Clue #91 - Fragment Codes "VOU8VPNPS5X", "750NZF8X", "NZ59", & "e82kni8l"

Fragment Code "VOU8VPNPS5X" was found at the physical location of King's Comics at 310 Pitt St. in Sydney, Australia! This was hinted at by the Lost Ninja in THIS POST. The video fragment is of Mittelwerk saying, "So now we have to take radical action."

Fragment Code "750NZF8X" was found in a text messaging service in the UK mentioned by The Other Girl in her August 3rd post. The text message gives you a link to a glyph that can be seen by clicking here. The video fragment is of Mr. Beardy saying, "The equation is the brainchild of the mathematician, Enzo Valenzetti."

Fragment Code "NZ59" was found in an Australian Yahoo video on this website. Click "Watch Ep 223's Secret Clue" (Many people have been having trouble getting this Yahoo video to play). The video fragment is of Mittelwerk saying, "So when you go in, you have to keep up with story."

Fragment Code "e82kni8l" was just emailed to us and it works. We discovered that it was found on THIS Korean Lost website. The video is of Mr. Beardy saying, "D.H.A.R.M.A." is an acronym for Department of Heuristics And Research on Material Applications." Still not sure of the details about how/where this code was found (please email us if you know)

Thanks to Shannon, Esther, Matt, Rob, Scoutpost, Lucamu, bman_numero_uno, Nat, Sean, & Jen for emailing us about these codes!

The american's did get real life clues. We had the bracelets at San Diego comic can, and we had a clue given in the american podcast. We also got a public appearance by Rachel Blake, apparently she has enough in her travel fund to attend comic book conventions in america when she's not busy in Sri Lanka. Widmore must give a great severance package, I'm thinking of applying there.

Here is a solution if you are having problems saving your sequence

Hey I just wanted to share something I have discovered. I had been having a problem saving my sequence. Well, I found the solution. It is very tedious but, there is a fool proof way to safe your sequence. Once you have arranged the clip to your liking you have to move each clip from the timeline to the arrangement panel and back to the timeline. It is really a pain but I am 5 for 5 now. To make sure that the sequence saved correctly simply clip on the link that appears after you hit save. It will open a new window. Then click continue and the screen will display a number out of the total (e.g., 4/16). If you see a denominator less than the total number of fragment you have found then something is wrong and you have to try again. But, if you use the method the I described (which is time consuming) you won't have this problem. Hope this helps!

P.S. This is actually my first post. I have been playing the game since the third week or so. I never post but read all of your comments often. You all are doing a great job. Keep up the good work!

I don't read other people's orders painkiller, and I don't even share my own. I'm looking forward to trying to figure out the order of all 70 by myself I think the video ordering is fun. i already have a bunch of fragments together, and I have a hazy order in mind, but we haven't even hit the halfway marker yet for fragments released (still need 9 more for that) So there is a good chance that a lot of the lists are wrong in some respects because of lack of enough information.

8/03/2006 10:07:00 AM

Damn the IT department where I work. I've not had internet connection all day and so now there is suddenly a load more glyphs. Drat and double drat.

One day I'll actually be here from the off. Ah well.

Also looks like I'm going to have to actually start paying attention to what tOG has to say for herself from now on.

I guess the focus of this act really is the three go-betweens.

Anyway I guess that it will be dead for the rest of the night too now. Nevermind I'm planning on seeing a band anyway.

One more thing - "keep up with story"? I'm not sure that is what it is. It could be "keep up the story" or "keep up his story".

ScottE--

Yeah, I've been think about Evie since last night when I saw her as a featured extra in the pilot episode of Dead Like Me (in the bank she is interacting with one of the tellers) and y'know, she supposedly hadn't done any acting before Lost and when she was back up in Canada she didn't watch or even have a TV, I believe, but she still wanted it bad enough to immerse herself in L.A. and to do extra work, etc.

Part natural talent & luck..? I don't know, but her life's completely different and more intense than she could ever have imagined. She's got a lot do deal with that she's not used to as the media is on top of her all the time. Who is she going out with, is it a real relationship, papparazzi following...

Yeah, you'd probably like her life, but she's got a LOT of craziness to deal with in hers. There's a trade-off that you don't see until you're in the middle of it. Is it all worth it... yes, maybe to a point as it depends on the individula, but we'll have to wait and see where this hottie goes next.

CRAaaaaaazy!!! When Ninja first posted the glyph he found on a street corner pole in Oz and we all pondered whether it was a "plant" or not OR it was also to demonstrate how we should deal with finding a glyph IRL (in real life), I was frustrated by the slowness and ir-reality of it all (it is an ARG) and then I joked about going out and checking at my local NYC comics store, midtown comics, www.midtowncomics.com, and then lo & behold a glyph IS found at a comics store down under!?!

