Clue #94 - Fragment Code "KU12PB5LV7"

Fragment Code "KU12PB5LV7" has been found at StopHanso.com . Directly below the 748L glyph is an empty space. Guide your cursor over the blank space and the new glyph appears. The Video Fragment is of Mr. Beardy saying, "What you may not know is why we have assembled the Dharma Initiative"

*Check out Matt the Pale's summary of all the found fragment codes at...Matt the Pale's HansoExposed Video Fragment Code List

Thanks to Dazzedelf and Kyle for being the first to e-mail us on this new code. Great Job Lavenda for being the first to find it!

You'll love her thrasher, provided she has a calm temperment. I have 2 that we rescued from the neighborhood when they were 6 or 7 weeks old, and they are a constant source of amusement.

I was always a dog person, but these 2 just melted my heart. Nothing better than coming home after a long day and having a cat curl up next to you. I still love dogs, and take every opportunity to spend time with my boyfriend's boxer and mutt (I hate that word), but I wouldn't trade Mulder and Scully (I used to worship The X-Files) for the world.

I have pretty much given up on the hanso exposed website. The site is so poorly programmed and wonky that it won't keep more than 10 or 12 fragments properly placed in the timeline. We're dealing with only 28-29 fragments right now and I have to reorganize them every time I log in. What will happen when we get to 70... it'll take 30 - 40 minutes to reorganize them and then you'll get one frag that comes up as "unidentified". Then you have to exit to get that fragment to load properly and none of your fragments stay in place. It's rediculous.

8/08/2006 10:05:00 AM
Blogger tapdawg said...

the best way to see if all your frags have been saved is by clickiing on the liunk after saving and then waiting for it to tell you how many frags are on the video your going to view... if all the videos are on it, then they all saved and are in the right place. Then you can close both browsers and be content.

1. Go back to the sort page.
2. Move all of your clips from their spot to storage and back.
3. Re-save, and re-check on the viewer.
4. If the number is still incorrect, repeat and do not close HE.com until it is correct in your viewer.

I have to agree the timing is kinda weird. Presumably they'll give us all the boring bits first and save the big revelations for last. But it's been a couple weeks now of boring bits, and at this pace it'll be another couple weeks of boring bits until the 10 really interesting frags are revealed. By then we'll have beaten every possible scenario to death so the reveals won't really be that surprising. I'm not really complaining, because even in this mode this game is much more interesting than watching the SpongeBob movie with my kids for the 700th time. But I get the sense TPTB thought this would be much more compelling than it is...

amppfofu, I am totally with you on that one. This is just an annoyance. It's not suspenseful. Unless you are an uberobsessed fan with no life, there is very little chance that you will find a clue. And then when you are given them by the cheat sites, they are just pointless untill we have them all. So it's become drudgery, basically.

And now, the last two codes have loaded "undefined" videos that won't play, and it's starting to look like I'm going to have to get a new account and enter them all again. How. Fun.

I'm this close to bailing and just downloading it from YouTube in, like, A MONTH, when they've finally released all the codes and someone else had put it all together.

Even if this whole things was real, I don't think I'd have stuck with it any longer than this. It's boring and annoying and apparently they just ran out of story before they ran out of summer hiatus and needed some way to fill the time so they are dragging this bit out incessantly.

I feel the game was advertised as something more exciting and more informative then what we are getting. I was under the impression, that "edge of our seat" quality we were going to be getting wasn't going to be from trying to find 70 codes that may or may not be on the internet over a period of weeks. ::shrugs:: I'm enjoying aspects of the game, just not the whole thing, maybe it's just me, or maybe they didn't plan this whole thing well enough. No clue. But I'm not quitting, I want my video.

Fenris, If it makes you feel any better, I think your icon is kinda interesting, I can't really tell what it is, but it looks like a fish got it's head embedded in a fence and it's body is stiking out, this amuses me.

