Just a suggestion... perhaps a blacklight shone on the ad will reveal the code (this was already suggested), or perhaps the application of heat will cause the code to appear (hold it up to a light bulb?). Maybe it's glow in the dark? I'm really guessing at this point, but mainly I think the code is hidden on the richerdeeperbroader.com website.

That won't be necessary, ezrasace -- it's most likely the same little blurb that other magazines have had. However, it would be helpful if we knew what issue/number the magazine is.

Fenric? Wasn't that from Doctor Who?

I think I am actually just off on one. To explain a bit, it's the Verizon add. The ROT guys said stuff about "The bottom of it" and I noticed what looked like the tops of letters at the bottom. There was what looked like the bottom of letters at the top, so I cut it in half and matched it up. It kinda linked up...but, it didn't really look much like a word or string of letters even. I mean you can kinda see maybe an A at the start and some W's but it's not very likely to be genuine.

Ho hum.

fasten- it's different. Not sure if there is a clue in it but here I'll type it up.

Are the Producers of Lost pulling the wool over our eyes?

If you believe computer hacker Rachel "Persephone" Blake they just might be. She exposed The Hanso Foundation's crimes on their own website. Unearthed a plot involving Sri Lanka- a plot The Hanso Foundation would kill to protect. And, at the popular entertainment expo, San Diego Comic-Con, she screamed at LOST's executive producers, accusing them of being in The Hanso Foundation's pockets. After all, THF had paid for commercial spots on ABC during LOST.

The producers, of course, denied any connection to the REAL foundation. LOST is just a television show, they said. Alvar Hanso is fictional- he's not real. And, with that, security escorted Rachel out.

But not before she yelled, "Alvar Hanso IS real...! And, if you want the truth you will go to HANSOEXPOSED.COM!"

I wanted the truth. So, I went.

I discovered that images with strange hieroglyphs and codes are being leaked on the web and in the real world. Each code unlocking a portion of a video begging intriguing questions:

Why was Foundation president Dr. Thomas Werner Mittlewerk on the island of Sri Lanka?

Who is the bearded narrator of the "DHARMA Initiative" film?

What information could this video hold that it's worth killing over?

Can it be? If this is all REAL, will the secret of the LOST "numbers" finally be revealed?

Afraid we're ALL in the dark on that one.

This is how it's written in the ad. Have to be off for an hour but I'll check back later to see if anyone had found anything new.

I'm a she first of all.

Yay! Another Lost Girl! Another possiblity is that the ad can be folded in some way kind of like what I think fenris was driving at with matching up the edges of the image.

And let's not assume the Speaker part is the same. You may need both pages put together somehow to find the code.

I realize that the People magazine ad seems to be directing us to the movies section on RDB, but I've been playin' around with this as well... it may be linked, since RDB and ROT are linked...

Maybe the image link that BBB posted on RoT as "proof" that he was at Comic Con was just an indication to us as to the way the file structure of RoT is set up. BBB posted the image location "http://www.retrieversoftruth.com/users/BroadBandBeatnik/htdocs/images/thats_me.jpg"... if you back out all the subfolders other than users, and try to put the others' names in (fiber, iobi and DSL), you'll find that fiber and iobi's folder do not exist, but DSLerator's does exist, we're just "not authorized" to view the page... if we build back into the subfolders, we can get back up to htdocs with it saying "you are not authorized" but if I throw "images" into the string, I get that the page does not exist.. I wonder if we're supposed to find something under http://www.retrieversoftruth.com/users/dslerator/htdocs/... just kinda starting on this...

I'd like to bring up again the question of this video's authenticity. The only clue we have is the telephone message (which is probably real). But Are we sure that he as referring to this vide? Anyone can print a T-shirt glyph, film himself, and put it on YouTube with a name that's an anagram of Rachel Blake. We've seen quite plenty of fakes in the past. How do we know that this is not one? ABC wouldn't give out "encoded emssages" that were untranslatable (although, the Korean Peppershaker message comes to mind, but in that one you had all of the parts). Here the face is missing, and the video's low quality is kind of a giveaway.

Unless there's some evidence that I don't know about yet.

however, one thing that leads me to trust the authenticity is that when 2costa inadvertantly figured out the password to the toll free number that started this gig, ninja asked (through tapdawg i think) that 2costa send him the password.

i'd like the thoughts of the rest of you on the authenticity thang

Strangely, no... I don't even remember people in the UK saying tube for TV... the say telly, so what other tubes do we know... The Tube in London is the underground... not a LOST clue... what do we know related to the game that would have to do with "tube"...

That's the one... You Tube, but does it mean it's a glyph, you'd think so... does it look like the chocolates glyph, well, then we'd already have it so it may be a new glyph and worth checking out as people have been doing all day.

BTW, anyone want a higher resolution scan of the Verizon ad? I'm playing with the image in my PhotoStudio software, but it's not my area of expertise.

Also, can People print their regularly scheduled magazine that is not on special paper to have an effect when a special type of light is on it OR would playing with the RGB or CMYK do something? There's nothing in the negative image...

Also there isn't any viable anagram with Call tom K Yegato or a variation... it was righteous lateral thinking so I'm waiting for a better sign language translation or letting the people that started it, finish it and that is why I moved on to people...

I took a gig for tomorrow starting in the afternoon through nighttime, so I thought i should do some work on this now.

Just to clarify, all glow-in-the-dark materials react to blacklight, but there are some chemicals that are only reactive to blacklight, so it was worth a shot to look at the magazine in the dark anyway.

That's a good point. In that case, we should call off the search and then take a look at richerdeeperbroader.com tomorrow. Maybe TPTB will have uploaded our clue by then. Still, it's not right to give away a clue and then make it impossible for us to find the solution.

It may be that fragment code #29 is a McGuffin -- something to make us go, which backfired on TPTB by making us merely more frustrated. I think #29 was probably a one-shot on a television commercial perhaps, or in a physical location. If it was online, we would have found it by now.

Hey, folks.

Don't post here all that often, but figured I'd make things even more complicated:

Not only do we have the sign language video AND the People magazine (Britney Spears cover) with its glyph-with-no-code (yeah, I have the issue as well)...

But when I picked up the new People, I -also- picked up the new Entertainment Weekly (with House as the cover story).

Guess what? There's the 'tribal wars' Jeep ad in there...but it no longer says 'tribal wars'.

Now it says:

theflashlight

No, it doesn't work as a code. :(

But since I'm -never- going to be the first one to actually get a code ENTERED into the HE.com system, I figured I'd at least make certain that I was the first one (that I've seen here, anyway) to mention this code.

That way, at least whoever -does- enter it first can think fondly of me. *grin*