Yeah, we in the USA have had ComicCon with glyph bracelets and a rachel appearance AND I'm sure they're trying to up the profile in OZ & the UKkie country with some great PR (are the local papers & TV picking up on it as at least some kind of entertainment news?), but to find an actual physical posting somewhere in the USA would go a LONG way to making ME and probably a lot of other USA players to feel more in-game.

Emphasis on MY... If twenty people have already posted the same thing, I apoligize and don't mean to steal your thunder, it just struck me as odd is all.

I'm wondering if we will actually find out who Mr. Beardy is? The clip has a skip right at the start of when he is saying "I'm..." and then the clip ends. I think this because this ARD is by the writers of Lost and they are great a creating more questions than providing answers. That's what keeps people coming back.

Under The Hatch section. I have asked a moderator to make it a sticky so that it will always be on top. I will add the questions that have already been there (another thread started by ZSGhost) and then we can all add to it too. If you want to post on the thread just go to the message board and make a username and password. Once you have those you can post or PM me with questions that you'd like added.

Twinkle-PM is private message through the message board (like an e-mail):)

TLE will payoff as:

According to SCI-FI Wire, the producers of Lost told them that The Lost Experience will culminate with a series of revelations about the show's mysteries. "Currently in phase three of five of the interactive challenge, the meaning behind the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42, which play a significant role on the television series, will be revealed,"

ABC said in a press release. So far, The Lost Experience has unveiled information regarding the Black Rock and the significance in the title of the DHARMA Initiative. The Lost Experience will continue to the premiere of season three, revealing secrets behind the mysterious Alvar Hanso and the Hanso Foundation.

I've been tossing around a few ideas in my head about the new TVM clip: "So when you go in, you have to keep up with story."
At first I had though maybe it has to do with the hatches, the quarantine, vaccines, and the fake sickness that Kelvin had Des believing in. But now I am wondering if the story doesn't have something to do with the mythos behind the Valenzetti Equation. Mittlewerk is showing the video telling about the Valenzetti Equation that some DHARMA recruits see. However, the folks watching the video know the true story (which we don't yet) and are being asked to keep up with the story that tells of the UN rejecting the equation, Valenzetti's unknown whereabouts, etc...

I decided to create a list of things that we learned from the latest lost podcast from comic con(why, because i'm bored).
WARNING: MAY HAVE SPOILERS FOR THOSE NOT DONE WITH SEASON TWO

- We will have a completely different perspective of how long they have actually been on the island (might be accomidating ms. Rachel Blake on the island)

-Sun is going to have Michael's baby probably around season 13(just kidding)

-There is an underwater hatch

-Rose and Bernard do NOT work for Dharma

-Rachel is a relative of Alvar Hanso "ALVAR HANSO IS REAL, AND I AM LIVING PROOF OF THAT, AND MY NAME IS RACHEL BLAKE"

-There will be more OZ references in the show

-Rose WAS confirmed cured of her disease because of the island

-Mobisodes will be available to see for free online a week after it is released on -verizon- and will reveal secrets from the show

-The two people revealing the codes sound suspiciously like the young kate and tom from the time capsule in the first season.

-Locke and Desmond survived the hatch incident (not sure about Eko) and locke will be the Great White Hunter again next season.

-The hyroglyphics mean underworld

-New regulars next season

-NO NO NO ONCE AND FOR ALL NO, THE MONSTER IS NOT A CLOUD OF NANOBOTS!!!

-Kate will make her choice between Jack and Sawyer in the first 6 episodes.

-The first episode of the next season will be called The Tale of Two Cities

-Something BIG will happen half way through the season that will "fry our brains"

-Alex will be back next year

Hi Marcus, I agree there have been and will be more major revelations answered I just don't think TBTB will wrap things up nice an tidy at the end. They'll leave some things unanswered to either keep the mystery alive or as teasers to continue the ARG after S3 airs. That doesn't diminish the fun for me at all. It just means its possible for the fun to continue.

Random thoughts as I wait for work to pick up again:

* I've mentioned it before, but it bears repeating - no matter who Beardy actually is, I bet $20 he will NOT say "Alvar Hanso" in the film.
* I'm not unhappy with this phase as some are, but I admit that the whole frag code thing is tough...I'm mildly dyslexic and keep getting the codes confused!
* I've had the thought that the boxes around the glyphs may be more important than the glyphs themselves. Notably, the fact that they differ in the location of the spaces. Has anyone tried to intepret them?
* I'm very interested in the fact that Beardy says repeatedly, "The One True Way." To me, this is very different than saying, we must find a way to stop this catastrophe, and veers into, Let me tell you what you should do. Adds more confusion to the argument over whether Hanso or Mittelwerk are good guys/bad guys.

