lost & ular98,

Haven't had coffee yet and don't always read comments if I have a lot going on. The one thing I ALWAYS, ALWAYS do is check the email regularly. If something new happens, the best way you guys can help us keep the blog up to date is by emailing. We're not trying to be lazy (I don't think anybody could accuse us of that) but we just really appreciate it when people email us.

I read that the psychotropic compound is being used in the Apollo bars, and the acid and flavoring agents [both normal things in soda] are good things to disguise the taste of the psychotropic compound FROM THE BAR.

Agreed Damn-I saw David's post last night...and actually that is the first this I though of. The candy has the compound in it. So did Alvar help out the bankrupt Apollo company out of kindness and TWM has taken it over to plant psychotropic compounds in the chocolate for god knows what...OR did Alvar start this psychotropic stuff and TWM has nerely taken it over?

Also...great day yesterday; a glyph, Apollocandy.com went live, and this Hackett Flicker memo...things may be picking up!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the fact the you are here and reading our posts and make this site a part of your Lost Experience. It is, IMHO, the best place to use as a hub to play the game. We all work very hard to make the site informative and accurate. While we not post things as quickly as possible, we do a pretty good job. I am on the East Coast, Belly is on the West, and David is in the middle, I am not sure where Young Wallace is, I think in the same area as David. So there is not too many times that there is no one from the Team here. Since I sit in fron of a PC all day at, ahem, work I do not jump on while at home too often. But if something happens while I am at work and I am not busy, I punce right on it with you guys. Again, thanks to you guys for making this so much fun and thanks to David for giving me the opportunity.

Now lets find more glyphs!!!

lostfanatic- In he.com, if your sequence viewer shows an incorrect number of clips (after you have saved) you have to:
1. Go back to the sort page.
2. Move all of your clips from their spot to storage and back.
3. Re-save, and re-check on the viewer.
4. If the number is still incorrect, repeat and do not close HE.com until it is correct in your viewer.
I have posted this just about everyday as so many have problems...I hope TPTB figure out how to fix this so we don't have a "process" when we have all 70!

Not sure exaclty on the wording though. You're right though, if it doesn't turn up soon, Speaker will find a way to get it to us.

Ange and Damntheman:

It may not add up to much, but I'm sticking to my theory that "beverage" and "candy" issues are unrelated. (They may both be delivery systems, but not related.) Here's why -- EDC (and Hackett) has been working on testing the "beverage" since at least 1988, trying to find the right "fruity" combination to mask something. (Clue #61) Hackett works for EDC in 2006, and is up to no good. (According to Mel-O.)

In the 2004 memo, Downs tells Hackett that they have solved the problem, and they are eager for Hackett to re-join the project, as soon as he can "extricate himself" from whatever he's doing at Apollo Candy.

I don't see any evidence for hidden substance in the candy, although I'm willing to remain suspicious if only because of Hackett's involvement.

I'm also inclined to believe that the use of "viral" in this memo is used only to describe the distribution, not to imply a biological agent. (Probably, I'm spending too much time analyzing a Sprite product placement ad.)

ccs wrote: I'm also inclined to believe that the use of "viral" in this memo is used only to describe the distribution, not to imply a biological agent.

I agree with you on this point for what it's worth. A psychotropic agent is not a virus but a hallucinogenic (I googled it:)). I wonder how this will tie in with Apollo Bars being the only food item on Lost without a DHARMA label.

8/09/2006 10:20:00 AM
Blogger tapdawg said...

hmm the way i see it... if it doesn't have a dharma label then I'm worried... because thats the one item that you'd want to eat first because it's not a dharma brand... which means they can put anything they want into it.

marcus-the memo refers to psychotropic compound...which isn't really a virus. See CCS's post above for his/her thoughts.

Important to note: A Psychotropic drug or compound is the title of any chemical that alters brain function in such a way as to result in changes to the mood, consciousness, perception, or behaviour of the effected humanoid, these effects are usually temporary.
