I hate to re-post, but this was near the end of the last thread and people will get a kick out of it, those that did not see it yet...I'm not bolding or making anything italic again, takes too much time...and TOP 10!

Here is what I was going to record on DJ Lena's podcast...Keep in mind it was a parody...

DJ Lena: Next we have Chad on the line, 'ello!

Chad: My friend Ange and I where going to this new petting zoo, The ScoutPost to visit the talking goat, Dennis. As we were driving she told her neice and nephew, Allyson and Ryan, who Drumz that you better "Fasten Your Seat Belts" because the road was going to get very bumpy. The Boomerang Truck that we were riding swerved to avoid a DazzedElf, and crashed into this Greek Statistician named Ora Oxillini, it seems he was not paying attention to the road because he was reading off this series of letters that would save the moon from complete reconstruction. With a Twinkle in my eye I told him that he better have a Noble Lawyer because we were going to sue. He said he was terribly sorry but he had to go because he was late returning to the library and that if he did not get there soon The Book Police was going to arrest him. We exchanged information and as he turned to leave he shook my hand and said "Peace and Namaste!"

DJ Lena: Um, Peace and wha'?

Chad: Right! Which I found to be very odd since it was a common saying with these people I work with at the Sohan Federation. Deep down in my Belly Of Desire I knew that he had something to do with this project my boss, David, the Administrator was working on called the Greg Imperitive. I poked around at the office and spoke to my friend Thomas Peterson and asked for his input. He told me to to forget I ever heard of the Greg Iperititive and that I need to change my password to "DedJezter" per our IT department head and the president Alvin Sohan. As I was doing this I was contacted by a funny sounding woman named Rachel Flake who claimed to be an Experimental Film tester with Sohan, telling me to get out and run for my life, she also told me to call DJ Lena and expose the man. So that is my story DJ Lena....I was going to post it on TLEC but those people are too polite and smart.

DJ Lena: There you have it, Exposed!! Next caller...

I like that, particularly because the old Spanish word 'Avogado" means lawyer. Nowadays it refers to a green or black fruit served with nachos.

You could probably shorten it to
FYSB6.02e+23

And in truth, I've seen Princess Bride more times than Tron, which is why I got such a big kick out the podcast in which David pretended to interview BellyofDesire and instead played clips of Wallace Shawn from that film.

Speaking of BellyofDesire, he was supposed to come clean about his name. Now where has he got to?

Anyway, almost all of those are better (even geekier) than the true origins. Except for Rusty Wallace -- that's a different kind of geeky.

I picked 27 because I use it frequently in my work. To be more exact, I should probably use engineer25.9 for most applications.

But I guess it gets pretty hot here in South Florida. Probably why they didn't do any Apollo giveaways nearer to us than Dallas. The chocolate would melt!

grr....blogger keeps crashing on me.

I had such a hard time coming up with a "nom de blog". I really wanted something short and clever (like me!haha) but I couldn't come up with a thing. I've always liked the movie All About Eve, especially the scene where Bette Davis' friends are railing on her for acting beeyatchy and she responds, martini in hand, "Fasten your seatbelts, it's gonna be a bumpy night." I think it's such a great line.

However, it makes an exceptionally long blog name, so I think going forward I'll just be FYSB (pronounced Fizzbee).

Oxillini (I like how you picked your name BTW!); heh-heh, no but that is interesting that they squished their company name down like that.

Mine name just comes from my admiration for the U.S. space program. My dad worked for Aerojet in the '60s and helped make the engines for the Gemini program, so my "formative years" revolved around everything about the space program, which was fine with me. I always thought that the flight control position of capsule communicator (the position that speaks directly with the space crew) was a pretty neat job, so I often use "capcom" for an ID. Thanks for asking. I like hearing how people chose their names.

I had technical problems with my computer and microphone so I didn't get to record anything for the podcast- bummed. But when it comes out I will add my input in comments. If anyone cares...
I, like FYSB, struggled with coming up with something cool for a name. "Scout" is from my fav book of all time- To Kill a Mockingbird, and "post"- well that just refers to posting an entry. Get it? Scout-post? yeah I know it's boring, but it works and it sounds kinda cool. Alrighty then- going to pass out now.

I left a message for Javi and got answered. Cool. :)

I like this after ARG bit, it's kinda cool everyone pulling off their masks. The Ninja thread was AWESOME too.

