Hi Twinkle

Yes, Monday was a bank (public) holiday here.

I hope they don't stop the clues because of a holiday that seems to be the perfect time to get exposure.

Mind you perhaps TPTB know that we are all sitting in work trying to find clues.

but what did speaker mean when he said, in readers mail ten and five find a man who's skinned alive?

Maybe the big twist is that actually Hanso are the good guys and we are all wrong.

Hey they can't be that bad giving out free chocolate.

Maybe Mittleverk is a kind and gentle philanthrope, Alvar is in a retirement home in a luxurious paradise and Joop is hanging out in Borneo with some hot female orangs....

Mmmn then again maybe not...

Perhaps in true Empire Strikes Back fashion we will find that Mittleverk is actually Rachels dad!

Hmmm....the cliffhanger. My theory is that the recent Rachel clip is not dead last. We all know she escaped, so while it was an exciting few seconds, not a cliffhanger.

My crackpot theory....the last few seconds will be TWM confronting Rachel and recognizing her and starting to say something like "You of all people would spy on us! How could you betray...." and fade to black.

9/01/2006 09:39:00 AM

odd question, but does TWM have long hair? not that it has any relevance to ANYTHING... or does it?!

All valid points (and I did call it crackpot). However, Rachel has accidentally let slip a few "almost reveals" in both the Malik video and the GidgetGirl video. Sloppy, yes, but not unprecedented.

As for TWM not recognizing the wigged/sunglassed Rachel in Copenhagen, he almost did, but Malik stepped in and broke them up. I'm assuming that since Rachel used the GidgetGirl fake Melanie ID using Rachel's real picture sans wig, she's probably not in disguise when she's spotted by the goons. So it would be easier for TWM to recognize her.

Of course, my theory yesterday was that a chocolate crazed Joop burst out of his Helgus Antonius bunk and ran willy nilly through the corpses thereby allowing Rachel an escape, so take all my thoughts with an exceptionally large nanite laden grain of salt.

9/01/2006 09:51:00 AM

Morning all:

Sure hope this Labor Day Weekend doesn't mean down time in the glyph hunt! Would make for an extra long weekend!

So this latest frag kind of confirms the manipulation of the VE. Apparently, TWM has that figured out (probably with the help of those savants), and maybe the use of the genetically altered virus is changing the population factor.

I certainly hope when this video is done there isn't a big emotional let down. We'll probably have confirmation of what TWM and his gang are up to. What are we supposed to do with this info? Physically stop them from spreading the virus? Or somehow help Rachel do it? (Obviously, she escapes from Sri Lanka -- maybe with the help of Malik.)

There's still a lot of unanswered loose ends. The number one being: Do Rachel and Alvar meet and the confirmation of their relationship.
Hopefully, that will be neatly tied up.

I have posted a comment about this on the blog but this Misfit tends to delete posts that contain any proof of where his posts originate.

Good morning/afternoon/evening all!
Nice glyph hunting so far. I really hope we get some more today. I'm not as busy today, so hopefully something will happen that I can play along with! Didn't Tapdawg say that the new orientation film- aka the Sri Lanka video- was supposed to be in the extra features on the Season 2 DVD? I could be totally wrong on remembering that, but if it is, then why wouldn't they finish giving out glyphs this weekend- otherwise there will be no point since the DVD is coming out Tuesday. Something is amiss there.
Not totally caught up on comments yet, but I'm going to go sign up for Fantasy Football....woohoo! Just went to an NFL preseason game last night (AZ vs. Denver- Broncos won, Cardinals suck...pffft)

I don't think that the HansoExposed video would be on the DVDs. There would be too much to explain to anyone who hasn't been following the "Experience": Rachel Blake, TMW, Valenzetti Equation, Joop, etc.

I would think that there would only be stuff directly related to the island...maybe there will be other hatch videos...?

I think the way TapDawg phrased it, it sounded like it could just be orientation films.

I'm not really sure what to expect on the DVDs. There can't really be a summary of TLE, since it won't be over by the time the DVDs come out.

Unless... they just summarize the first three acts. Then they could try to get new people to play the last act with the promise of revealing the meaning of the numbers.

Although it seem wierd to only have part of TLE on the DVDs.

I guess we'll know Monday at Midnight :)

BTW... I was in Walmart on Wednesday, and they said that they already had the DVDs in stock. Obvoiusly, they wouldn't sell me one early :(

The orentation video shown at Comic-Con was a short one, just a welcome and howdy-doo kind of thing. Marvin is dressed the same as in the Pearl Hatch video, and he has both arms. I think 1980 is correct. The "Voice of Room 20" said we would have our cameras confiscated if we try to tape it.

I remember somthing kinda like: "No mater which task you are assigned, you will be expected to do your best and stay until the completion of your assignment. and Namaste".

And the Mobisode was a camcorder image of Sawyer & Kate sitting by a camp fire. Sawyer says "What do you want! Get out of here, give me that!" He takes the camcorder for Hurley and Hurley apologizes, or makes some excuse about makeing a record for prosperity.

All of the Mobisodes will first be avaliable for the Verison phones the on the web. They will be the adventures of Hurley with his lost camcorder.