Ambient: That's cool, I think we are all desperate for connections, because ever since they started this, the rest of the game has just died. No conspiracies, no secret posts, just keep looking for random codes until you have all 70. Some days there will be 0 codes, somedays there will be 5, other days anywhere in between. "Enjoy your game!". Honestly I'm looking forward to the game being over, so my OCD can find something else to obsess over while I'm at work. But as much as I complain I will see this out to it's ending. At least in a month season2 will be out on dvd, and I can take my lost obsession back to the couch.

This is an interesting clip. It made me rethink some of the order I had. It obviously goes directly before 90VDHOHU since that clip starts with the "v" sound of "initiative" that is clipped at the end of "KUL..."

I thought maybe that moved the DHARMA acronym clips closer to the beginning, but then saw that Mr. B is no longer near the window. The acronym clips must be after the island clips, since Mr. B moves from the window to the desk in the final clip we have ("VIX7ZXT97").

There seems to be a general order we can put things in my noticing where MB is standing. The tricky ones are the close-ups, because we can't tell where he is, though given the consistent wall color behind him, I imagine he's over by the desk. That makes me think that all close-up shots are together and after the island and acronym clips. This assumes the person shooting the video isn't going back and forth from wide to close shots. I also think the fact that the final clip we have in the Orientation film is a close-up supports this theory.

Sorry if this is all "grasping at straws" stuff since there's so little to discuss, but it could help us sort out future clips.

Long time lurker, first time poster, please be kind.
I quickly scanned the fragment list put together by 'Matt the Pale', but came up empty, so I wanted to ask: on the OceanicFlight815 site, on the menu across the bottom, there is an image that is a series of verticle lines or bars amidst the other words that can be clicked on, and when the lines/bars are clicked, it prompts for a code to be entered. Has this been used as a previous code? As I said, I didn't see it listed on the list of fragments put together by 'Matt the Pale'.
Can someone clarify? Thanks.

erich - I went through much the same thought process you did. I'm not sure where the Dharma clips go now but for the moment I'm putting them before the island stuff. It just makes sense to me that Beardy would start by introducing himself, then welcome the viewers, then talk about the topic at hand - Dharma - then explain that Dharma grew out of the VZ, then explain what the viewers will be expected to do on the island. I think the "Why all the security?" clip might transition to the close-up clips, since it's the only one where he moves.

To me the really interesting question is the "You are bound by your honor and committment" clip. I can't get over the feeling that that one is too different in appearance and film quality. It could be just a way to say, don't tell anyone about Dharma or the island. But I also think (since we have so many clips to go) that it could be an addendum to the original video. Like, you hear about the VE and the island, and then afterwards Beardy comes back on and says, it's several years later now - something new and bad has happened and let me tell you about it.

kylelane - I'm afraid the only way the acronym clips could be before the island sequence is if MB went back to the window after having already moved to the desk.

I think we have to assume the audience for this film had already heard of the DHARMA initiative (evidenced by his saying that they had already worked with the DeGroots, and looking back to that DJ Dan who had at least heard the name).

I think that after this clip he will say, "what is it for, what does it stand for" then go in to the clips we have with the explanation, then the island clips, then I think he will tell us why it was established and introduce the footage of the V equation and what it does..."the reults are chilling"

8/08/2006 11:44:00 AM
Blogger Erich said...

kylelane - I agree that the "honor and commitment" clip is interesting. I also believe it comes before the island clips (possible even directly before the first island clip, "7ti"), since it ("7hkbh") starts with MB by the window.

If the audience already has a basic familiarity with DHARMA, the information about the island would definitely be new and something to keep a "secret."

Thrasher - I agree that the new clip goes into the island stuff (with the addition of some new clips we haven't seen yet), but I hold firm that the acronym clips are after the island.

I know this is probably a small point to harp on, but there's a reason he explains what it stands for after talking about the island. It could be a lead-in to the VE stuff.

Hey erich - basically I agree with you on "honor and committment". I have it before the island sequence now, and it does seem to fit next to 7ti (the first island clip) since the island clip has Beardy in front of that thick black bar which I think is the picture frame. I'm jest not toally convinced. I mean they have to throw some twists in here, don't they? Don't they!!??!?!??

Looking at it again, you make a great point on the DHARMA clips. The position Beardy is in while talking Dharma does correspond better to where he is at the end of the "why all the security clip."