That was neither denied nor confirmed so one can't really write that it is a fact.

I was thinking, why use fake names when they disclose real names e.g. Candle/Wickman refers to the DeGroots and Hanso, but doesn't disclose his name?

Not only will I take that bet for $20, but I will also point out to you that the word Dharma's stands for "the one true way" in Mr. Beardy, Alvar Hanso's, meaning.

Dharma (Sanskrit धर्म) or Dhamma (Pāli) means Natural Law or Reality, and with respect to its significance for spirituality and religion might be considered the Way of the Higher Truths.

I apologize if this is old, just couldn't find mention of it via ctrl-f. On Ninja's blog he says DJ Dan's podcast is at 5PM. What timezone is that. I'm 95% positive that the first nine clips are all sequenced together given the limited pool of clips... I did this using the audio and visual cues you get from each clip.

I know a few in the middle may be out of order, but then again at the end, I am 95% sure the last eight clips are all sequenced properly.

kylelane, I get a similar feeling, but I think that, instead of the glyphs meaning something, when we get all of the clips aligned correctly, the string of letters and numbers in the codes will be a cyphertext that can be decoded.

Is it just you and me in here Marcus? Other things I'll bet $20 on:

* the ARG and the show won't link up at all for the first 6 episodes of the season. (Probably longer, but I'll only but the buckos on epis 1-6).
* Alvar lives and is hiding out in a hatch under the island.

On DJ Dan's site it says:

LIVE! LIVE! LIVE! ConspiraSpies! Friday, the night of August 11th (PST - USA). For all you Brits and Aussies, that's... Saturday, August 12th? Is that right? Tonya, where's my international time conversion chart?

More details to come! Til then, keep your voices yammering, your hearts beating for the truth, and your EYES ON THE MAN!

Ninja says - And yes, I'll admit that I got the time wrong for the LIVE DJ Dan podcast wrong. It's Saturday NEXT week at 5pm. I'll be here, and I'll let you know the details as soon as I come across them in my snoops.

So the time on the PST (Pacific - like L.A. is equal to 5pm in Sydney?) would have to be 12am in L.A., 3am in NY, 8am in London & 5pm in Sydney if this set time for the podcast is correct?

So now I'm confused because for it to be 7/11 at midnight, it will not be 7/12 in London or Sydney

for it to be correct would make more sense to be 5pm on PST, 8pm on EST, 1am GMT and 10am in Sydney... any thoughts?

OR my time zone math may need some minor corrections, the Ninja may be in a different part of OZ and I'm also all shook up?

You know, I hate to moan, but I just got to say. It's typical that the C4 (the UK channel showing Lost) clue is one you had to spend money to find. I mean whatever network Lost is on in Australia just put the clue somewhere in public, no problems there someone will live near. What C4 did was make people send text messages, thereby bagging the greedy so and so's a nice fat wad of cash for their single segment of video. Not only that but of course giving C4 a whole load of mobile numbers they can then sell to advertising companies or just use to spam you themselves.

Just wanted to say that.

Anyway back to biz: Macus - Yeah I agree with you. I can't see DJDan doing it live at midnight PST. Although from my point of view, as the UK is in BST (GMT+1) at the moment it would be either 2am or 9am. On a sunday I'm probably more likely to be awake at 2am, but either way it's going to be tough. Not impossible at least. I guess finding a time that is good for all three countries would be near on impossible.

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been more marketing involved actually.

Buying a bottle or can or whatever of Sprite. Getting a text message on your Verizon phone. Setting up or updating your Monster profile. Taking a Compass for a test drive.

You'd think the advertizers would have made sure something like that was in the works so they would get some kind of pay off besides name awareness.

Hi everybody!

Here's a thought (or naive wishful thinking), but it seems to me that very soon the pace of the glyph-release will have to pick up as we will be filling in more and more of the gaps in the video and it won't be too hard to make some connections between words and phrases even if we don't have the exact clip. Of course, my money is on McBeardy's "I'm..." sequence being finished last.

I don't think they're going to do the podcast at midnight PST... that's just crazy... They would alienate too many people... 12am is do-able for ppl in PST, but for ppl in EST it would be 3am which is a different story, and would also make it the following day, which isn't indicated on DJ Dan's page... and are we going to be able to call in? What about AU and UK are they going to be able to call in as well?... we'll have to wait and see how it is... but I'm excited about it... They're giving us enough time to get the word to everyone and build up anticipation... we'll have to wait and see...