I am sad.

The collection of Channel Four lackeys known as TOG are saying this is drawing to an end. That means almost certainly the chocolate is ACT 4 which for some reason will finish very soon after ACT 3 finishes. I guess it will all be wrapped up for the new seires. The other comment about going to a daytime, mid week event is "your last chance to get recognised as a key member of the Lost Experience." Like I couldn't feel I was missing out enough. Apparently C4 thinks all people doing the ARG are either school kids or unemployed and of course they aren't going to work weekends for our sake.

There is so much bad about that TOG post. Are the names of those who entered the codes first by fluke and having no life and lots of time to hit F5 going to be imortalised somehow along with those that found the totally random (although some people obvious have more access to them then others) golden oracle bars. While everyone else will be swept aside like so much garbage.

Hello everyone btw. :)

It's 5am and it's time for me to SLEEP. Then I will be angry at C4 again tomorrow. TOG does not exist. TOG does not exist. TOG does not exist. C4 sucks. Etc etc.

But Just want to end on a more positive thing. For me, here are some good points about this ARG, in order.

1) The people I've met playing - 99% via this website too or the message board/irc parts. This is a truly great and unique comminity guys and gals and you should all be PROUD. For me personally it's been great to meet people that I seem to have stuff in common with. Shocking. Also the variety of characters is great too. I could name names but there isn't enough space.

2) Getting to do remix tracks! Really it's been a lot of fun and if I can get my arse in gear I am planning FOUR more of them. One dedicated to Johnny and the TLEC crew, one for Ninja, One for Speaker and one final DJ Dan track. (remains to be seen if I actually do all those)

3) DJDan & Crew - Obviously everyone knows I'm a fan. Javi, "Johnny" & "Tonya" have been great and the live show was probably the absoloute highlight.

4) Speaker - with the restrains and awkward situations he's been put in by TPTB and ABC, he's done remarkably well and put in a lot more effort then he needed to (see C4).

5) LOST JUICE - It's been so diluted it's easy to forget what we have really learned and actually it's quite good juice. We are still promised the best part of this so this could raise itself higher.

6) Ninja - again, he's gone to a lot of effort. He hasn't been quite as much of a character as speaker but he has been very social and an important part of both the game and the community.

7) Mandrake Wig's MySpace - Whoever it is that manages that has been a laugh, even if he is mostly out of the loop of things and because of the isolated "if I post, it's a clue" nature of a lot of this game some of his sillyness has been mistaken for clues. But at least he isn't a corporation so I never minded looking at anything irellevent he put together. Plus those statue pics were great.

8) It got me to finally sort out my MySpace and get a lot of people there. Yep another personal one. :)

Sadly I can't get to 10 with this. The negatives, I won't comment on before I hit the sack because I want to be thinking positive thoughts and not go to bed angry. Lol.

See you all tomorrow.

Thanks for that Belly. :)

Having slept on it, I don't think they would really just recognise those people with oracles and glyph points (I'm not really sure how they would be "recognised" anyway) and I can't really complain from a personal point of view as I've had more then one shout out for the DJ Dan stuff, plus I did manage to get at least one clue credit and my speculation about Dharma/Valanzetti turned out to be spot on. Really I was more annoyed for some of the other people involved that may not get the credit they deserve. For example the people that actually found the glyphs rather then those that put the code in first once it was active.

But really it's just those shabby C4 people that make things look worse then they actually are. If ever there was an example of how not to phrase a message from an in game character to the community that latest TOG post is that. Actually the whole of TOGs existance is a good example of how not to do things.

I am going to see if I can change work hours so I can get the thursday off, but to be honest don't think it will be possible without too much hassle for it to be worthwhile.

Superdifey. Glad I'm not alone on that one. Although having said that I'm not glad that a lot of people will be missing out on it.

Thinking about it the kind of people that will be able to make these events are the typic C4 target audience. I guess I can't blame them. I am so far from a C4 target audience and I download Lost rather then waiting for C4 to finally show it. I can't honestly expect them to pander to my needs. But having said that I've found a lot in common with other ARG players so I do think they are largely shooting themseles in the foot with this, just as they were with their attitude to Lost in general (how many UK ppl I have spoken to DL rather then wait for C4 to catch up? Dont' forget they haven't even finished S2 yet!).

As much as I dislike Rupert Murdoch I kind of feel the whole UK lost thing would be run much better if Sky had the rights.

Sure, there's been plenty of aggravation and frustration with TPTB and their screw-up and cover-ups, but I just toss that up to human nature. We all knew this TLE was supposed to end eventually, and we are now seeing the light at the end of this long, long tunnel. Most likely we don't want this to end until all of our questions are answered (Will we/Rachel stop TWM?, will Rachel/Alvar meet?, what is their relationship?, etc.) If this is anything like LOST, there will be more unanswered questions left dangling than true answers.

But my positive experience far outweighs any negative. I learned so much about navigating around the internet and how to better use my computor. I've met such interesting people who have been so helpful and have become such great online friends. This TLEC community is the best. Yeah, there's been ups and downs in this game, but, for me, it's mostly been up.