Okay, I just watched the clips of good ol' Mitts, at one point the camera zooms in and you kind of see the back ground...does it look like a container ship to anyone else? Like he is preping his crew before the embark on their journey?

Erich - I think it is a lead in, but I am not sure in what order he talks about them, that is how I have them set up for no, until we get more info. then it may change...once I get more of the video I may change my mind. I kind of think that he tells us what dharma is then shows us where it will take place...IMHO

ryandrumz, I agree! Catching up so quickly was great. I loved that I could hunt around and see where they had been found and don't feel like I have missed much. I read somewhere earlier, someone said this faze may be for the Jim/Pam's... that is very possible! If so, I must be one of the Jim/Pam types myself. I like being able to go right to TLEC and see where we are each morning.. refreshing the comments throughout the day.. and not have to be surfing the entire web all day (with fear of losing my job).

I can only rearrange them while at home, the reason for that is that I have no speakers at work, so my order at the moment is based purely on visual assumptions...and the transcripts...which could be an advantage or not...meh!

Ok, maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I really believe that minus some important clips, we have the beginning of the film through the island sequence.

Try this sequence:

ohge
zy6c
4kvklaydm0

missing clip(s)

gmx18bcj

missing clip(s)

ku12pb5lv7
90vdhohu
7hkbh
7ti

missing clip(s)

3zgt
1ey8azczna2
vix7zxt97

Big revelations here: "90vd..." goes directly into "7hkbh" (the "honor and commitment" clip) and then directly into "7ti" (the first island clip).

Check it out. I will try and post a link to a viewer that will show this order.

I beleive this new clip goes directly in front of "90vdohu". I think the explaination goes after the island stuff. I think the backgrounds are the answer. As most of you say, Beardy only moves once, there are only two backgrounds. (First time here and I agree with Dixee about catching up and being able to play without surfing the net 24/7. Jobs are a good thing to have.)

A lot of my order is visual but I use sound for confirmation. The still image of the clip is always the last scene, I try to make that match up with the opening image of other clips. It also helps out with the ordering for MR. Beardy, I can look at the background on his closeups and get a general idea where they should go.

Does anyone else think "rrgyxs" (the "you will know the one true way has been found" clip) looks as though the beginning of it is being fast forwarded through? The interference looks different than the "old film" stuff we see elsewhere, and there seems to a noise.

It may just be my imagination, but it's two-cents' worth anyway.

thrasher: that sucks.. you should pick up some headphones? maybe?

erich: good order so far.. I'm almost done with mine and I'll post a link to the sequence, along with the sequence, itself... your's starts out pretty much the same as mine... however, also, I think that xigz2y10s2 looks like it comes directly before m6xy398,

then, later, there's this

88ch
750nzf8x
89rmcocdc6d

in a stream together... I'm piecing it all up, but, again... new pieces make us realize that there are more and bigger gaps than we first thought there were, and the more we get filled in, the more we have to shift all these to the end...

Thrasher may be right in thinking that he's at an advantage in just seeing the transcripts... if you only look at the transcripts and full descriptions of the clips, until entire video is released, it would be ALOT easier to arrange the videos at one time..

This is getting fairly easy to determine their order and which go before which... they show the last frame of the previous clip at the beginning, so you just have to look at the first frame in the clip and scroll through to find the same thing showing on the thumbnail (which shows the last frame) and you got a match.... it is fun arranging them, tho... trying to figure out the right order and whatnot....

Erich:

I posted on the same thing a few days ago, but no one responded. My theory is that it is a "snapshot" feature of the video camera RB is using -- she is saving a still photo, in this case of a close-up of Beardy. A photo of Gramps for Rachel's mantlepiece, perhaps? Maybe we'll find out later.

