I think i figured it out. I've been sitting on my deck here in Indiana for about 3 hours facing west towards the ocean and all I could really see were the trees, so I went in for a closer look and there were 4 bugs sitting there. I think this might be it however there are too many posibilities for the letters fourbugs, I tried 4bugs, fourbugs, roufsgub and none worked. I think that if we all work together on this maybe we could figure it out. Once again, thank you TPTB for making this so interesting for us in Indiana.

ZERO the purpose of making something that FAKE is to make a very obvious joke for those of use who are frustrated and slap happy to laugh at. The fact that it is so obviously fake, makes it funny. Unlike anoying glyphs on flicker and youtube that look legit and turn out to be duds. Personally I think it's funny and I applaud Malvar for his sense of humor. Complaining about Malvar is the equivalent of Reporting Jon Stewart on the daily show for putting on fake news.

Dallas Apollo Giveaway Update (courtesy of Doug at http://lost.beloblog.com/?nl)

As of 1:45 PM (CST) on Monday, August 28, EVERYONE who has RSVP'd (so far) for the ABC FALL SNEAK PEEK in Dallas is verified.

Now here are some rules for attendees (hee hee, sounds so gradeschool):

• You must be 17 years old or older to attend.
• Make sure EACH attendee RSVP's individually.
• Dress is casual, but this is a VIP media event so don't look too dressed-down (don't be a slob, kids!).
• One (non-alcoholic) drink will be provided.
• The Granada kitchen will be open so you can order (purchase) dinner, snacks, more drinks etc.
• The event starts at 7:30 PM so please be there on time. Event staff does not want to seat late parites (it's kind of like going to a movie).
• Gift bags will be handed out at the END of the event. I take this to mean that APOLLO bars will be given out AFTER the presentation.
• Please DO NOT have fun. Just kidding, it should be a LOT of fun.

If you are attending the Dallas event, please feel free to drop me a note via my email address on Tapdawg's site to join our merry band. I've volunteered to be the point person to coordinate our meetup and would love suggestions for a good pre-event meeting place.

I had a new theory on the Apollo Bar giveaway. What if Rachel is trying to find the densest population of hardcore LE players? That way, if 20% of the candy bars are found in, let's say, London, England, then that might be where Alvar appears? Mr. Beardy could come in looking much older and scruffier, and make a public appearance, much like Rachel at comic-con. This seems to be a decent explanation for the long delay in gathering the bars, AND a reasonj for her to be asking where everyone is from. It also would make things kind of a contest between cities.

Even if this theory is false, it gives us som,e hope of a reason for trying, so I'm going to hold on to this belief, :)

Y'know I looked at that ad today, and the glyph was www.monster.com I could read it pretty clearly. The chair next to the guy in the photo said Hanso Foundation in place of a chair number. And if you read the copyright info on the bottom it has the copyright for monster.com and has the url for HE.com that's it.

sunsting - I just got that issue at my library and I agree, I don't think it's a glyph. It's a pseudo glyph. I've been poring over the ad to see if I'm missing something.

Have any Jeep-related clues appeared in any other magazines than EW? For instance, there's a two-page spread ad for the Compass in GQ this month, but I didn't see anything unusual. Of course, the blurred pixelation in all their ads always makes me think there's something hidden.

Wow, Blogger was giving me trouble with this post.

I've got to say this whole Apollo bar thing is just killing the experience for me. As you can see from WIA, the West Coast has only contributed TWO bars to the entire thing. I realize there are more events in CA into next month, but so far we've seen hundreds, if not thousands of bars given out with marginal results. It's frustrating sitting here while the experience grids to a hault for me as all those lucky players in the UK get to just walk into a store every day and get a bar if they wanted to.

And what's going to happen if we don't get all the bars we need? Will the experience just stop? I really feel that US distribution should have been handled better...or at least aimed for at least 1 PER STATE, Oregon reaaaally got hosed in all of this: our closest giveaway was over 3 hours away, and that was a day or two after the NY fiasco. As we can see from the map that entire giveaway only gave us ONE BAR.

Sorry for whining...the bars mixed with the long, drawn out glyphs lately has made the experience go from fun to really frustrating.

Which brings me to something I was thinking about with the latest Manny posts. The Speaker bit, the two songs mentioned by Manny, all have a theme of "two" or "double." Perhaps this is a tack worth taking.

Wonder if Isengard has anything to do with New Zealand (you know, where they filmed). Combined with the Olivia Newton-John reference and the Bad-Bad Leroy Brown.... wonder if they are poorly pointing to Austrailia.

The "scratched off" part of the new Sri Lanka Apollo bar picture on whereisalvar.com is in the shape of an astronaut! Tilt your head to the left and the face is where the astronaut's helmet is. I don't think Mr. Beardy looks like Hanso plus I think it would be a great twist if towards the end we get a clip that says "Joe Schmoe. I have taken over the Dharma Initiative following the disappearance of"

I think most of the clips from here on out aren't going to tell us much except for the last few which will throw in some twists. Perhaps the person filming the tape gets caught in the last clip...

I also have a problem with how someone could break into a seemingly top secret facility with a camera.

Anyway, my $.02.

milk: Between 31 and 32, the video is shoddy and frames scroll by, hence the reason why the audio skips a bit as well. As far as the antenna being joined to the helicopter, if you listen to the audio very carefully, you can tell when two fragments match up by the pitch of the background noise being the same. This, the fact that it makes contextual sense, the way that the first clip ends a sentence from hanso and the second starts a new one, and the way that each fragment has a good end/begining visually leads me to believe that the slice occurs just as the shot changes.

I disagree with the lostpedia ordering of the clips and will contintue to do so until all 70 are out and they are confirmed right or wrong. I still believe that Mr. Beardy is Alvar Hanso, the pictures match up and the music matches up in the background that's enough for me until something comes out to debunk it.