The downside was it seems my extended theory about Mittlewerk was just that, a theory. Ah well. Personally I think it's much cooler then the actual ending, but then it was my theory so that's too be expected.

Things were much simpler. Mittlewerks blood change was just part of his "life extension" program apparently. What a bad man he is for having life extension treatment and trying to save the world. Okay there is a pretty solid argument that killing 30% of the world to try and save it from self destruction based on some equation probably isn't that sensible and may actually be a little, uh, dangerously crazy. Still....

Interesting to see what Javi said about Rachels mother. I suspect it'll give a lot of weight to the Degroot argument.

What about the Jeep Video from last week and the License Plate? or what was the point of the Golden Oracle Bars? How about the missing Gary Troup videos? Hmmm... this is all very interesting?

I asked Javi about this and he said "yes, there were greater plans, but there are also a lot of liability/feasability issues when a large company runs something like this."

He also said in an answer to someone else's question that they wanted to do some kind of geo-caching type of thing, with coordinates on the Apollo bars. That kinda makes more sense given the website name - WhereIsAlvar.

He said the missing GT videos are probably a red herring.

It leaves another interesting theory though! The Darhma Initive was about finding an Eviromental soultion to changing the Values of the Valenzetti Equation and that failed. Wow 44, I really dropprd off there huh. I guess that is what happens when the game slows to a crawl and you take over as moderator of the MB. I guess I just felt like I was always a step behind in the later days... I would do the MB stuff and then check in here and all would have been said already, so a few speculations here and there were all I managed to do. But hey 44 0f 637 ain't half bad... lol

Ouch, Lena, that hurts. I guess that means I won't be invited on the DJ Lena podcast.

I guess Tom and Manny and I will just hang out.

You guys are so funny! I had such a great time digging through our old comments. What a laugh! I'm definitely not telling my husband my rank on the comments list. It was also neat to hear how everybody picked their names. I've put up an avatar again to show why I picked Twinkle (little star). (Could it take any longer to upload a picture to your profile!!) Thankfully the kids moved on and are obsessed with other songs now. If I'd had to pick something now it would have had to been Jesus (loves me) or Pawprint (Blues Clues) which I don't like nearly as well.

BTW, shouldn't Fenris be higher up the comment totals list? After all, his posts were usually as long as books. He'd post one, go off to bed, and we'd take off with his ideas while he was sleeping!

Hey Tapdawg... we don't see you much now that you are back to school. My daughter askes about you when we talk about TLE. She was visiting my house when you were at ComicCom and sending messages back to those online. She and I were watching the message boards together that day. She is the only one I know that the understands my attraction to this game we have been doing since May. Somehow your name stuck in her mind when she thinks of TLE. I even got her to go to San Francisco with me to get an Apollo Bar. Everyone else I tell about it think I'm nuts.

Yeah Javi answered my questions about the shout outs to players in game and said that it was a decision made by all involved. They realized who the most apparent players were and used this info to make the game more peronal I guess.

He also thinks my art inspired by LOST is trippy... hee hee That just made my year.

Can't wait to see you all on the Teal'c board....
wink wink Twinkle.

Hi Guys,

Cool #30 on the list, amazing considering how long I lurked - I'm also at #589 under my real name- ah the secret's out.

I like how everyone got their screen names - mine, well for the most part that remains a secret but lets say it's a convenient alter ego and it's also nothing to do with the TV show which I've never seen . I usually use Jonny (or Jasmine) Blades but felt like a change. I actually gave up using screen names years ago but then found it strange posting as me when everyone else was using screen names.

I did enjoy making my avatar though, it's a little rough but it's meant to be part super-hero part my true self shining through the false exterior. My wife hates it but I like the audio jack in the neck - I can plug my iPod straight into my brain :).

Blogger Fenris said...

Lol Twinkle. Yes that's true. If I were to break my posts up like if I was posting them with the world limit imposed on other boards (like Ninja's for instance) then I'd probably end up with at least 10x the posts I am down for. I wonder if there is a way to find the number of words per poster. I bet that would be shocking!

tdciago - Javi replied to a few questions (not mine I should add) about Rachels mother. He pretty much verified that it was her mother being talked about in the "she was an employee of the foundation" bit by paraphrasing it and also mentioned that her fate was shrouded in secrecy.
