and "Take Tour", your first stop is "Experience Movies". If you click on the speaker in the front left, you'll hear the sound of a woman's voice saying "vaccine". Enter this new fragment code at Hanso Exposed for the newest fragment of the video! The video fragment is of Mr. Beardy saying, "Broadcasting in a frequency and encryption know only to us..."

Still wondering about the Verizon Ad with a glyph but no code (the assumption is that it ties into the "vaccine" code) and also the Jeep Ad that says "theflashlight". Also, Apollo Candy has changed/added some of their distribution locations & dates.

The latter was directed by Mel Stuart.
Maybe this is just an in-house joke by TPTB saying Mel Stuart made a better movie of Roald Dahl's book?
pilferk, I took about 10 people's translations and then took into consideration the Hackett memo and the history we have from Mel0Drama on Rachel's blog. Then I tried to create a scenario in my mind that would make sense and look at where different implications could be drawn from sign language...
I was just trying to make sense out of the literal translations.

Where was the Jeep ad originally published? I looked through my copy of People three times and didn't see it. Am I missing something?
Went over to richerdeeperbroader.com and cracked open the source code. There's an un-used java function called getAClue sitting towards the top of the page, and then down in the last chunk of code, their so-called 'websidestory' javascript, there is a long list of variables established at the very beginning, each of which is tagged with a comment explaining what it is used for, with the exception of the variable _vb, the value for which is the word 'parthenogenesis' and the comment simply contains an arrow pointing back to the word.
If you look very closely at the Jeep Ad in EW it does list LYCGY.com. It's almost illegible, but it's there!!!!

FWIW, I checked the Park Calendar and local ABC websites for events in Lexington, KY, but I didn't see anything on the same day. The only major event I saw is a UK vs Texas State football game going on the next day.
Too bad they couldn't make the date sooner. The KY State Fair is going on until 8/27.

I am not complaining...but I think Lexington is a odd choice - we don't usually get big events like this. However, we are only an hour from Lousiville and Cincinatti, so we could draw a lot of people. There must be a hot-bed of Consipispies living in the area.

Hello, long time fan first time poster. I just like to say that I am glad that Harrisburg was chosen. I live about 30 minutes away and I would have been too far to go to the other places. It's unfortunate that cities were dropped. If that was the case, why did they post them up in the first place. I may see some of you in Harrisburg.

Not sure if this has been covered but I believe that the new Apollo Candy bar give-away dates are additions to the original dates and that they have added more venues. I see no indication that they cancelled or superseded the original give-away dates and places. Just my opinion...

I updated Lostpedia with the new US distribution dates.
I noticed a few things...
1. There are several events that have the same date:
8/24 - New York, Seattle, Minneapolis
8/25 - Minneapolis, Washington DC, Indianapolis
8/29 - Santa Monica CA, Portland ME
This would probably mean that there are NOT going to be any special apperance by Rachel Blake, et al, since they would need to be in three places at the same time.
2. The new dates are listed in chronological order, but on of the Santa Monica dates is either out of order, of the date is wrong. Since the date is 9/5, but it is next to a 9/15 date, I would guess that the date should probably be 9/15 also.
Lavenda- I think oxillini means that Rachel says "[If you are] travelling in the real world- you won't find it." I think it could go either way, but now we know it is not in Australia (or at least Sydney where the other ones were).
I read it as godfather said in his first point:

The email subject was #29... and it was to Ninja... I think if she was talking about everyone (godfather point 2) she would have posted on her blog, somewhere more general for everyone to read first hand and interept it as talking to themselves.
benito, I think "travelling" is the hint to where in the real world... which I know can be random and not very specific... but if you think about what is happening in the game at the moment I know I think of Jeeps and the Apollo distributions.

so...as much as we all want 29, at least we know that somebody's tracked it down. so what about 42? are we anticipating that to be at one of the apollo candy events or what?

I'll tell you this. I wouldn't be THAT surprised if he did punch it in and is preparing now to release it in some form or fashion. When you have a glyph on your hands, it is certainly a temptation to see if it works! Don't ask me how I would know... :)

I've been baffled by this whole #29 thing and don't really know what to think of it. My best guess it that there was just some confusion or miscommunication. Rachel gave it to someone just as they were going on vacation or something. Or maybe Rachel gave it to someone and they decided to wait awhile to release it (against Rachel's wishes). Maybe Rachel just didn't want to give the same glyph out twice so she's maybe been prodding Jeff or whoever had it to release it but, for whatever reason, it's just taken awhile.
Who knows...I wish it made more sense. At this point, it's really frustrating that it's been found and we're in the dark!