The point is, the interference that you noticed is different from the editing noise that is otherwise found in the clip. I believe there is another "snap" later in the sequence, maybe in the TVM part, but I can't remember. I'll look it up later.

punchy sue: No... it's just very tempermental... if you play through your sequence and it doesn't play a particular clip, try moving that clip to storage, and then back to it's location. I always click on Save, then click on the link I get and it will tell how many clips you have... If it's short a clip, I'll either watch through the video and try to determine which one it is, or just go through all of them and move them to storage and back to the sequence... this should work... another problem is the clips coming up "undefined", which I just fix by hitting F5 and logging back in again.... hope this helps

I wish TLE-clue page would omit what is said in the video fragments when they post the found fragment codes.
Perhaps they could just post a ‘link’ to what is said instead.
The reason is, I would like the opportunity to hear the video fragment for myself before reading what is in it. Its hard for me to look at the code that is found without taking a peek at the what is said about it in the posted clue.

what do you guys think? I emailed them this request... but wanted to post it here in case others wanted to debate the request.

First to Thrasher,
Cute cat, Plz tell me it will never be going outside, because if you plan to ever let it out after it has been declawed it will never be a happy cat, they need to be able to climb and stuff in order to be happy. Nothing makes a cat happier than looking down on things, especially things that move. Also remeber that after about a year the cat (in it's mind anyway) is in it's house and YOU just live there and feed it... Psych for cats is fun.

Amppfofu and Anne,
It is still fun, yes a little slow and disconcerting that clues are in the real world... and all in australia... but it is fun. Just ignore the cheat sites and try to find them on your own, play the game. Look everywhere, the web, magazines, the newspaper, hell even your daily commute... you never know.

Titanicgirl,
Kinisinai and welcome. We are glad you stopped lurking as well. Even if some of us are in lurk mode at the present time.

Well thats it for me, Glyph-e-mon is calling and I am gonna be the first to catch them all....lol

ccs - Interesting theory about the snapshots. I'm not sure about it, only because the fast-forwarding noise/interference during the film doesn't seem to fit with modern video cameras, and the "click" during the "nanite" clip happens while Mittelwerk is talking, rather than there being a pause.

I would also think that if Rachel took a snapshot, she'd risk missing part of what she was filming.

dazzledelf - I agree with what you have to say about Mittelwerk fast-forwarding through part of the video. That could certainly leave us with some unanswered questions at the end of all this, especially if we could just barely make out some interesting stuff going on during the ffwd, but not enough to really understand what was going on! I wouldn't put it past TPTB...

milk - I dig your order, especially putting those two Mittelwerk clips at the beginning. I've been leaning that way myself. It makes sense that Rachel would start by filming through the handle opening in the crate (that's where she'd stay most hidden) and then having to move out a little between boxes to film the film (a riskier place to be, as she's more exposed). If the "through the handle" shots are pre-film, then we could possibly put "4ho" and "nanite" there as well...though "nanite" appears to address the VE, so maybe she moves back behind the crate after the film's end.

The ad is running weird, but I got it... it starts with a small caption, Presented by ABC, Inc., and ends with another caption, Not Sold In Stores.

The Alvar last seen was October 28

Most of the ad is a cartoon of a boy & dog in space suits and a spaceship with a voice-0ver telling you to go to apollocandy.com

when you see the cracked open candy bar it looks like it has Wham (part of the 'a' & all of the 'm' being under silver foil)

when you look at the girl about to eat the bar it LOOKS like it "could" just be Whamm

this is all reminscent of little boys imagery pre-space flight era like 1950s & 60s TV, etc...

uh oh...
Even the chocolate bar has gone to the dark side!
I want one! I LOVE dark choc!
If Benson is the private purveyor of choc for Alvar Hanso and his companies and does not sell in shops, why does he produce a flashy internet website and an ad? ;) (I know... part of the game... but still.)

Thrasher, I know the thread is old now, but just wanted to say. LOVE EMULATORS. :) I've got a tonne myself, although since I discovered The Underdog I've been playing most of the old dos versions of classic games I played on Atari's and Amigas (like floor 13 and Drakkhen).

Oh yes and Daz I'd love to take credit for the Avatar but it's actually from Mandrake Wigs MySpace site. It's actually a statue in Oxford, UK. A local DJ owns it, the council have been trying to get rid of it for years to no avail. Lol. It is basically a shark in a house. Like it dropped from a plane. It kinda reminds me of Donnie Darko, but even more sureal then that film actually was.