As for Ninja ans Speaker and how "in the know" they are... I consider them the same as the characters on the show... they know only what they need to know for the scene they are currently shooting... They don't have any idea of the grand scheme of things, but do have an intregal part in each ingredient... I think Ninja is responsible for planting the physical clue... just as speaker was responsible for deploying the riddle clue we got last week...

If you make it to FT.Worth, Angelo's BBQ and Joe T Garcia's should not be missed. Actually go there first then do whatever in Dallas.

On the "Fragment Released" and "Fragment Found" numbers on the XML stats page - those numbers appear to be unreleated to the code numbers. They appear to be hashes of the date/time of the release and finding of the codes and no more than that :(

But I welcome someone proving me wrong!

Fenris-

With the code already released and known, I would never have spent money on sending one, BUT it's the same in the USA for a show on NBC called Treasure Hunters... my brother has been doing a text message every week because they've given him clues to the final treasure and possibly by mistake THE answer to where the treasure lays, BUT it's still a lottery pool that you go into. So they're paying for the opportunity to win like $200,000!! Other USA TV shows have you pay to text in, but I lived in London and you Brits take the cake ;-)

BTW, L.A., NYC and most of America are on Daylight Savings Time so just the PST or EST to summer and your BST is still only 5 hours off of EST.

I have a headache, but it may be from too much A/C, so I'm going to shower down and head out into the thick of it of around 104 degrees with the heat index and I'll be ready for more A/C & ARG (or not) later!!

and if DJDan is going to do a LIVE broadcast from the USA, then he's going to make it at a time where we could call in... yeah, I know you guys with Vonage, Net2Phone & Skype, et al., can call the USA cheaply, but until we're told otherwise (Ninja!!?! get it right before you post things to your loyal followers!! 5, 8, 1 & 10 or some variant

7/11 @ 5pm (West), 8pm (East) - 7/12 @ 1am (UK) & 10am (Sydney) sounds reasonable

Yeah, that was #26, but I thought we didn't have an explanation for where it came from?

Is there a chance that we might get a The Lost Experience Clues Podcast soon?

Right now it is the best part about this game.

I have noticed that we have "lost" a few of our regular contributers lately and I have asked myself the same question. Why am I still doing this? Well, I have to beleive that there is going to be some sort of pay off here. I have spoken to a few of you about this and Matt the Pale hit the nail on the head in a letter to TPTB about how this is not a true ARG, but more of a story that will unfold and we will get to "play" along. It is unfortunate to have miss certain people and I hope they come back soon. Think about how great of a community this is. It has truly grown bigger than anyone of us could have hoped. It has spawned so many great things, from the Research Team, to a cool chat room, to some true friendships. No matter how this ends, with a bang or a flutter I will truly remember the cool people and the friendships that this "game" has created. Thanks for the inspiration to write this Belly.

marcus, you are right, a week from now and Australia can no longer be spoiled! Still a long way to go for the UK though :(

Knowing that Javi basically wrote the ARG and no outside (as in ARG pros) helped I am not surprised at the way the game has gone. I'm trying to stay on the positive side, but have to agree that it would have been nice if this had been more true to the ARG way. Ah well, if has been fun, mostly cool people and gets the old brain matter ticking a bit

you're right, Lavenda, there are 2 channels - both owned by Channel 4. I watched Maternity Leave on Tues, and then the other channel showed the next episode straight afterwards, which I'll watch next week.

trasher76: I think the answer to why people are losing some interest in the ARG is simple: phase 3 is bloody boring... And worst of all, there's no "sense of accomplishment" with this type of clues. The only thing that really matters is who enters the spoon-fed code first.

Oh, and that HE website has a huge bottleneck: the login phase. They load every flv each time you logon! That's just silly.

Lavenda, that's interesting about Javi. I didn't realize that. Certainly explains the flow. Also could explain the relative lack of adaptability to the players' requests for more challenges...if he's not an ARG guy, he might not be as innovative in changing on the fly. And he may also be quite busy on the show etc.

Thrasher et al...I just don't think there's a lot for us to hash through in this part of the experience. Before, we were finding things out about organ harvesting and life extension and disappearing executives and mysterious islands. We had loads of things to ponder because we were trying to connect all these random and intriguing dots. Now we get a 2 second snippet that just doesn't lend itself to too much research or analysis. (though we managed to burn up a boatload of blog space on "I'm...")

