Clue #98 - Fragment Code "r3pux4", DJ Dan Note & Commercial

Fragment Code "r3pux4" was found in Australia just as Ninja had hinted. See a pic of the glyph in Sydney Australia by clicking HERE. The video fragment is of Mr. Beardy saying, "Underground laboratories with the facilities you'll need to do your research with the optimal expediency."

*Check out Matt the Pale's summary of all the found fragment codes at...Matt the Pale's HansoExposed Video Fragment Code List

DJ Dan
DJ Dan's commercial aired last night and tapdawg filmed it and put (most of) it up on YouTube. DJ Dan also SENT US AN EMAIL early this morning with details about his live show! Get excited about tomorrow night!

Thanks to tapdawg, LOST (Sergio), DJ Dan, Lucamu, lostandconfusedtoo, Erich, and Lavenda for emailing us about these clues!

Actually Ib4uc, Ninja gave a shout to Main for whatever glyph he found. So I think the newest code was the on the flyer in Sydney. I did a count of the leaderboard and it is still only totalling up to 32/33 so there is still one glyph released that nobody has found yet. Whether or not it's cleverly hidden or currently unreleased I do not know.

If you look at the xml/statistics page at HE it is still showing 29 as unpublished.

I still think it is the one that was supposed to be in the Speaker article in EW last week (maybe this weeks edition that comes out tomorrow). IMHO

This fragment is definitely an interesting one. It certainly makes it seem like the island portion of the film is way longer than what I, at least, thought.

I wonder how much of what we find out about the island will be new, and how much will be reconfirmation of what we've learned already on the show.

I actually provide updated to my lostie friends who just don't bother with the experiance. And so far the only thing that has happened that has interested them at all, is finding out what DHARMA stands for. They are interested in teh orientation video, but until we have it all, they are just content to wait and now pound their heads against their monitors;) I envy them their innocence.

Ryan, I stopped being optimistic when they started this whole glyph code thing, it's a major lull in the story and I don't think it was well thought out. That or they did think this out and they purposely made a lull in order to allow other people who weren't involved to catch up and join in, but even if that's the case, all us loyal lost obsessives are now forced to slow down our pace to wait.

Has anyone read The Stand by Stephen King? I keep imagining DJ Dan's live broadcast to be like the one in the beginning of that book, where Ray Flowers is talking about the Superflu, and the soldiers break down the door to the studio and kill her on air to shut her up.

Hopefully that doesn't happen to DJ Dan!

Ryan the us got a bunch of glyphs. We had San Diego Comic Con, so we got a public appearance by Rachel Blake as well as wrist bands being worn around the con. Plus we got to finish season 2 back in may, while other countries just finished today. So all in all, us americans are pretty spoiled when it comes to things "lost".

Blogger tapdawg said...

okay it was lavenda and she said

"I won't be getting to the glyph (from australia)... I'm a few too many hours north and family commitments...

I guess these real world clues kind of make up for us being so far behind in the screening of the episodes...

But my theory, and I know someone, maybe David/Admin touched on this before... and now that I think about it it's basically stated in a Q&A thing on the Fuselage... that in constructing this "game" the clues were devised, sponsors welcomed aboard and clues distributed amongst them to essentially put up how they wish... I hadn't thought of it applying to the glyphs till now, but I'm feeling more certain about it... unless Ninja calls on his Melb contacts that helped with the Bad Twin handout, real world clues in Aus will be restricted to Sydney I think.

Hmm, maybe next Thursday I should take off to Syd and hang in a net cafe till Ninja posts where the real world glyph has been spotted that week..."

sounds like the most sense to me.

dazzle, the problem with the comic con thing is that none of us knew to look for the wristbands until after it was too late to find them... hence why speaker and ninja had fake emails from people that gave them upclose pictures of the wristbands... when in actuallity the photos were taken by abc press.

Just to follow up on that weird stuff on the cached trevorsmith.com page (T. Smith had yielded the Hackett / spiked beverage info via flickr that Admin found). I posted some stuff last night in the comments under clue #97.
Just followed up on the term/name (?) nandua
Technology has a funny way of both bringing people closer together and pushing us further apart. Digital communication - IM, email, mobile phone, chat rooms, online dating - provide us efficient, frequent opportunities to make contact with new people, friends and family. More and more digital communication results in less and less face-to-face communication.

But, we are social animals - we can only go so far down this isolating path.

So, think relaxing, open, unique, stylish, good food, exotic cocktails, with a splash of technology and you'll have what's next.

Now, Nandua is also a gulp place in Fiji!

That reminds me of an episode of The Outer Limits I just saw the other day. Alan Thicke played an investigative reporter on a show called "The Whole Truth" (Lost connection?? (; ) He's exposing all these genetic testing and cloning experiments, then the people involved in the experiments catch up with him and interrupt his broadcast with a clone of Alan Thicke saying it was all made up and his source was a crazy liar and had just shot the whole crew. Then the Alan Thicke clone comes into his mobile TV station and kills Original Alan, and we assume he takes over his life from there... Sounds like something THF would do...

You can't talk about Alan Thicke without bring in Growing Pains. It's a moral imperative to keep the memory alive!

That's like talking about Florence Henderson without mentioning the Brady Bunch. It's kinda sad to see kids growing up these days without Growing Pains, and Family Ties to give them a moral compass to guide their lives by. I mean is it legal to have kids growing up in a world where Kirk Cameron and Michael J. Fox aren't getting away with something cool?

Gah - I was this close to having my own (reliable) fragment sequence editor/player. Unfortunately, the Flash video player I was using (FlowPlayer) doesn't seem to like the videos (it plays them back without sound).

If anyone wants to have a play, it's at http://rapidshare.de/files/28900851/hansoexp.tar.bz2.html - it's web-based, and requires a webserver with MySQL and PHP and a good modern web browser. (Tested in Firefox, Opera and Konqueror - IE users shouldn't bother, it doesn't work). Installation: unpack, put onto webserver, create a database and load in frags.sql, edit db.php to point to database.

Fragments are arranged by dragging; there's no direct way of saving your sequence, but it's encoded in the URL - either use your browser's session-saver feature (if it has one) or just bookmark the page when you're done. The order of the fragments in storage isn't saved, and reverts to the order in which they were found. Viewing the video requires Flash 8 (as usual).
