Clue #124 - Fragment code "BAX5OUX8T"

Fragment code "BAX5OUX8T" has been found. Enter it in at Hanso Exposed to see the newest clip of Mittelwerk saying "It is not fair that innocents have to die so that we can perfect this virus...".

To find this newest glyph, head over to The Other Girl's UK4 blog and click on the hidden link on the left hand column of her site. Watch the "This is a Knife" video and 3:30 into it you will be treated to the newest glyph.

Thank you to Tresbian, Dazzedelf, and Selestina118 for emailing us on this!

I'm sure that someone has mentioned this, but in relation to the chocolate production:

I work in HR for a company that last year had their own chocolate made up for an event. We had around 10,000 bars (of the worst chocolate known to man, but that's another topic) for about $0.25 each. Went up or down per piece depending on quantity. We provided our own artwork too, and we had it done in less than a month and shipped out to our offices 'round the US and UK.

So you see, it's actually VERY do-able.

Admin: repeat question from last thread - Are you going to do storiesofthelost.blogspot.com this season?

ryan: Why come to Texas? Although if you do, enjoy our cooler weather. It's only going up to 99 today.

RE Burning Man: Anybody notice that you have to find M. David Bensen to get a bar at Burning Man? We don't know what he looks like. Could somebody please take a picture of him too!?

I don't think Alvar is the one who helps Rachel escape...reason being, Fixer's message to Rachel during the DJ Dan broadcast "I know where he is and I can arrange a meeting".

Clearly, Rachel is saved when a chocolate crazed Joop bursts from his bunk on the Helgus Antonius and runs amok through the diseased corpses, creating a distraction for Rachel to make her break.

ranadenisse: I too think there's something to the named glyphs. I hadn't heard the connection between Narvik and the letter from Hanso's dr. We're trying to answer the questions "Where's Alvar?" Maybe he's in Narvik?

re Rachel being compromised:
I don't think she's compromised, but there is the possiblity that she is and that the Comic Con stunt was something Mittlework put her up to.

I have a pretty silly (or naive) questions: It seems like the video is almost done (11 more frags), and should be complete next week. What are we supposed to do then? TWM has been exposed...now what? Physically stop him from spreading that virus? I know there are still a lot of unanswered questions (especially will we see Rachel meet Alvar, and what that relationship is confirmed to be), but I'm hoping that this video is not the denoument of the story, and we just have to tidy up a few loose ends.

The Lost Experience Miracle of the Day

So my DH (dear husband) is not a TLE player although he is a Lost fan (of the "avoids spoilers even previews at all costs" variety). Well last night we were swapping stuff that we were doing on the internet. He showed me those funny fan made Star Wars spoofs on You Tube, and I shared about TLE.

Today he e-mails a joke he wrote about the TLE! So sweet of him to indluge my addiction like that. I've added it to the lostyourhumor blog and reprinted it here in honor of him:

How many people does it take to get a TLE addict to change a light bulb?

Two. One to say they think there's a fragment code in the dead light bulb, and one to point out that the addict won't be able to see their F5 key again until they screw in the new light bulb.

8/31/2006 02:39:00 PM

I wrote it after I got up off the floor and re-attached my ass.

Also since we're not actually rolling on the floor neither is our *** coming off,

Speak for yourself...

so why not up the ante with our imagery? I've been trying to come up with some new ones. Here's my list so far:

COSL - Choking on Sprite Laughing
LSHNEMB - Laughing So Hard Nanites Exploded My Brain
FTNMKM - Funnier Than Ninja's Mom Kissing Mittlework
JALJL - Jumping Around Like Joop Laughing

LSHNEMB is the BEST! How about ...

ILSHISSOOMN - I Laughed So Hard, I Shot Sprite Out Of My Nose!