Belly - Dane Cook is a great and funny comedian...I have heard of him but I don't know him....I am a bigger fan of Jim Gaffigan...

Lost - You are correct! This is boring and there is no sense of accomplishment to be had anywhere. Before, even if you were not first to find a clue, you could retrace someone steps for yourself and get some satisfaction. What this tells me is that TPTB are not really listening to us. At least not in this phase of the game...the die has been cast I am affraid...

Thank god we should be getting a new podcast soon....right? David?

Yes, well said, thrasher. Totally agree. Before this glyph thing started we had plenty to think about and research. Now it's just a waiting game since no frag so far has given us anything earth shattering. We've only seen things either confirmed or things a lot of us already know and suspect. No big reveal will come until that last frag is placed in the sequence.

Although we're all complaining now, I still find this a wonderful "experience". Great discussions, meeting great people, great trivia, and the beginnings of great friendships. I sincerely hope this "family" stays together once this ARG is over. We'll always have plenty to talk about...we'll always have Season 3, etc. and how our theories from the ARG factor in. I hope this blog continues in that vain (hear me, David?)

I agree Maven, I think it would be cool to continue this blog, or a new to discuss the show and things we find and see on it...

I am not sure I would have th etime to create one, but I would be interested in doing so with some of you. That is if David does not see the need to continue on with this one...

To liven things up a bit I want to pass something by you guys.
I think I cracked the timestamp code on the print-out from the Pearl Station. I made an entry on the relevant Lostpedia site at http://lostpedia.com/wiki/Log_printout
under "Theories".
The log printout shows the hours and minutes that have passed since an event in the 28th century BC. For example: 41602050 hours would represent 4749.09 years. We don't know what (island) time period the print-out covers but it can reasonably be assumed to be between 1985 (the incident) and late 2004 (log printed out). This means that 0 on the log would represent a date sometime between 2764 BC and 2745 BC. An important person in that time period was Fu Hsi, legendary ruler of China (traditional dates: 2852 BC-2738 BC). According to tradition Fu Hsi had the arrangement of the trigrams of the Yi Jing revealed to him supernaturally. The trigrams form part of the Bagua which is used as the symbol of the Dharma Initiative. Assuming that the number of hours passed since Fu Hsi's birth year 2852 BC were taken as the start of the log, the last previous printout was probably taken in 1997.
If my theory is correct "The Pearl" may have been manned until 1997.

I agree Maven. I don't regret being involved in the experience for one iota of a second (whatever an iota is). But the actual content itself just seems to go downhill. It hasn't helped that the story at ROT has fizzled, Mandrake seems to be acting without any kind of purpose at all and DJ Dan is apparently on holiday. It's all led to a very very empty act.

Still the community itself has shown again and again we can entertain ourselves even if TPTB can't!

My pleasure, thrasher76.
In fact, there is more (from Wikipedia on Fu Hsi):
In the beginning there was as yet no moral or social order. Men knew their mothers only, not their fathers. When hungry, they searched for food; when satisfied, they threw away the remnants. They devoured their food hide and hair, drank the blood, and clad themselves in skins and rushes. Then came Fu Xi and looked upward and contemplated the images in the heavens, and looked downward and contemplated the occurrences on earth. He united man and wife, regulated the five stages of change, and laid down the laws of humanity. He devised the eight trigrams, in order to gain mastery over the world.

sorry about not responding earlier, I was commuting... what I posted was a translation from text on a link that puzizic17 posted about clue #26. He said it was originally in a caption for the Korean tv station that runs Lost (at least I think so... he deleted his post almost immediately). I didn't have time to look into it in more detail before I left work. I'm looking at the site now, and it appears to be a Lost forum in Korean... need to get the character set installed, tho, cuz from home it's all gibberish. If anyone wants to look into in themselves, the site is

re: log print-out and Fu Hsi / Dharma logo (see above)
It's Fu Hsi's death year 2738 BC that falls within the range but 2738BC plus 4749 years would yield a date in the future (2011). So neither his birth year nor his death year could be the "start date" for the purposes of the log. My guess is it's the year the trigrams were "revealed to him supernaturally" (haven't yet found out) or perhaps some other significant event in his life (e.g. the year he became ruler of China).
In legend he seems to be ascribed with civilizing mankind which is interesting in the context of the prediction of the time when mankind is going to extinguish itself.
Another interesting reference is the five stages of change. Remember how Mandrake Wig always goes on about change? Also we now know that there are not 3 but 5 stages to the ARG!

Oodles - nice non-linear thinking, but doesn't the printout we see in Live Together, Die Alone give the date in rather a more standard format, as in we can clearly tell that it says 22nd September 2004?