MtP- some guy(?) was hanging out at the fuselage or one of the "other" boards and did that for the catseye glyph. People ranted on him so much, he just kinda disappeared...
This page pulls the codes from the stats and will also find new fragment codes that people have saved into sequences. The new code finder does have to be save sequence first.

The Lost Experience clues shows nothing for Aug 16. Aug 15 the ROT site was updated. The guys are talking about how the Mittelwerk movie got onto Braodbandstories. "Yeah there's that and the INVESTIGATION."
The Rachel Blake video that was on BBS for a while (where The Ultimate Journey is now), was a video blog report from reporting on her ongoing Hanso Foundation INVESTIGATION.
So perhaps some new video will be slotted in there soon.
hrm...so i've been staring at the jeep ad for the past five minutes and is it just me or is there some more really tiny text colored just slightly lighter than the pavement right after where it says DaimlerChrysler Corporation? i wish i had a copy of the darn thing, or just a bigger image file to look at. sorry if this is old news.
Has anyone gotten ANYTHING out of trevtrevtrevor on AIM? He has been on all day again, but I haven't bothered with him. Probably another Garthazoid huh.

I checked the "gear" portion of the Compass site, and there are a couple flashlights there. Nothing on the pages, though, and I tried the item codes in HE, and got nothing. Just updating the quest.

I have a theory. Maybe to activate a glyph the person who reveals it has to activate it themselves. If this is true, maybe Jeff Jensen activated his, and then completely forgot about it. Then, he went to activate it again, and the site though that he had found it, so his name went on the leaderboard. If the revealer does not have to activate it, then I'm as confused as you all are.
I don't see San Francisco on the Locations for Apollo Bars any more! And no one is complaining? Am I the only one from Northern California that was planning to go to SF?

We here in Chicago lost our date as well. I went next door to the ABC studios and held up an APOLLO sign during the news. (Well, during the first part... they made me take it down even if it's a part of their damn show).

Hey twinkle - VACCINE is actually number 44; 43 was 44ku2vkq [from Ninja's site, found near a sculpture in Sydney]. Last I heard, 29 was found but no one knows what it is yet [well, at least one person knows but they aren't sharing yet], and 42 was still MIA.

The UK "link" has been there since the US link appeared, but it has been hidden. You could always get to it by tabbing to it.
It won't load because the page it is pointing to is not there yet.
BTW, the link that is there in the code points to: http://www.apollocandy.com/apollo_UK.swf
It's strange that they have the UK link showing when they haven't uploaded the page yet. Just looks like a sloppy rush job. There are also a few typos in the new Distribution dates as well.

Seriously! THIS part of the game is the most hands-off NON-PERSONAL cold part. It's a good way to get more AVERAGE JOES into the game but it SUCKS for us who've been here since that first television commercial and the phone line. Or hell, even since the casting call went out for Rachel/Mittlewerk/Hanso.
Australia has gotten a few EXCELLENT REAL WORLD experiences: Giveaway of Bad Twin, glyphs posted. NY got the Times Square glyph and LA got the studio door glyph. But EVERYTHING happens in NY and EVERYTHING IS FILMED in LA. No big deal there. I'm in frickin' Chicago. I live DOWNTOWN in a MAJOR METROPOLITAN CITY. Things should be happening here! That's why I moved from Montana.
I want a frickin' glyph here and I want the frickin' APOLLO BAR giveaway to happen. I'm thisclose to calling the bar they WERE going to be giving them away from and asking them what happened. Hell, I stood in the rain with a goofy sign to try and get the giveaway back.
GIVE ME A REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE, TPTB. GIVE IT!
And I don't count Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston as something that's "GOING ON" here in Chicago.
I also stood in front of a JEEP ad looking for clues for 5 minutes. Got a lot of strange looks, trust me.
(this complaining is taking place out-of-game. haven't come up with a reason why it's necessary IN-GAME for them to come here and give me candy. besides me liking candy. I like candy)
Stacy... sorry.. I was away and missed your question... I'm in Modesto... Central Valley. So that makes 3 of use that were going to SF. Maybe that is why we were bumped for another SoCal location.
The whole chicago/san fran cancellation does suck. I wonder what happened. Just checking in and it really pisses me off 29 is being held right in front of our noses. Well, hang in their TLECers, we'll get it soon (hopefully)...Later