I'm not sure if this is old news or not, but on the Apollo Candy website, under Sept. 2 - Sept. 4 it says "For a bar you must find M. David Benson Black Rock Desert, Nevada Burning Man." Coincidence that they chose a location with the words "Black Rock" in it? I think not. Is anyone planning on going to the Burning Man art show? This sounds a little more in depth than the standard show-up-and-get-a-candy-bar routine.

mick: Definitely. M. David Bensen himself will be passing out the bars. Apollocandy.com doesn't give us any idea what he will look like. Based on the story of Apollo Candy they give us, it even sounded like he wasn't affiliated with Apollo Candy anymore.

Anywho, yeah, I think it might be more important.

Was over the beatbox site earlier but did not find anything. Maybe there is something there now, or maybe it'll be there on Monday...

Nin, yes that monkey selling website is very, very, creepy. So much so that I still have a hard time believing that it is legit, although it looks so very real. Ew. So slick and lovely on the surface, but think about its purpose ... "Get your specially grown monkeys for all your important science projects. They are healthy and we even sell toys that you can give to them to play with while their skulls are opened up and you shock their brains." Does PETA know about them? (Although PETA scares me too)

Admin: repeat question from last thread - Are you going to do storiesofthelost.blogspot.com this season?

Twinkle,
There was very little response to that blog although it reflects one of my favorite aspects of the whole LOST mythology. On a personal note, the spiritual themes and the ideas of redemption/second chances are what resonate with me the most about the show. I've let it rest for the time being but I am planning on doing little "mini-essays" every time something hits me from the show.

I would be open to others willing to contribute...Thanks for asking!

I think the glyph "at the rocks" was the one found this morning.... 59.

I'm not sure but I think "the rocks" is an area in Sydney where that hotel was.

sunsting - GG had "something," "a package" to give Rachel. She never made it (car got flat). So it's certainly possible that she made the video (having aired concerns with her BF Hugh about something to do with Sri Lanka), got caught by Mittelwerk (who we know has had some antagonistic conversation with Hugh), Hugh convinced Mittelwerk to let her go, and then once Hugh stopped worrying, Mittelwerk had both Hugh and GG killed.

Occam is spinning in his grave, but it's certainly a possibility.

Chris, looks like three of us are here.

sunsting - Nevermind. I'm pretty sure that, unless the whole "Rachel" construct is a lie, the Sri Lanka video was shot by Rachel. Her last text post on her blog said that she saw things in SL that were scary, and that she was lucky to get out. I don't know how she would have gotten out given that we hear her get tackled by the entire Team DHARMA defensive secondary, but that's what "Rachel" said anyway.

Man...this is killing me. Season 3 is so close, and yet there are so many days at my sucky job in between now and then... And I can't even mitigate the suckiness of my job by engaging in TLE because my sucky work computer doesn't allow HE.com, Apollo.com or any other Flash-type sites. Ugh.

I'm in Seattle right now (as opposed to merry old Wisconsin) for a friend's wedding. This is a big city! It's on the West Coast (where everything happens, apparently)! Couldn't there be, like, a glyph taped to the window at El Gaucho? I could see it from my hotel window, walk down the stairs, and bingo!

8/31/2006 10:31:00 PM
Blogger thinbluemime said...

isn't it an abomination to include "suckiness" in the same sentence with "mitigate"? (wink)

8/31/2006 10:43:00 PM
Blogger Olerica said...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that that putting "suckiness" and "mitigate" in the same sentince bring the end of the world.

Perhaps the verbal representation of the valenzetti equation results.

Sounds like Manny is refering to "Bring Back that Leroy Brown" track 8 from the 1974 Queen Album Sheer Heart Attack Which refers to "Big Bad Leroy Brown" and Let's Get Physical by Olivia Newton John. I havn't got a clue what the relevence is though!

Where does this fragment go in the sequence? I'm guessing after the valenzetti equasion is introduced...

9/01/2006 06:16:00 AM
Blogger oodles said...

Interesting clip. We are getting closer to the Valenzetti Equation.
Looks like what the Dharma Initiative was trying to do is to change the numerical values contained in the equation to postpone or stop the end of the world as we know it.
Kind of what I'd been thinking - an equation of that nature would have constants and variables (like population size, resources, number of countries holding nuclear warheads, political regimes etc.); change the values of the variables and the end result changes.
