Clue #110 - Fragment Code "ESJ4X6EBNC"
Fragment Code "ESJ4X6EBNC" was found by tapdawg (and others - see below) outside of the Entertainment Weeky building in Los Angeles, California on the side of a car. Lost Ninja gives mad props to tapdawg on his blog! Way to go!!! The video fragment is of Mr. Beardy's voice saying, "...all of the support you will need, including regular medicine and food drops will be made in perpetuity."

n.i.k.: my thinking on the drops is that alvar set them up (contracted them out to paik or widmore?) to go on indefinitely. this explains why they keep occurring even though dharma was supposedly shut down. this also keeps alive the possibility that thf beleive no one is on the island (at least in 2006 and probably as of 2004). i think this little tidbit is finally giving us more answers (or at least hinting at them.) very interesting stuff. as for the food and vaccine "shortage", the drops are for the number of peoople dharma had. it's very possible the number of people on the island now is greater than when it was just dharma scientists. do you think that tower supposed to be the transmitting station rousseau talks about?
anyone think the flashlight clue from the Jeep add might have something to do with the Jeep compass having a removeable flashlight in it? I have been poking around at Jeep.com and can't seem to find anything.
atlantanar, I was just about to mention Unseen and SamG. I mentioned tap before because I was in communication with him (and he had photos... again, see Ninja's blog :-P )... I know he said he was with the others earlier but when I was typing I didn't hear their names so missed mentioning them. But kudos to all for getting out there!

n.i.k.: my thinking on twm knowing about the drops is that he has to know. after all, he's seen this orientation film before. however, i'm not convinced he knows people are there. he assumes there will just be crates full of food piled up from drops that no one is using.
your ideas on conning the people on the helgus into eliminating the people on the island is interesting. it certainly fits the twists of the "lost" world, but my thinking is that he has the money and the power to just buy a paramilitary force whom he wouldn't have to con into offing the island residents. why risk your scientists, etc by making them fight islanders?
like i said, i'm just glad to have some theory stuff to diuscuss instead of just waiting for another glyph to be released.

re: the removable flashlight for the Jeep, that was an old clue. ONe of RB's videos' had been found when you clicked on the demo for the removable flashlight for that Jeep. Doubt a glyph will be found where a video had already previously been hidden.

n.i.k.: good points. i guess i assumed you meant twm intended to just gun down those on the island. i'll be very interested to find out what the deal is with the quarantined areas of the helgus. they don't necessarily mean twm has a virus with him, the people watching the video could be genetically modified in such a way that they have no immune system and thus must be protected. this is, of course, all speculative, but that's my favorite part of lost and this game!
So was doc given glyph 29 to hand out long ago and he didn't do it or was 29 supposed to come out some other way that didn't work out, so they gave it to doc as a fallback?
my thinking is that it was originally to have come out in EW or People, ut the ad got bumped. As a second option, tptb gave the glyph responsibility to Doc late last week.
All of you should listen to me. I told people all weekend that JEff was working to get the code out by himself... no big displays, just one guy.
Heh, I even thought he might have it on his car (posted in the window perhaps), since Ninja's clue was about it "traveling". Of course, tracking it to his nearby house might have been too much.

Uniquin - It is totaly okay and 100% understandable. But there is some small bit of pride people take when being first and it can be somewhat comical and only lasts for the first few posts. I have been looking all over Jeep.com and lycgy.com for the flashlight clue. The closest thing I can find is that the '07 Compass has a removeable flashlight, but I can't find any links or other info for a code.

I highly doubt there is any connection between the Samsonite ad/ad agency and TLE. There's no reason to think up till now that Samsonite would be involved in the game. I'm sure it's just a "stamp" the agency put on the ad because they're the ones that are doing Samsonite's marketing. We have no indication that the glyph was there before its sighting this morning; in fact we have no idea where it was before it was spotted where were told it would be this morning. I think you're stretching things quite a bit and making big assumptions that we have no evidence for...

Shakey - Right there with you. There is still a lot of speculation and theory right now. We have a great deal of facts that we can rely on but we also have a ton of unanswered questions. I don't think anything is out of the question at this point.
Has the Research Blog had anything new lately?
thrasher: I'd like to get a workup on nanotechnology on the Research blog but have been too busy. I also don't think I'm qualified since I've only read the occassional science article about it. Anyone out there have more expertise?

Cool! I'm such a wanna be. But science isn't my field, just something I like to read and speculate about.
The article could start with general definitions of nanotechnology including fictional uses from other science fiction genres. I found a great defintion in the Encyclopeadia Galatica online.
Then I was thinking it would be nice to take each of the areas Hanso is working in (from their old site) and describe how nanotechnology could be playing a role. Only I don't know enough to do that for all the areas. Nor do I know if such speculation would be helpful on a *research* blog.
So those are my current ideas? Any feedback?
